I was looking for a local spot to…read moretry since the gem I found in Palo Alto was kinda far, so I stumbled on this place after a quick google search. They are very courteous people, but I just wanted to relax and enjoy the massage and calming sounds they put on. Nope, constantly asking questions I felt like it was more of an interrogation. It was questions about my personal life and work. I do not want to talk about that as this is my time . And I don't know how you tell someone that nicely, so I just rolled with it. I do not like to share certain personal things with people I do not know. I tried to be short in my answers in hopes he would figure out that I didn't want to talk, but nope it kept coming. And it is hard to talk with those covers they have on the pillow you rest your face on. The overall massage was okay. I didn't care for it .i think I would've had a better massage at Massage Envy. The mobility movements were good. But I didn't leave feeling like wow I feel so good and relaxed...that's how I felt when I left the Palo Alto spot, so I guess the hunt for a local spot continues.

Every time I come in for acupuncture with Dr. Shen, the process is smooth from start to finish. The insurance and billing process is also very easy. The front desk handles everything for me, and I only have to pay my copay, which makes each visit stress-free. I have been seeing Dr. Shen for the past couple of months and have completed about 11 treatments so far. She has helped me with several health concerns, especially my back pain, which has improved a lot since starting treatment. What surprised me most is how much she has also helped with my allergies. I can breathe so much easier now. Dr. Shen is very busy at the Pleasanton location, so sometimes I drive to the Fremont office to see her. Even though it is farther, it is absolutely worth it because she is amazing. The front desk is awesome about calling me when there are cancellations with her. My wife has also been seeing Dr. Shen for pregnancy and fertility support. We had been trying to have a baby for almost two years and had traveled countless times to Europe for IVF. After my wife saw Dr. Shen for about five treatments, she became pregnant. Dr. Shen has also helped her with migraines, which has been such a blessing for our family. What makes Dr. Shen special is that she truly takes the time to listen to her patients. She customizes every treatment and treatment plan based on our individual needs. I originally came to Eastern Medical Center for back pain, but Dr. Shen treats the body as a whole, and I really appreciate that holistic approach. I am so glad we found Eastern Medical Center and highly recommend Dr. Shen for acupuncture

I was excited to try this place for nagging shoulder pain that's been increasingly getting worse. I…read morelive close by and it's very convenient. However, I was very disappointed with my experience here, especially as someone who also works in pain relief and values Eastern medicine. * $155 for about 5 minutes with the doctor * No real shoulder exam, muscle testing, orthopedic tests, or nerve assessment * Pressed on a few tight spots I showed him in my shoulder and immediately decided on cupping + acupuncture without identifying the actual issue * 15 minutes of cupping, 20 minutes of acupuncture, and I left feeling exactly the same This felt less like individualized care and more like a "same treatment for everyone" approach. Eastern medicine can be incredibly effective when done properly, but this experience felt rushed, impersonal, and money-driven. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this level of care was unacceptable. I'm sorry to say this is an insult to eastern medicine. I've had eastern medicine and they never treated me without even identifying my problem.

I was so happy she values her customer's needs. When I mentioned I had a gift card, she made sure it was something she honored before she made any promises(which I really appreciated). As I entered the small waiting area, I noticed a change in the decor, it was simple & welcoming. What was also nice was the prompt & professional service of having me in the room at 11:30am & not waiting. My masseur was Jimmy, he had a gentle yet effective technique. I didn't realize how tight & tense my shoulders were until he worked on my joints & muscles. Jimmy also listened when my right shoulder was more sensitive, he took a quick break from working on that side but then tried a different technique to get that knot out. I couldn't be happier but realized I need more massages so I booked another appt. w/Jimmy. Thanks Amador Spa for realizing self care is so important & for helping me release the tension on my shoulders.
