I have had yet another unfortunate surprise from Spokane Dentures And Implants, which is associated with Tacoma Dentures And Implants, Vis-à-vis" Dr Moorhead.
"Tell Dr. Moorhead that one of her patients in Spokane named Joshua lost his job because she wouldn't approve a three day extension for on a leave of absence for my job, in spite of the fact that I still had some pain and the swelling still had not yet gone down. I wasn't told until 3 days after the fact , when Leah called to tell me that he Dr would not approve those3 days, even though when, the week before , I asked the Spokane office people, about an extension, they seemed to have no problem with the idea. Also, side note, my job requires an ability to focus well because patient safety is at risk if I don't stay focused, and having a dull ache throughout the whole day is a distraction that reduces my ability to provide safe patient care..
I did end up going to work anyway, as soon as Leah notified me that the doctor wouldn't approve those days . I just loading up on Advil and was OK. However, I would've went back to work three days earlier had I known that the doctor would not approve that extension. Plus, I was told by my HR people that that I needed to get a return to work date from the doctor, which I did not yet get until three days after the fact.
Communication was the biggest problem with the Spokane Dentures and Dr. Moorhead.
She could've at least briefly communicated directly with me, asking what my symptoms were, and in a much more timely fashion, but she did not, I'm was told that the Spokane office had to talk or email or chat with her many times before she finally even returned the leave of absence paperwork to my HR people.
I saved $$9000 cash, and took out an $11,000 loan to get this all on 4 procedure done, and was told what I should expect before I took out the loan, but that changed after I took out the loan. The entire process was quite different from what I was told it would be, including 5 days without any teeth, when I was previously told that I would have them on the same day of the surgery
Dr. Moorehead,. I think you should just pass me off to some other local doctor, and let them complete the process because you obviously don't care about your patients. I suppose I really should blame myself for even doing the procedure at all. I should've simply canceled it after noticing some red flags and the last-minute changes in plans. but I had already taken out the loan and I was told a certain things were gonna happen in a certain way though that's not how they happened at all. Plus, there were other red flags with that office that had nothing to do with Dr. Moorhead. First, they lost one doctor, apparently the one who was going do my procedure, and another thing was a lack of communication on a different issue. Also, some aspects of the office itself seemed to be set up by the seat of their pants. For example, they had a tourniquet tied to the light above me in the procedure room from which they were hanging the anesthesia or something else. In that moment, I thought 'wow that's a little bit wild that they don't have the proper equipment to hang up Anesthesia, or whatever. Nothing should be tied up like that from a piece of rubber tourniquet They should have proper equipment to do that . Anyway, I should've thought carefully about everything, and simply canceled the procedure altogether, but I had already taken out the loan, and didn't know if I could return it anyway by that time, I was already kind of excited to get this done, and there was momentum, but I should've paused, thought again and tried to return that loan. Anyway, I think it would be best if Dr. Morehead has a local doctor complete the process because I really don't want to see somebody in who caused me to lose my job. I did have swelling and pain for nearly a whole month after the procedure, in fact only last weekend, finally a lot of swelling went down after which I had to come in again to get these tightened for a third time , and had Dr. Morehead spoken to me even once after the procedure she could've at least told me, "no, don't those 3 days off," but she did not .
I was told by my job that the return to work date had to be determined by the doctor, but the doctor didn't tell me anything until it was too late, and in the end she didn't return the paperwork for nearly a month.
So now because I was working for a soulless corporation and they have their black and white policies, I am terminated because of those three days that Dr. Morehead did not approve.
I do have to say that at the very least, Leah has appeared to be professional and communicative, as much as she can be because she can't really answer some questions as she's a clerk and not a doctor, yet she seems to have tried to express my case to the Dr, but the reply was too late and too little. so now, I'm here hoping for the best and discovering the worst. read more
