The Spokane County Jail is one of the absolutely worst places you could ever be thrown in thanks to a corrupt criminally retarded inefficient department known as the Spokane Police Department who are civil rights violators. This abomination of a "Jail" is considered one of the worst jails in North America. Truly a disturbing sight to encounter by how insanitary and into cruel and unusual punishment that these particular "Officers" are into. They treat people very badly. You will be thrown into insanitary conditions and be locked in a jail cell without your due process and miranda warnings even mattering. They don't even care if you invoke your fifth amendment right to remain silent. You are guilty on suspicion, by erroneous reports, and by their own racist agenda. You will have no way at all to dispute the charges. Making it clear that committing a misdemeanor for reasons under color of law is an acceptable practice in Spokane. You are guilty and are treated exactly as a felon on one first impression with these nationally hated goons from the sewer. The Police do this because their revenue is more important and you are just another number to be called all kinds of very hateful and prejudicial names by the very sewer that follows in their foot steps. This is what Spokane really represents itself as. You will not be allowed to call anybody or to even schedule a ride to pick you up. They will confiscate your phone and never allow you to use it again. You will be sent back to walk all the way home in freezing conditions for dozens of miles while the sewer that is directly responsible for this laughs from a very disturbing antisocial environment existing solely to make fun of you for imposing their bigoted beliefs about where you deserve to end up by playing god with you just for "Shits and giggles". The worst part of this whole thing is that this is entirely based on a true story and the entire spokane police department, the sewer, and the county jail system really stink like the second-rate pieces of shit that they are. read more

Years ago I was a first timer treated like a felon, my money was stolen from me by the cops, I was refused use of my only way to communicate, my coclear implant so I could hear, my glasses so I could see what they were after many attempts finally written something on a paper so I could get a question answered AND denied my rights as a deaf person when they took forever to find a TTY so I could make a call and as a result I was denied the 15 minutes I was supposed to get because of their ineptitude not for anything I did while waiting very patiently for a TTY so I could actually call someone. Worst part was arriving and having to disrobe in front pf a bunch of male and female officers who ogled me while I did so. After spending a night and making my appearance and even after Id posted bail I was not let out until after midnight on a week night not being told what I needed to do or if anyone was waiting for me which there wasn't cuz they (my family) were not able to get a time from the cops when I was going to be released. As a result I had to walk in pitch black dark to get to Division and walk to a gas station to ask the person there to call for me. I swore if I was assaulted when I was walking to the store I would sue Spokane County's ass big time but it never happened thankfully. The less dealing I have to do with Spokane county in ANY way the better. They are NOT human, dont care about anything but themselves and are full of hate. Sick people being paid by Spokane County tax payers which I used to be but never again. I move the hell out of Spokane as fast as I could! read more

The law enforcement that run this place steal from you, treat you horribly and are completely dishonest. You guys are a huge disappointment to this state.... even this country. I hope karma bites you guys 10 fold. My husband didn't even get pulled over... he was sitting in a parking lot trying to get ahold of me bc he was too drunk to drive. After a police officer had pulled somebody else over decided to walk over and not only harass my husband but arrest his and stole all the money he had which was probably close to 500 from winning at a casino. The judge thank God ended up releasing him but were on our way to get his truck out of impound and the police officers left his windows on his truck while it was parked in the Walmart parking lot for about 7 hours before getting towed to the most expensive tow place ever!!!! So I still dont know if all of our things (literally all of our things because we were moving....) are stolen or not. I'll find out soon though. The tow place cost us 500.... which is the amount we had stolen by that awful police officer. So now were $1000 out just bc the cop wanted to harass my husband. How dare you guys you should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm not going to list the officers name but he will be paying his dues for this. read more

Let me just start by saying this is rated as one of the 12 worst jail in the country....they are completely understaffed. Government employees are exactly like welfare. We work our asses off so over competent people in the justice system can sit back on their asses and enjoy their day leisurely.my fiance was arrested last night for kicking in a door to a guy who choked out my sister and tried to hurt my ten year old nephew. I have been told three Times now by the staff that he was supposed to see a judge between 1-5 and due to the fact that he has ZERO criminal history he would most likely go home. It is now seven thirty and he hasn't seen a judge. HIRE MORE PEOPLE WE PAY FOR IT ANYWAYS SO GIVE US WHAT WE WANT. Just because your in the judicial system does not give you the right to be a lazy guy in a chair all day. They all need to remember that this is the job they signed up for. my 5 stars are for McGovern, Kuntz, mindy, Carley, and the other nurses. elsasor, you would be decent if you didn't throw everyones stuff everywhere while doing room searches....disrespectful. other than that u ok too. .....sgt. Hobbs can't tell his dick from his toes.... the food is so bad we have to pray before and after the meals. oh and morris, thank you for being really decent, too. oh the toilets are like that goat in river front park, no trash too big to go down those thrones...everyone in the kitchen should jump off a bridge including inmates. The Spokane County Jail is run by a bunch of dishonest corrupt individuals Law Enforcement Officers who are no better than the the poor homeless & disabled citizens they target. Just keep in mind you only get as much justice as you can afford at the Spokane County Courthouse if the citizens believe that the police are the only problem in this town they are sadly mistaken it goes all the way up to the BENCH where the police receive their orders "go get them boys" here are a few things to keep in mind " you are not supposed to break the law while enforcing the law" then "criminals should not be administering Justice" an every day occurrence which is an open secret at the Spokane County Courthouse.
