We went for the 75 minute tour of the Port for €11.75. I personally feel this was a great tour and if you are interested in transport, logistics, big ships or if you've relocated once or twice like me I think it's worth a look at how your stuff has been moved around the world! Logistics is one of the things the Netherlands is World Class in. This was the World's biggest logistics hub before China's took over and is still the biggest in Europe. On this tour you get to see the Rotterdam Skyline with skyscrapers and some of the architecture this city is so famous for. The Shipyard and container ships. We also saw the huge fruit and vegetable storage area that supplies the whole of Europe. There is a section of the port that has boat repairs and we saw these guys welding the bottom of a humongous ship which I found fascinating. There was an oil rigger with helicopter too being cleaned. You see some of the super cranes in action too - great for little and big kids alike. We also saw the Steamship SS Rotterdam - the former flag ship of the Holland America line which took immigrants to their new lives in America. I have write a separate review of Hotel America.
I would recommend this boat tour. It was a nice boat too. read more
