Such a great building for building our liberal arts educational skills! The building boasts an…read moreextensive art museum, several performance art studios for theater and dance, and music studios with the latest technology. The walls are somewhat decorated with art pieces of graduated students which makes it seem like Middlebury really cares about the students. I hope so, this school is expensive. The concert halls are huge and lovely. I came to them to watch the annual Cocoon, the Moth Up's only paid show with talented speakers that tell true stories that hit your heart with tears and laughter. I also had singing lessons in here during my MiddView trip (Vocal Music) although I had absolutely no business being in that trip since I had no experience whatsoever with professional singing but I do like singing. The art museum is free admission, just got to put your bag away in a cubby because art theft is a huge issue. The school has enough money to have legit art on campus. I'm impressed. It's so beautiful in there, my lab partner Michelle and I went in to talk about my sad life and pass time while I was doing laundry. I had my art history class and my music composition class in this building, both utilizing the resources in the building. There are couches everywhere also, so if you want a nice quiet place to study, find yourself here. There's also a food store if you get hungry during the day and find yourself missing breakfast at the dining halls because you can't wake up on time.

The two people at the front desk told me that I could choose. (I shared with them that this is the first time I'd ever considered joining a gym.) They said the trainer I had chosen would connect with me by email in a week or so. I paid for three sessions and a membership and awaited the email that never came. I reached out three times and finally someone got back to me. I responded to the email and it took a couple of weeks and another call from me to learn that you cannot choose your trainer, or maybe just this one... That took two months or more. I learned that trainer is highly sought after. Guess I just didn't fit the client profile or something. Anyway, I sort of lost my interest in joining a gym, widening my community, and getting some good fitness advice and support. I just gave up. A week after I canceled my membership I was talking to a women I know who is in her early 30's, I'm in my 50's. She told me that she just joined the Y and was there working out when a man approached her. She's lovely. After some conversation he told her he was a trainer at the Y and offered his services to her. Guess who that trainer was... Seems like he actually did have time. Do I ask for my $ back??

I've been to Burlington a few times but never to the Flynn. I've wanted to visit this theatre ever…read moresince I heard about Phish playing a special concert there on 3/18/97. I was in College and Phish was booming in popularity at this time. The Flynn is a small theatre and Phish was playing arenas by '97. At that show Ben & Jerry introduced the band and they opened up with a cover of 'Cinnamon Girl' by Neil Young. I remember listening to this taped show and dreaming about seeing them in this intimate setting. Other notables included Hood and Slave --- what a show! This 1930's "Wonder Theatre" was a state-of-the-art vaudeville and motion picture venue upon it's original inception. It seats 1,439 guests and they typically show concerts, shows and movies. It's right near the start of the public corridor of Church St. or a quick walk to Lake Champlain. Fast forward to 4/19/25. I'm in town for my son to tour UVM and without any prior knowledge I see that moe. is playing that evening at the Flynn-- what luck? Tix's for 2 were around $100. We arrived about 30 minutes before the show. The theatre has unique style -- not like the Capital but cool in it's own way. The staff were super and the crowd had the greatest vibe. We had an unbelievable time. Thank you Flynn!
