From Interlaken Ost it's a 35 minute train ride. Note that there are two main stations in Grindelwald: Grindelwald Terminal which is the way to get to Jungfraujoch, and Grindelwald (nothing else in the name) which is the village. Grindelwald Terminal is the second to last stop and Grindelwald is the last stop, but some trains only stop at the former. Some popular attractions other than exploring the village are Pfingstegg, a toboggan ride that you can take for a unique view of the village. Another one is visiting First, advertised as the "top of adventure" and where you can go zip lining, mountain carting, and hiking among other things. Of all the places I visited in the region, Grindelwald was my favorite place to see because of the vast greenery and landscapes. It's just exactly what I imagined Switzerland to be before I visited and it lived up to that expectation.

God knows what will happen to you if you litter. Some of the local stops are only announced in Swiss German. Keep a lookout for your destination.

Track, time, rail line etc. I found the station very clean and very friendly with a police presence that was willing to help if you had questions. The tourist information booth was in plain sight and provided lots of pamphlets, maps and recommendations for just about anything you need. I was amazed at how many trains were going to so many places around Europe. Again my first experience in a train station so I was a little bit in aww. lol With a nice selection of food court and retail shops you could use to kill some time if you were early for your connection. And a short walk to many traditional Swiss restaurants right on the Reuss river where it meets Lake Luzern. But be warned. Trains arrive and depart on time! So don't get distracted with the shops. Lol All in all a very quick but nice experience. I would definitely be ok with traveling by train again.

Because the area sees a lot of visitors, this station has a lot of traffic and people. The station has kiosks for tickets and monitors for train schedules which make it easy to navigate. In addition, workers are present to guide you to the right station for where you want to go. There are grocery stores and convenience stores located nearby which make for a good stop before going on a long train ride. When I stayed in the area I visited this train station multiple times per day to explore the region, so I recommend staying in the area to take advantage of its convenience.

We had dropped off our luggage here on our way to jungfrau from montreux. Very cheap. 3 chf per bag. They are open at 6 am to 7:30pm everyday. And the representatives in the travel office provide all the information u need. They were very helpful and friendly. On top of everything the other reason to get off at this station is to explore the beautiful village town.

We took the train from Lucerne to Zurich. Then took a roundtrip day trip from Zurich to Rheinfall on Switzerland National Day. Loved watching the beautiful countryside as we traveled so comfortably from the city to the national park with the largest waterfall in Europe. Make sure to buy the correct ticket for your journey. They are on a bit of an honor system. We only had a few train conductors actually check out tickets, but if you are caught without a ticket the fines are very high. Like €80 and more. Not worth taking that risk. Be honest and buy a ticket. The train station is also always open. On Switzerland National Day, the city shuts down. On Sundays, the city shuts down. The train station, however, stays open. So if you need a drink, pastries, or a snack, even groceries, the train station has so much available. A great train station in Zurich.

There's a board where you can see the schedule and what platform each train is leaving from. There are restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and chocolate shops at the station. I can't speak on restrooms since I didn't use them but every restroom I've used in Switzerland has been clean. Outside the Hauptbanhof, there are buses, taxis, and trams to connect you if you're staying somewhere away from this station. But there are hotels within walking distance from here. I've taken trains to/ from Zürich Hauptbanhof in the afternoon, early morning and at night and I felt safe regardless of the time of day.
