The Littledown centre is centrally located near the hospiatl in Bournemouth. There is plenty of…read morefree parking attached to the centre. There is a wide range of activities available to use within the centre including swimming and parties etc. We often visit for the swimming and find the facilities to be good. The pools are heated well and you have free use of the water slides at certain times. The prices for swimming are higher than other areas but the atmosphere and staff aid the high price by making us feel welcome. The changing rooms could be a bit cleaner at busy times but we always let the staff know when they need a touch up.

Planners would benefit in adding a picnic area and kids playground as there is nothing like that available down there, unless you count the new indoor play area for children but again this costs, and adults also have to pay to go in. Quasar type of game is also available in the same building as play area, but again it is pricey.. Tips I can give for locals and holiday makers is the cinema does hold a juniour empire session where for a pound each adults and children can watch a choice of 2 films, which the cinema choose to show, these can sometimes be very recent ones and our shown only at 10.30am on a sat or a sun..

Alongside them is a Tesco extra superstore and petrol station, its worth a look if in the area, just look for Poole's water tower.(For those who don't know it looks like a large concrete wine glass !!!!) There is a section for under a certain age, but otherwise you've got a mix of two year olds to around six. Disastrous. If I ever left my daughter while I sat to chat to another parent, she would sooner or later come out in tears. If I stayed in there with her, I seemed to perpetually need to free her from the grasp of another child or repeat 'Please don't do that to my child' like a record stuck in a groove. Daughter is too big now, and has plenty of interests elsewhere. Oh relief! It is rather expensive, and costly in socks too as they have to remove their shoes - small mercy. It's not good to go on impulse as there seem to be lessons going on all the time! The staff are not fantastic by any means, but if you have no questions you should do fine!

And the vending machines all so stock all unhealthy food.. As for staff stay away from the reception desk and you will be fine, lifeguards are friendly though and helpful..
