The sale prices were more realistic of what the real prices should have been at the start. This is the reasoning for two stars instead of one. If it's time right and you can swing in here before they close and stock up for a party you are planning or grab future party things to have then go for it. The store was still decently filled inventory wise for going out of business and said new merchandise is showing up daily. You may find some okay deals but I can understand why they are going under.

Recently I was looking for something super specific - crinkle cut paper shred filler for gift boxes and basket filling - and, to me, it made sense that Party City would be the number one place to have it. At the time I came they had two bags left: a 1-ounce bag of metallic color and a 2-ounce bag of black shreds both for $3.75. I asked if there was anything else left available (never hurts to ask, right?) and the staff told me, "What we have is what we have." ... so, not super helpful. Also, for reference, I had bought 1 pound of paper shred filler for $22.99 online. Way, way cheaper. Anyway, I looked around the entire store, and in general, it's pretty rundown. There's some specifically licensed brands here though, so I guess if you were looking for Star Wars or Frozen stuff, this would be the spot to come. But a 21 birthday party theme? An orange colored theme? A tropical theme? You can get all that stuff elsewhere for cheaper.

I was told there was another Spirit of Halloween nearby which was listed in Yelp but this one wasn't. The staff are friendly and it wasn't crowded when I went in early September. There were many displays that were all working to test out as well. Those jumping sliders and skeletons were the scariest, LOL.

I lovvvvvvvvvveeeee Halloween…read more However, I don't know if I would consider Spirit my Halloween HQ or that it's sooooooooo fun it's scary (their two catchphrases), but I do appreciate this intensely themed pop-up store by the Maine Mall that for years and years and years has appeared out of nowhere long before people are even thinking about the holiday... and disappears within a matter of seconds after the stroke of midnight on November 1st. If anything, I love just walking around this store. It's sensory overload in the best way possible: there aren't just a literal million different costumes to check out, there's also usually massive decorative displays that are all lit up and emitting crazy sounds (basically, if you can't get to a haunted hayride, Spirit is your next best option!). The staff isn't always the nicest, the prices here are on the higher side, and there's nothing here you can't just get on Amazon at a higher quality, but I've got a couple 1920's specific accessories I purchased from here years and years ago that are still in great condition (like my sweet bedazzled faux cigarette holder). All Hallows' Eve and you don't have something to wear? Venture out to Spirit to see what they have left (and enjoy how the store now has a post-apocalyptic-ravaged-grocery-store vibe to it)!

It's difficult to find words for how displeased I am with Savvy Event Rental. We had our tent,…read moretables, and chairs booked with them since November of 2021, and with 57 days until our October 1st wedding, they emailed my fiancé this past Friday afternoon to state that they had to cancel our tent, and if we wanted the tables and chairs we would need to pick up and return on our own. They alluded to being short staffed, which is very easy to understand given the times we're in, but left the email very vague and not entirely apologetic. They offered no alternative companies to reach out to, and didn't even list our names in the greeting of the email. It looked to be copied and pasted to every other 1-star reviewer who has had the same experience as us. Meanwhile, every other company we've reached out to has shown more empathy and help than the company we actually booked through, offering alternatives and expressing their sorries very genuinely. Despite being in crisis mode to find the things we need to hold our wedding for family and friends, I'm far more upset with the way Savvy has handled their business and their customers through all of this. They said they've "exhausted all options," but didn't bother to give us a heads up until they were certain they couldn't provide what we needed even though we paid a deposit and booked a year out. At the very least, a phone call with a sincere apology would have gone a longer way with me than what they've done. We didn't even get an in-person apology when we went to pick up our deposit refund at their storefront in Biddeford. I'm well aware that times are difficult for businesses at the moment and help is hard to come by. This, however, is no excuse for how they decided to handle their customer service and cancellations of the numerous large events they committed to for the remainder of the year. At this point, I'm just thankful that I wasn't one of the events that was cancelled 10-14 days out, as I can't imagine what those brides must be going through at this time. Bottom line, DO NOT utilize Savvy Event Rental unless you have a backup, and especially not if you're looking for any type of customer service or personable experience.
