Authentic Dominican/Caribbean food in Willowbrook. Who knew?…read more I remember this place from a birthday party decades ago. The space was a bit bigger (they've since redesigned it smaller), but the crowds were smaller. Success hasn't tarnished their food. It was a very rainy and soggy afternoons and the place was packed. We managed a table and ordered. Can't go wrong with the delicious shrimp mofongo. I honestly think the sauce is the icing on that cake, made all the more delicious with a squeeze of lemon. Whew! Service was fast and dinner came out at a reasonable pace. The owner is so friendly and stopped by our table to make sure things were good. Better than good! If you're in the Willowbrook area do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch or dinner. Prices are a little steep, but what's isn't these days?

I ordered the pollo guisado and moro, both were good and we have a little left over. My partner ordered the pica pollo and the fried chicken was decent. The food does take some time, and servers did not check in too often so I would recommend ordering ahead of time (unless you have a long lunch break), There are plenty of tables, but it is a little dark inside, 2 bathrooms inside. The juice was on the sweet side so just watered it down (wish they have smoothies), but they get 5 stars overall for the flavor and the price point. Plenty of parking as it's in located along other stores.

I had a Fall Mule that was infused with chai and cinnamon- like fall in a cup! The caipirinha was a refreshing change from my usual margarita. Ceviche was fresh and I liked the corn nuts- unexpected and nice texture. Plantain chips and fried pork belly took the guacamole to another level. The empanada trio- all 3 flavors were great. Flaky crust. Will absolutely get again. Ambience- slow on a Tuesday at 6 pm but was picking up when we left at 7. Plenty of tables inside and out. Nice but casual setting.

Ask for him if you ever go there. This is an A-La-Carte restaurant, so you order and pay at the table. 2. Price - inexpensive, but can add up. It's $10-$22 per tapas. For a family of 5, we had about 7 different tapas. 3. Ambiance - hip, cute, and cozy. Definitely a great place to bring a date, meet up friends, and even a family meal. Dress code here is casual, however most people here are dressed pretty nice for a Friday evening. There is loud Latino music that puts you in a party mood. This place is fun with good vibes. 4. Food - our meal was delicious, I highly recommend their STEAK A LA PLANCHA and their PATATAS BRAVAS. 5. Cleanliness - this place is well managed in both dining area and restrooms. OVERALL - I would definitely return. We had a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant if you want some Spanish style food.

The staff is always friendly, and the owners are truly amazing people. We've been several times, and they never disappoint. And let me just say... Wednesdays are HALF-PRICE PUPUSAS! We love it so much that I even celebrated my birthday there last night. It was a BIG hit with our guests -- everyone loved the food just as much as we do. Go support a small, family-run business. You won't leave hungry, and you definitely won't leave disappointed. https://maps.app.goo.gl/o1gQDjAZmH89JSLK7?g_st=ic

We declined another salsa since it wasn't very flavorful. Beef was tender, lacked seasoning. Rice was good, plump and didn't taste like it was reheated to the death. Beans were ok, not the best. Beef was just served with sliced onions on the cast iron serving platter. Beef was tender, hence where the three stars originated from. No other veggies served just beef and onions which became plain after a while since we opted out for the extra charge of one more inch of salsa in the small container. Tortillas were homemade, but super thick and two thumbs down. Overall the establishment had a dungeon vibe and a lot of raw wood showing, which needs staining or painting. Not the finished look customers would like to experience to pay for a dining experience. Service was friendly and our server was attentive.

I was immediately impressed with the sparkling clean interior, spicy warm aromas, and attractiveness of this restaurant. The lady working the front of the restaurant was polite and attentive. The food was wonderful. We started with beef, spinach, and chicken empanadas. Each had a crispy crust, savory filling and great dipping sauce. Next was the fish and shrimp with fried plantains... crunchy fried goodness. Our finale was the oxtail served with rice and peas, collard greens, and candied yams. Nothing beats a good serving of oxtails and these were good. I will have to visit their Missouri City location the next time I am in the mood for soul food in a Carribbean flair.

I'm not from the Dominican Republic, but I grew up eating this food, as a girl from Queens, who would eat at my friend's house, after school, and her abuela was always cooking the best home cooked rice and beans, and tender arroz con pollo. I drove out here about 40 minutes from Southwest Houston and was very happy with my meal! TY Comfort Foodies! Bonus mention-- the tres leches cake for dessert... YES. Get it. They also have a kids menu, and lunch specials. Yay for that! Not many places have it anymore!
