My daughter came here to have her oral surgery. She needed to get all four of her wisdoms teeth removed. My insurance provided us with an oral surgeon, but he travels to different locations. We ended up at this location. The facility is nice. The waiting room is very large, and in the shape of a rectangle. My daughter was a bit nervous considering that she would be put to sleep, but the assistants were very pleasant The surgery was about one hour. I received detailed information on how to care for her while she recovers. The place is up to date and appears to have state of the art equipment. read more

Nice facilities and nice dentist. But they charged $7 for PPE (personal protective equipment), even though I had specially said I only want what's covered by insurance and nothing more and they had said ok before I went in. PPE isn't covered by insurance. And it is mandatory surcharge by then that they told me about only after giving me the bill. I asked which piece of equipment was the PPE. They said it's everything. Ha! Would've been nice to have received that note when we had the discussion about not being charged for anything not covered by insurance. Seriously messed up way of doing business. They say every patient has to pay it. But the disclosure upfront is what I'm not happy about. It's deceptive. And furthermore I called my insurance company afterwards and they said the dentist isn't allowed to bill for PPE to their in-network patients. The dentist didn't submit a claim for it either so it would never get on the insurance company's radar. And moreover they billed my insurance company for a panoramic X-ray they never took. I brought my own from just a few months earlier. I told them I didn't need or want one. They said fine, before entering, when sitting in the X-ray chair and when I left. They didn't take one. And when I left they said they didn't bill for one. I saw the invoice said $0 for me, for insurance and fee - all $0. Yet when I looked at my insurance statement they billed me for it! Crooks. Seriously. Just fraud all around. Really upsets me that they feel they need to do this to folks. read more

Came here for a 2PM appointment with my partner and after an hour and a half he was still waiting for a cleaning. When asked when he would be able to be seen by the doctor, the front desk receptionist stated it would be a while...keep in mind he was the only person coming in the office at the time of his appointment with the doctor with one other patient. What is the point of setting appointment times when the wait is almost 2 hours for a cleaning! Very unprofessional to assume people don't have other things to do with their time. Highly do not recommend coming to this dentist! read more

So disappointed with this office. I stayed with them several years too long and am so much happier at my new dentist. The final straw was a scheduling error between the dentist and endodontist offices (which share the same front desk) to where I was not only severely inconvenienced, but also was ridiculed by Maryann, Dr. Viviane Bouchara's office manager. It was the most unprofessional encounter I have ever experienced in health care, and I am a medical practitioner myself. I also got several erroneous bills after I transitioned my care elsewhere. Oh, and I was told I need a root canal on one tooth, a filling on another, and that I have some decay on another. I went to a new (phenomenal) dentist who said a root canal was far from necessary and there was no cavity on the other tooth mentioned. Oh, and by the way, they charge an extra $9 cash pay for every visit for PPE and blame it on COVID. I will avoid corporate dentistry in the future and feel as if the decisions are made based on making money. read more

DO NOT LET DR. RAMIN MOTAMEDI NEAR YOUR MOUTH. Hi! I havent been to the dentist in a while, quite frankly they scare me. When I found this place I was ecstatic to be greeted by a staff who seemingly cared. Fast forward: I needed a root canal. They said Dr. Ramin Motamedi could do it. Now I have horrible anxiety about any unfamiliar situation to begin with, but was reassured he knew what he was doing. Ill look up my bill later and post the exact amount I was charged for this hack job of a dentist, but needless to say it was expensive. I went back 2 times after the initial procedure complaining of pain in the molar he did the procedure on, the first time while I had my TEMPORARY crown. He told me the crown was "more than likely uneven" and filed it down to size, as well as the tooth above it which showed clear signs of minor decay amd wouldn't listen when I told him it was painful for him to file. The SECOND time I went back they had already put the permanent crown on. I could not eat, touch, or have anything on that side of my mouth with the pain I was in. I received an xray of my mouth with a simple explanation that "whoever" did my root canal didn't do it correctly and I needed to see a specialist. MIND YOU this is Dr. Motamedi telling me this himself WITHOUT reminding me hes the one who did the procedure WITHOUT KNOWING HOW. (CYA, am I right Dr.?) Besides that fact, the staff WOULD NOT respond to my emails or phone calls begging to talk to somebody about what happened! (Thanks Trevor! Great customer service!) I saw the specialist who then told me that DR. RAMIN MOTAMEDI left NECROTIC TISSUE in my permanently capped tooth! Not just a little, mind you, but OVER HALF THE ROOT WAS DEAD AND INFECTED. I had to undergo TWO EXTREMELY painful procedures after all of this to remove the dead nerve endings in my tooth. The first procedure the specialist couldn't even clean it all out because of the immense pain I was in. Imagine having slowly rotting and infected tissue piling on top of dead tissue because you trusted a "professional"? I was charged around $500 extra for these procedures because Splendid Dental can't be bothered to vet their doctors. I did some research on this man, come to find out he just graduated in 2019 with little experience. (But his Google page will count his years in dental school as professional experience.) Unfortunately I've waited a while to post this due largely to the fact I had to go to another sibling branch to get all of this fixed, and really who wants to write an honest review about a HORRIBLE dentist while their affiliates work in your mouth. Now, I'm a reasonable person, I could have accepted a sincere apology about this Dr.'s lack of knowledge to fix my tooth, a refund of the money I spent on a bum procedure and the extra money I was forced to spend to have this man's mistake fixed, but no. The office manager ignored my messages, my emails, my calls and just passed me off to someone who actually had the knowledge to fix what his staff broke. Save your money, go to a real dental office who cares about their patients. Dr. Ramin Motamedi and the staff at this "Splendid" Dental office do not care about you, they only care about your money, and when you are high and dry having spent your last penny having their mistake fixed, Trevor the office manager will simply send you away without answering a single message. read more

I scheduled my appointment over a week in advance and took off work for a teeth cleaning. Received 2 email confirmations of date and time. I arrive and fill out the forms before waiting about 15 minutes. After waiting I'm told I don't have an appointment. I show them the email and the desk attendant basically says oh you're the second person this has happened to today. He then proceeds to tell me they can't see me today but he could call me back with another time. Don't waste your time trying to go here. read more

This place really cares about their patients!! I highly recommend using them for your dental care. They are so knowledgeable and take the time to answer every question you have! They also have these huge screens that show your xrays so you can see exactly what they are talking about and you don't have to squint! If you go to this practice please check your bill! I went in for a deep cleaning and 3 filing repairs. I was told I needed to pay $700 out of pocket because the refused to take my secondary insurance. I was scheduled for the deep cleaning and paid the portion they claimed I owed, $300. They said they ran my primary insurance and that was my out of pocket. Not knowing better, I paid. Then they said they wanted to change one filing to a crown. The price for just the crown was $700 out of pocket. Needing to be reimbursed by my secondary, I scheduled that for another day. A month after the deep cleaning they still hadn't submitted the bill to my primary so my secondary couldn't reimburse me. When they finally submitted it, my insurance informed me that I was only supposed to be charged $100 out of pocket. The dental office didn't even bother putting the disinfecting wash onto the bill they sent, assuming it wasn't covered because in actuality they didn't run my insurance. I was finally refunded the $200 they overcharged me (and $200 for my husband who they overcharged as well). I asked my insurance how much I would be charged for a crown, it was only $240. I scheduled my appointment for the crown and filings. When I arrived, they told me they forgot to inform me of some "labs" they needed to do for the crown. The code they were attempting to get me to pay for wasn't even a dental code. They REFUSED to send it to my insurance and wanted me to pay the $700 upfront for the crown& "labs". I walked out fearing I was being used in sort of insurance fraud. If I wouldn't had looked at my bill, I would have been swindled out of thousands by the time it was done. Also, it is illegal for them to charge you and extra $5 every time you go for extra Covid-19 precautions/ cleaning. Please save your time, money and sanity; just don't go to this scam artist of a dental practice. read more

I moved to Houston just over a year ago and hadn't had time to get a check-up since the move. I didn't have much motivation to go because I've always hated the dentist... I mean, who doesn't? Eventually though it had been long enough without a check-up and a co-worker highly recommended Splendid Dental Care on Richmond. I figured I would check the place out. Wow, I've found my dentist office in Houston. The appointment was great and I've never had a more comfortable time at the dentists office! Cindy, the assistant was great at keeping me at ease while she explained the process. Marielle, the dental hygienist, gave me a great teeth cleaning that didn't cause me any discomfort! When I was leaving I met the manager Trevor... he had a nice smile and was very polite :). I will definitely come back to Splendid Dental Care on Richmond! read more

Splendid dental care is a new dental practice off of Richmond and Wesleyan. The facilities are immaculate, and very relaxing. My son really enjoyed his visit. They have tvs in the exam room and sunglasses for the kids to wear. What I really appreciated was that when they do a procedure, they run the costs by you ahead of time. Be careful when you go to this place. Maybe because they just opened they want to do as much work on people as possible. My first time coming to this place and the staff was very friendly but after my exam it seemed like all they wanted was money from me. It had been a while since I had gone to the dentist but they went a bit overboard on the amount of work they said I needed. The dr pretty much said I had a mouth full of cavities ("every tooth that touched another tooth had one" exact words), needed several crowns, also needed a root canal maybe even two! I knew I would need some work being that I hadn't been in a while but that was outrageous. Thankfully I got a second opinion at a different office and all I really needed was old fillings replaced and new cavities taken care of. read more

The doctors and staff were very helpful as a new patient I felt comfortable and informed of the process at splendid. It can be difficult switching from a physician you know well to a new physician. However the doctor made me comfortable with his treatment plan for my teeth. I learned a lot from the dental hygienist in proper teeth maintenance and I will be returning again to learn more. Today I visited Splendid Dental Care on Richmond. The lady taking my xrays and photos was great. Proceeded to the cleaning and the dentist comes in and tell me she will be do the cleaning (which is weird because that is the hygienist role). She tells me it's been years since she has cleaned and her specialty is cosmetic dentistry. As she begins to clean my teeth, she causes pain, very rough, and i told her it hurt. She just stopped and never said a word to me; the lady that took the photos came in and the dentist asked her to finish the cleaning. Then the dentist left. Once the cleaning was done, the lady who took my photos starting explaining to me that I needed a crown replaced and giving her "medical" recommendations. I said the dentist is supposed to explain this not the "hygienist." She proceeded to tell me that the dentist was busy and that's why she was explaining my X-ray results. When I checked out, I let the manager know I was not happy and would not be back. Splendid dental do better and only have the appropriate people in their professional roles to provide adequate patient care. read more
