Playground is a very fun place, and excellently run. They are predominantly a casino gaming space,…read morebut they have multiple solid dining spaces including The Rail (a coal fired bistro), Drunken Dragon (Japanese), and a steakhouse. I have been at least four times there. From the gaming perspective, they are the best poker room in all of Canada and perhaps all of North America. Dealers are excellent, food & beverage service is excellent (and the food itself is great in the poker room), and they have good quality tables, seating, and chips. They also have lots of tournaments there. The overall place is kept clean and they're always going around cleaning the gaming machines / slots. There are no live tables here other than poker, but they have electronic roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. I have only eaten at The Rail. Dinner there was very good. The cheesy garlic bread was solid. The bacon Hawaiian pizza was a great pizza. Service there was good, too. Also, Playground has complimentary valet parking.

Came here for the first time on Saturday May 11, 2024 around 3PM. I heard about it through social…read moremedia as they have recently renovated and expanded the place. I am used to the Montreal Casino, if we are to compare the two, Playground is significantly smaller and more geared towards poker players. Our group was just interested in slot machines - you have to create a membership card to play, which is free, and they give you up to $30 in credits for liking their social media handles. This was straightforward and easy. The slot machines are located on the first and second floor. Upper floor is part of the expanded area and is overally nicer, has fresher carpet and less of a smell. I was surprised to see many smoking rooms - despite being enclosed, whenever the sliding doors open, the smell gets around. Drinks are free while you play, food is free only if you play at the poker tables. Unlike the Montreal Casino, there aren't any self serve stations, so no free soda or water around. The 2nd floor has a stage with occasional live music or shows. The new restaurants for japanese food or steak are also on the 2nd floor. These are beautiful and a nice touch - probably the nicest feature of the Playground. The rest of the area is unfortunately kind of cramped and dark, there is a lack of color and ambiance. Maybe different lighting or more decorations could liven up the place. I found the mood to be a bit depressing. There is no real glitz or glam. Still a decent option if you are just interested in slot machines or poker and would like to have a nice meal on site, but for a fun night out, I find this place to be too small and lacking options. For example, there are no branded slot machines, no famous pop culture icons or anything noticeable. Many other casinos have games featuring celebrity shows or artists which I find more enjoyable. Note the parking is free and there is plenty outdoors however much of the lot is not paved so can be quite messy if you are literally walking in dirt during bad weather.

On a weekend night, they only had one bar open, only selling canned drinks. Every machine and table were taken. The food area seemed to be "cafeteria" food and it didn't seem appetizing at all. There was a buffet area of some sort if you had the specific players card, but I didn't have that at the time. The DJ area was really cool, and the music being played was awesome!! Overall, it was an interesting experience, but probably wouldn't go back.

The atmosphere is modern and spacious, with a lively vibe from the casino floor but still a relaxed enough setting to enjoy a leisurely meal. Video Review will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram soon @Foxyappetite The variety of food was impressive, covering all the brunch essentials--scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausages, fresh pastries, and even made-to-order omelets. We especially loved the pastries (the croissants were perfectly flaky) and the dessert section, which included decadent cakes and tarts. The Asian station was a nice touch, though not as extensive as the other options. Everything was pretty fresh, though some of the hot items like scrambled eggs could have been a bit more moist. Service was friendly, and our drinks were refilled quickly. It's a little pricier than your average buffet, but considering the quality and variety, it felt worth it. If you're looking for a fun Sunday brunch with a mix of classic and more adventurous dishes, I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're planning to hit the casino afterward.

The reviews seemed relatively good as well, so I figured this would be the ideal place to stay for my first trip to the city. Like my other hotel reviews, I'll separate this into pros and cons - so here we go! There's a lot to like about Warwick Le Crystal. I think the location is one of its biggest strengths. You are in the downtown area, so we were super close to Rue Sainte-Catherine, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Underground City. The hotel is also very close to the Metro which made it very easy to commute to other areas of the city. The hotel features are another pro; our room was huge and tastefully decorated - large enough to hold two king-size beds with plenty of space for other furniture. The bathroom was very spacious, and the TV was set up to connect streaming services. The mini bar was pretty well stocked, as well as the toiletries and towels in the bathroom. What I also found unique about this hotel was that there was a kitchenette in the room, complete with plates, cups, and silverware. There is an onsite restaurant that serves BLD, though I did not dine there. There are not many cons that come to mind, though I can see where the aesthetics may not be everyone's taste. Once could also argue the location is a turnoff, as you are away from touristy areas such as Old Montreal and Mile End. To close, I want to give kudos to the staff - they were consistently professional and friendly; our stay was augmented by their customer service. Overall, I had a great stay at Warwick Le Crystal; while I am curious about other lodgings in the city, I would definitely consider returning and have no qualms recommending it to others.
