Well had we not been thoroughly hammered my buddies and I would have never even thought to go in here. But the sales pitch we got was pretty convincing... there was a woman (we'd later find out was a prostitute) standing by the door, and as we walked by she flashed her big breasts & said, "Come up and by me a drink!" How could we refuse..... My guess is that she wasn't actually working FOR the bar, but rather working the guys at the bar. They had a few pool tables, but the place was more of a dive bar then anything else. We had a couple of rounds with our "new friend" and left after around the 18th time she asked us if we wanted to "go somewhere with her." And no, she didn't leave with us... she had moved on to the next guy at the bar when we were heading out. read more

My buddies and I come out to Montreal every year for a guys weekend. Honestly we usually always hit Sharxx but with there hall closing there doors just across the st. We decided to check out this place. We were not disappointed , it is not even close to the size of Sharxx but for a Saturday afternoon we were able to walk right in and play some pool , the bartender was very friendly and the rates were more than affordable. I strongly recommend coming out to chill with your friends before you hit the clubs ! read more

Fats is in a perfect location to take advantage of the college & uni crowds. Tons of space to sit, play pool, or whatever else you wanna do because pretty much anything goes here. We were there over the weekend as a large group and although I love dive bars, you need to wet your whistle to get the full experience. Well good luck with that. Service was dead slow. Sat 3/4 of my 3 hours there with an empty drink trying to get another one. I now understand why arrogant drunks tend to smack on the bar here. Just another dive bar in downtown Montreal. The drinks are cheap here and they got slot machines here and plenty of pool tables. This place is the shadier/cheaper version of Sharks. Don't be surprised if you meet some pushers here or shady folk. This place is nothing like Sharks. No loud music, overpriced drinks or snobby bartender chicks here. Found this dive bar while wandering Sainte-Catherine and I'm so glad I did! Went in with four of my friends not planning on staying for long, but the bartenders were so friendly and welcoming that we ended up staying for the entire night and then coming back the next night with all of our friends and staying until close. The drinks are cheap and so are the rates for renting pool tables. The staff is incredibly kind and funny- definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun bar! read more
