However so far, I've yet to find one that fits me perfectly plus I also have loads of winter and outdoor jackets built up the last few years. It is a place I do stroll through here every once in a while to see what options are available. They had a good selection of all their typical outerwear for skiing, hiking or whatever you do outdoors to protect yourself from the elements. One thing I did notice at the back section of the mens is that they had a new lineup of more professional looking jackets and outerwear. Something you could possibly wear with a suit or to a business meeting. Interesting to see they have created a more formal wear outdoor lineup. Pricing is still at the highest end of the market when it comes to outerwear. Also rarely do you see Arc'Terryx on sale. Similar to the pricing strategy that Apple uses. I did however find a schweet deal on a pair of cool Vasque outdoor running shoes. For $39 you can't go wrong. Just a shade over $42 taxes in. Regular they were $129 so I consider this an awesome deal! If you can afford the price or spend lots of time outside treat yourself to something here. You know you deserve it!

The 10% discount referenced is an offer the store makes available to customers generally and does not change the nature of my concern. The shoes were purchased as a gift, so presentation matters. The manufacturer's tag was torn off and left loose inside the box. While the shoes themselves were in good condition, receiving them this way was disappointing, particularly for a gift. This is something that should have been noticed before shipping. What I found particularly surprising was the store's refusal to cover the return shipping cost, despite the tag arriving detached. The subsequent response also shifted the focus onto me for raising the issue, rather than acknowledging my concern about how the shoes were shipped. My concern was never about the quality of the shoes, but their presentation and how the situation was handled. Ultimately, this experience fell short of my expectations for both product presentation and customer service.

I decided to try on something different, but was having an issue where the 9's were fitting weird in the heel whereas the 9.5's felt snug, and I was trying to figure out why. After explaining this to both the lady who was helping me and a man who appeared to be a manager(?), the man leans over to the lady and whispers "he's crazy", and then goes on to say in a lower voice that "he'll probably try all these on and just buy the initial pair" (the shoes I came back to buy). First I'll just say that it was pretty clear that there was a fit issue, as it was easily demonstrable by me trying the two shoes on and lifting my heel. I really wish he had of looked at the issue and tried to figure it out, instead of just explaining what a heel counter was and how Onitsuka's don't have them (it was two sizes of the same shoe so this is irrelevant). The lady, by contrast, provided constructive comments like 'try to really tighten the lower laces to push your foot back'. I've worked this job, and I know how customers can be a pain. And if you're not gonna be helpful, the least you can do is not make such comments within earshot of the customer. Or, maybe in French, as at least I wouldn't understand it. It was a huge turn off and I likely won't be going back, which is unfortunate because this place has an awesome show selection and the people are generally super helpful.

I almost gave up but my fingers were numb, so I tried the last store in the "Time Out Mall" @ Decathlon; in Montreal. I bought (3) different types of winter gloves which totaled $93 , (1) Wedze, (2) Forclaz, I was happy w/ my purchases. I walked around & found lots of sports items too @ Decathlon. My absolute, without a doubt FAVORITE shoe is the Skechers Winsor Moreno Black. I would buy them all the time and wear them until the soles were worn all the way through. Well, Skechers discontinued that shoe a few years ago and I could not find them anywhere. The thought of buying a used pair off ebay (eww) was a line I would NEVER cross. Anyway, after coming across a bunch of online stores that said they carried the shoe, but worrying me because they had really shady looking websites, I came across J Scherter's website. I did a google search and found that it was an actual store. That was a plus! Further google searches revealed that it was a family owned store...I love family businesses - Another plus! Then I saw it was in Canada. I would have stopped right there but they had my shoes....my favorite shoes! The price was comparable to other sites which were sold out, so I figure "why not"... They accept PayPal payments on their site.....awesome! I bought the shoes, and immediately received an email from J Schreter that the order was received and that I would get follow ups when shipped. I got the follow up the next morning with the tracking info. After that I got periodic PayPal updates on where the shoe was while en route. Fast forward 5 days and they arrived at my door safe and sound! The shoes were in their original Skechers shoebox and there was even a thank you note from the current owner, Steve Schreter.

Really wanted. We did find it elsewhere but when we tried to return the original pair the same day, we where told NO Refunds. This is not how you stay in business. I was very dissatisfied with this and will never return. Prices where good and I was thinking g if making a league purchase with them but this bad experience means I will NEVER GO BACK. Now I'll have to market place or eBay the other pair and hope I can recover my money.
