I received a skein if yarn that had sections not connected. I know I didn't cut it because I break my ties. Also, ends were all through the skein not in any one location as if the skein was cut. Owner sent me a link to a video on how to splice yarn together. I will not buy more unless I see it. I ordered this skein direct from Spincycle. Very poor customer service in my opinion.

Do you love local crafted products? Handmade yarn? Hand-dyed yarn?... If you answered yes, check out Kate and Rachel's cool business!!! I first met them at the summer 2009 Urban Craft Uprising in Seattle. I've been looking for a long time for the right unique yarn for a new scarf my friend Trish was going to make me. I even looked on my trip to Alaska, but still did not find what I was looking for. Kate and Rachel stopped me with their amazing cool and funky colors. There are so many types of yarn even some made from goat! I love that they are a local company that uses local goats and sheep and they do all the work --- dying, spinning into yarn. The costs is higher than your local yarn bought at major shopes, BUT its worth it! The quality is amazing and I think its cool to know its "grown" right here in the NW!

The store is not located where it says in the listing - please change so that others are not led astray and disappointed as I was yesterday.

I love this store and visit it almost weekly. it's my feel good place to visit…read more The atmosphere is wonderful BUT I have one problem and that's the management. When you are a manager you should know when your busy times are and you should staff accordingly so that your checkout lines move quickly and smoothly. You should have at least 2 managers or shift leaders up front to help with any issues at the registers when you have at least 6 open. You also need to have enough cashiers to move the lines along. when you have only 2 registers open and you have 3-4 people in each line you need to call for another cashier. Your cashiers should be polite and say hello or how's your day going but they should not start an actual conversation that slows down the lines. I have seen many frustrated customers waiting in long lines, I am not the only one. It is important to keep those lines moving quickly so you keep your customers happy. I understand that without scan bars on the products that it is not as quick as a store with them but I believe that the cashiers should be taught to input a bit faster and cutting the conversations down while doing this would help so they can concentrate on the items being imputed. They can be polite (which they all are) but if they would just cut those conversations down it would really help. So to sum it all up I believe either the manager needs retraining or he/she needs to have regular meetings to instruct the cashiers how to help the lines move faster. Staffing during busy times is also very essential, enough at the registers and enough on the floor.

Definitely recommend Hobby Lobby during the holiday season! Mid December and most Christmas stuff…read moreis already 50% off and so many giftable items and also stuff to make gifts with! Love this place. Prices are very reasonable and the selection is terrific! We grabbed a lot of stocking stuffers here! The lines were kinda long but they did add cashiers around the time we checked out so not bad at all!

We were given school photos from family and had a suitable frame, but it was not the right size for…read morethe photos (too large) so we came here in search of matting for the frame. We found precut mat in various sizes that brought the space between the frame and the photos close, but still not quite right. We then came across scrap book paper! Very reasonable and so many options! It worked out great and finally we can proudly display and enjoy the school photos instead of putting them on the fridge with magnets lol! If you have time to wander, this is a fantastic place for Getting ideas for so many organization/decorating/house projects! The staff was friendly and helpful. I should also mention, they do offer custom mats here but for this project, it was not worth the money (these are tiny photos and we will probably re frame new ones next year). They also can custom frame and mat your photos/artwork of Any size!

With that said for whatever reason I have had my due date set as the 13th and just found out that it's actually the 11th . Not sure if that's on me or that it was what it said on my first bill . Either way I talked to 4 people going up the ladder and not one of them was willing to even reverse 2 late fees out of 12 plus months . I will never shop with this company again or any company that isn't willing to try and help to keep a customer . They give 2 shits and their customer service is horrible . Being in the customer service industry for about 40 years I have never encountered a business like this. Also no where does it say that Michael's AKA Comenity Bank that their app is called Bread Financial which in itself is stupid . I have always called or gone onto Comenity.com to make payments yet never knowing this whole time that my actual due date was 2 days earlier asking that anyone who does not shop there or has similar problems please share this . Thank you

Northwest is a staple of the local Bham community and beyond. The space is pure magic with so many…read morekinds of crafts available to you (sewing, spining, weaving, knitting, crochet, tie dyeing, and the list goes on!). Any time I've been you can see various projects in progress around the store. To say the staff is helpful would be an understatement. The staff are all quite unassuming, so you have to go up to them.... but when you do they are super helpful. Each staff person is incredibly knowledgeable and have each helped me with knitting projects and patterns. Thay being said, Heather (one of the owners) is the true star. I know so many people shes taught so much to. I go to the weekly stitch and bitch on Thursday evenings and a dude showed up and sat down with no real direction or plan other that "I want to learn how to knit." The group threw him the ball of learning yarn and some knitting needles. Heather taught him right then and there and used the most hilarious, memorable phrases ("stab your friend" is the one I remeber). He was happily knitting and inspired by the end of stitch and bitch. Their yarn selection is comparable to other stores I've been to, with more eclectic color choices than other places. The fabric is also quite eclectic. So, thats the brand. Eclectic and quirky. I am obsessed. I am moving back to California in July and am so bummed to be moving away from Northwest. There is no place like it! I will surely order yarn from there to keep supporting this local gem.

They've taken over the former (RIP) Black Drop Coffee space, which is now filled to the brim with beautiful yarn. And their original shop space is full of gorgeous, high quality fabrics. They have designers and prints I've never seen in other fabric stores, and they have a great selection of cotton fabrics as well as some knits and other options. Next time I'm making a quilt, I'll stop by and pick fabrics here as I know it will make any project just that much more unique and interesting. Speaking of fabric, last weekend I took an ice dyeing class here with their wonderful owner, Heather. I've never dyed fabric before, and was a little nervous about how it would all work. I also never knew you could dye with the help of buckets of ice! It was a blast and I can't wait to have time to add yet another fabric-related hobby to my arsenal of crafty talents. During this most recent visit, I also noticed they carry embroidery kits, basket-weaving supplies, and even a small assortment of interesting-sounding seeds. If you're the crafty type (or just dream of being one) definitely pop into Northwest Yarns - I'm sure you'll be just as inspired as I am!
