They're meant to stop you getting too hurt when you fly off your bike going at a ridiculous speed around a corner in the Lake District.

The location here is reasonable, but still it is a bit of a trek to get to, being on the top floor with car parking outside, on the same row as Argos and Iceland. The store itsself is quite a small store, but they still manage to fit a lot in, on one side it is quite nice with a good range of shoes, but the other side it is typical Sports Direct with cheap looking clothing, meant to be cool and sporty, spread out like a jumble sale. The staff here seemed okay which is unusual for Sports Direct with most of the staff on zero-hour contracts, to the point where they are actually under scrutiny with Parliament at the moment, with their controversial owner Mike Ashley. This store is okay but still it doesn't excite me like a new store does, and it simply is below average for a Sports Direct store, their "Grand opening" wasn't very good either, with it barely being broadcast, which means they just wanted to blend in and not stand out, and that is what this store is, below average and certainly doesn't warrant any higher than 2 stars.

When i asked them to elaborate they said he is more interested in gossiping outside rather than showing any interest in his customers. As i alluded to earlier he does offer a fair price but theres not much to compare him too and when i sent my nephews bike in he actually took nearly a week to replace 2 wheels, not sure if him locking up earlier than he advertises has anything to do with it. He does do sales but basically he will just show you a catalogue and he orders it in. I have to say that his prices are reasonable on sales also, i paid £200 for 3 kids bikes which is not bad. All in all not a bad place but think it could be better, in particular the service. A bit of competition is what is needed i think.

JD Sports were founded in 1981 with their first store on Oxford Street in London, and have since gone on to be based in Bury and have gone on to be a nationwide brand, even buying out other stores including Cloggs and Bank Stores. This store in particular is located inside Spindells Shopping Center in Oldham, this store is relatively small, and specialists in trainers. Even though I am not a fashion guru, most of the shoes here I didn't like, and the ones I have seen in the past were not comfortable at all, they don't have a great selection of wide, comfortable shoes here. The rest of the range is a small selection of sportsgear which is also very poor, they have a small selection of football shirts, they seem to have most things here, but it just isn't good enough, with a poor selection and even on some items, they are quite pricey. I have often left here disappointing, not being able to get something or with a certain product they did have, meaning this store has become less and less of a "store to visit" for me, with Sports Direct in Oldham appearing a better store, although here isn't set out like such a big mess, and a jumble sale, and although it isn't perfect, the layout is definitely better. It is an "OK" store but it is just that, and it is sadly definitely below average, therefore I feel I can only give 2 stars.
