Was told no delivery today which is fine, asked about tomorrow. Was put on hold and then told I am now outside the delivery area and would have call back, pay extra, and schedule for next Saturday. I explained I've been a customer for many years and I live in Bellport which is not far. The girl on the phone came back at me stating I am 20 minutes away and could call back during the week to discuss it with 'Jim.' Why in the world would a business talk to a long term customer this way?! Was I supposed to call back and beg 'Jim' to let me buy wine from him. I guess they don't need customers. Called Sunwave and had my delivery within an hour and with a better price!

My name is Jared and I have a problem…read more.. I can't enjoy Whiskey anymore unless it comes straight from a bottle of 1792 Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey. I was leaving my friends house over in Sayville and as I was walking towards the LIRR, a really clean looking hightop van caught my eye in a parking lot across the street (#vanlife). As I crossed the street, I noticed J & J Spirt Shop and walked in out of curiosity. And again, just for curiosity's sake of course... I asked if they carried 1792 Whiskey. Ok to be honest, I actually asked if they carried "1702" Whiskey but they kindly and politely corrected me (I was exhausted so let's call it a brainfart) and quickly presented me with a bottle. I knew I was running low on the bottle I have at home (it lasted me quite a while folks!) and since the price was quite right, I decided to buy one. I was tempted to buy two because again, at 34.99, it felt like a deal. I've actually purchased the same exact 750ml bottle for $40 pre-tax at other stores. There is also a really cool looking cigar shop next door. Had I not been in hurry to catch my train and had one waiting for me at home, I would have certainly stopped in. When I got home, I popped the bottle in the freezer (this probably goes against whiskey code but I like my drinks cold but without ice) and enjoyed it with my cigar. Cigars and Whiskey... yup it's official... I've become my grandpa! Spark notes version: 5 stars for a really clean, local liquor store that has a large selection with good prices and is run by super nice folks

Because of your high ratings, it convinced me to try this little place out over some of the other options and you weren't wrong! Facing one of the busier streets here in the city, Mora's seems pretty unassuming on the outside. I parked in the back back behind the bank parking spaces and walked myself over. I was looking to pick up a couple bottles of wine. I didn't expect much as often times these small town businesses don't carry what I'm looking for. I headed back to the store where they had the champagne (it was new years after all) and I wasn't disappointed! Some of the most famous French champagnes were back there so I was encouraged. I decided to explore their red section. Even though their French reds were all contained to a single shelf, they had some of the famous French chateaus many of which I have only seen in Paris. For example, the Rhone region of Chateauneuf du pape... they have a few bottles there! Fantastic wine and loved it. Of course they had beautiful examples of Washington and California wines as well. Their service was friendly and prices decent (not the best I've seen but good enough!). Grateful that they were as it worked out well for the gifts that I bought friends and family. Would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area!

Prices are reasonable, most other places up charge by a few dollars. Also very nice selection of wines, vodka, etc. And good selection of small bottles behind the counter. (other places don't always have what you want or don't stock enough) Check this place out for sure!!!

The place is beautiful inside and has a small seating area. It's a bit intimidating at first because it looks very expensive. After browsing for a few minutes I realized that they carry both expensive and inexpensive wine. Yay. There is also a short flavor description next to each bottle to help you choose. The owner was very friendly and lively, and he seems like he really knows what he is talking about (I wouldn't know the difference, though...). While I was browsing a woman came in and told the owner she wanted a red wine, not too sweet, bold flavor, around $35. He immediately got up to assist her and after some conversation asked if it was okay to get a less expensive wine because he thought it would be exactly what she likes. He chose a $20 bottle for her and that is what she purchased. In no way whatsoever did he pressure her (or me) into purchasing anything expensive and he didn't scoff at the low price point. I ended up buying this Rosso for about $11. Very happy with my experience here and I'll definitely be back. It's a very pleasant place to shop.
