Middleton really is going up in the world, in the past few years we've got a Tesco with a cafe in, a Costa Coffee and a KFC and now we have a Sports Direct, and I can't help but wonder why it has took so long to get a Sports Direct store, with their store fitting in to the market of Middleton and the lack of a store like this in Middleton.
The location here is reasonable, but still it is a bit of a trek to get to, being on the top floor with car parking outside, on the same row as Argos and Iceland.
The store itsself is quite a small store, but they still manage to fit a lot in, on one side it is quite nice with a good range of shoes, but the other side it is typical Sports Direct with cheap looking clothing, meant to be cool and sporty, spread out like a jumble sale.
The staff here seemed okay which is unusual for Sports Direct with most of the staff on zero-hour contracts, to the point where they are actually under scrutiny with Parliament at the moment, with their controversial owner Mike Ashley.
This store is okay but still it doesn't excite me like a new store does, and it simply is below average for a Sports Direct store, their "Grand opening" wasn't very good either, with it barely being broadcast, which means they just wanted to blend in and not stand out, and that is what this store is, below average and certainly doesn't warrant any higher than 2 stars. read more
