My son wanted to try to get in some playground time before the rain started so I headed towards some green spaces just up the road that might have had something to offer. We lucked out when we found Donatoni Community Park. This park is tucked away off of the street and you would only notice it by the single road sign or the play structure next to the parking lot. The parking lot is flanked by 2 baseball fields and a playground. The playground is small but pretty awesome. It is designed for 5-12 year olds and offers slides, climbing structures, and crawling structures. All the "active" spaces at this park are in full sun. There is a concession stand area with a covered picnic table area next to the playground. I assume the stand is only open during large gaming events. I wasn't able to find any bathrooms during our short stay as the rain came shortly after we arrived. This must be a quite place when there aren't any baseball games going on as kids were biking in the parking lot while their parents hung out. I definitely would come back to this place especially after hitting up some awesome Thai food at Thai Nam Phet just down the road.

Love this little gem of a park in my neighborhood!…read more My 9 month old daughter is very into swings, so this is the perfect spot to take her. There are two baby swings and it's rarely crowded so we usually have the swings to ourselves. There are also some other jungle gym areas that I'm sure she'll appreciate more in a few years. I'm sure soon enough she will love the big tire swing and slide. The park has picnic tables, a cute little pond and ample parking. In the winter when the pond freezes up this is a popular spot for skating and ice hockey. Overall it's a nice spot to have nearby and I'm sure I'll be here more frequently as it continues to warm up.

If you play twice you get half off the second game. The course itself was really fun!! The entire course is well kept. It was challenging enough and a handful of holes had little surprises! It was an adventure in itself walking around the course with the waterfalls (or what i think will be waterfalls) and figuring out how we would get to the second part of the hole!! We ended up skipping over one hole to pass a larger group, and we finished the entire course in about 40 min. My only problem with this course is they did not have the water in yet, but given how early it is in the outdoor mini golf season I will let them pass on this. I planning on coming back again and I hope they have the water next time. The course was still fun even with out it.

They were open when we got there but despite people there with kids using the playground, they locked them. I just found this odd. Where are we supposed to go when nature calls? The playground itself isn't completely fenced in. There are two openings. They have gates but the gates were chained opened with locks so there was no way to shut them. As far as what's on the playground for the kids, some stuff might not be great for younger kids, but my 6 year old and 4 year olds loved it. We'll definitely be going back again.

There is a diving board, a small slide, and 2 lanes roped off for swimmers. Off to one side is the arcade, another the grill. It is attached to a summer rental motel-type structure. In one corner are private cabanas, but you don't get any sun. I guess for those without access to the lake, this is the next best option. My only issue is the price! $25 per entry. Yikes!
