The first time, I asked a the "hat manager" (as she presented herself to me) for help finding a specific golf hat that was in stock, and she told me it was there and obviously did not want me to assist me. Then got upset when I went off and looked for the hat myself because I was apparently messing her display..which wasn't. Needless to say I found the hat behind a different brand. Then she refused to serve me at the cash and asked another employee to. The second time, while I was shopping, another male red headed employee rudely said to me, "Are you going to move? I need to get by." Who speaks to customers like that? No one came to help us out. I came in ready to purchase golf clubs for my daughter, but after being treated so poorly, I decided to take my business elsewhere and buy online from another company. Staff clearly need customer service training. I will not be returning!!! The staff were unhelpful, disrespectful, and made what should have been a simple shopping experience frustrating and unpleasant.

The service has always been friendly and knowledgeable. They provide repair and maintenance services with a 24-hour turnaround time. Trek is an established brand and it's not low-end stuff, so the prices aren't going to be like buying a Schwinn at Canadian Tire. Same goes for the gear. There are sales and clearance items, but it still won't be cheap. An accessory like one Pirelli Race tire runs about $130 before tax. On the other hand, if you're not a novice and looking to level up, you should include this store on your list of shops/products to research. Solid shop.

Having said that, those of us who celebrate Christmas tend to prefer making gift shopping as easy (and painless) as possible so, I went for a spin inside. It's a nice, large space (which is technically shared with the Tip Top brand, so it's really two stores inside, although it's owned/operated together.) There were a couple of staff on the floor and I approached the first I saw. I stated my purpose and he directed me accordingly. As I browsed, I selected the size that would likely fit my recipient. As we moved to cash out, it was discovered that there was a pricing discrepancy. He said he needed to clear the chargeout price with his manager, who okayed the lower price on display (but only because it was on the shirt size I actually needed.) I asked about a gift receipt (and was asked to provide my e-mail address in return. This entitles you to get 10% off your first/next purchase.) I was not, however, offered the free gift box that I was entitled to as well. I only found out about it because I decided to take advantage of the opportunity in the store to cross another recipient's gift off my list, and bought an additional item. This time, the manager checked me out, provided me with my gift receipt, and offered the box - at which point, I asked How much?, and she simply replied, free. I like the fact that this chain has retail stores in several locations and that my recipients can adjust their gifts if necessary; however, I'm not sure I'd enjoy a return shopping experience.
