One of the many ice cream shops on the Homer Spit. The shop is tiny and so are the scoops. I always get a baby scoop anyway because I'm lactose intolerant, but I was insulted by the size of the scoop... meh. The icecream is not locally made, but it did seem to be fresh and free of ice crystals. I heard one woman comment she was thankful they offered options for kids with food allergies- she mentioned something about it being individually wrapped ... although I didnt see that on a menu anywhere. I did appreciate that they had a 2 outlets so my family could charge our phones while we woofed down our cones. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, although both are quite limited. read more

Very few flavors and a couple of them were completely gone, so even less to choose from. I'm NOT one to turn down ice cream, but I was so underwhelmed by the flavor choices that I didn't bother getting any ice cream for myself and just let me kids get some. I did appreciate the reasonable price ($3) for the kids scoop. read more

Ice cream is good but the name is disgusting. Makes me sick to my stomach every time I drive by it . Wish they would consider renaming it . All of my friends and coworkers agree that the name is vile . Not appetizing . read more

6 years ago this place was poppin' and it's only gotten better today. The best milkshakes in Alaska hands down. Freshly made waffle cones on site!! You can't beat that inviting aroma! The owner is the friendliest, most accommodating flavor engineer and she always has a smile when you hit that door. First place I'm hitting as soon as I'm off the plane :) read more

Oh my god, I can't believe they take the name "Spit Licks" literally. My boyfriend and I went here, and after the girl scooped his ice cream cone and handed it to him, she LICKED THE DRIPPED ICE CREAM OFF OF HER HAND, looked me in the eye and asked what I wanted! I was STUNNED! Part of me wanted to smack the ice cream out of my boyfriend's hand, but since I was so startled and still processing the image of her tongue slurping her bare fingers, I presumed she was going to wash her hands when she turned around. So, like a non-confrontational person that I am, I gave my order while her back was turned at the sink. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! She did NOT wash her hands; she only grabbed a napkin to use as a microscopic shield between the ice cream cone and her slobbery hand. Holy ice cream, I will never, ever, ever, ever come here.
