I don't usually like restaurants where you go to see and to be seen - usually they're overpriced and the food is average. Spot (the older, fancier brother of Ritz) is definitely an exception and worth the visit if you're around the Av. Paulista area.
This neat glassbox house is connected to a nearby square that gets empty by the night, so dinner there is usually a better experience than lunch. As for the main dish, visitors are usually in there for their beefs, or the daily suggestion, which are always very good. I've always felt like going for the pastas, though -- not only you can decide the size of your plate, but they're also always perfectly cooked. And yes, the ham-and-melon pasta DOES make a great match and is highly appreciated by most (and so does the shrimp one as well).
As expected, lines usually build up. Service is good and prices are fair. Their drink menu is usually one of the best in town, and valet service for your car (at the time of review) was included -- tips are kind of expected, though. read more
