Very dishonest owner and mostly fake reviews. Beware! I had the windshield of my Toyota Rav4 replaced September 2019 last year and due to covid-19 we didn't drive the car since March of 2020. We realized a couple of months ago that the lane departure mount attached to the windshield had come off. So I went in today to get that checked out. The owner was there and he checked his tablet and said that he doesn't see a Rav4 in his system that we got fixed. He sees a Civic hybrid in system that we got fixed in September. Now we NEVER owned a Civic hybrid in our life, so it has to be his fault that he put that on his own syatem that I don't have access to. Then he comes out, looks at the Rav4 and tells me that they don't even use this brand of windshield. This is the height of dishonesty!!! So I just walked away. I initially wanted to come here for my windshield replacement due to the great reviews and having been highly recommended by a friend. The day before my appointment, I confirmed if the parts are all in and they said yes. The next day, after dropping my car off for 1.5h, they told me that there were missing parts, and agreed to make up for it by doing mobile service, which is fine. They'd also call to reschedule when the parts arrived. No calls received and when I called them back to reschedule, I was told that there'd be an extra charge for mobile service. Also, prior to dropping my car off for repair, I covered the seats with cloth to protect them as the seats are premium leather and a unique color. However, when I went to pick my car up, I noticed the cloths being removed. There were also fingerprints with debris on car paint, which to a car enthusiast, is very disturbing. read more

Anyone who has known me since I got my car knows I have been avidly trying to find a detailer. I tried over four different detailers in the Bay Area and have paid over hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I have personally over $1000+ worth of detailing equipment, polishes, waxes, cleaners ... you name it! I pretty much got screwed every time. Either the detail was really expensive and lasted for a few days, or after the first wash it was basically gone. Also, washing my car was a pain in the butt. It would take me over 45 minutes just for a "quick" wash and even then I couldn't help but leave water spots at times because the car's dark and I live in California (a.k.a. sun). I have never really achieved these kind of results. I didn't know anything about this "technology" until Spider Auto Glass exposed me to it. After this coating, I didn't wash my car for 3 weeks. I went to the track for the entire weekend. I drove it to work every day. It rained several times during that week and my work seriously has pollen storms 3x a day. Afterwards, my car looked awful, disgusting, and had spots everywhere including tree sap, tree crap, bird crap, pollen crap, and general disgustingness. I honestly didn't believe. I mean ... Raymond was able to take me in the day of as a walk-in to help fill in a rock chip on my windshield from 880 on my BMW. The chip was directly in my line of sight and was quite large, so I wanted to get it filled and repaired as quickly as possible to prevent it from spreading. The shop is pretty unassuming and a bit hard to spot, but once parked he was able to take the car in, make the repairs, and have me out within the hour! The price was very reasonable, especially considering the alternative to replacing an entire windshield! Amazing turn around for a Chipped glass! I phoned in to inquire about getting a chip on my windshield replaced, speaking with the person over the phone was painless, she asked about the chip and the size (we used coins for size reference). I was able to get slotted in right away and was given a estimate time of how long the work will take. Once I arrived I pulled up by the shop entrance (signs will direct you where to stop and simple to read instructions). Once I got inside I was greeted by a worker from behind the counter, we filled out some information on a tablet and my car was pulled into the back. FREE WIFI! This was a great bonus since I was able to do some work while I waited for the car. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the lobby along with some wildlife animals, thankfully no live spiders to be found! (not a fan of spiders). They finished it up in no time and my car was pulled back out to the front. One of the technicians came in to have me do a inspection of the work, everything looked great and the patch job turned out way better than what I was expecting. Spider Auto Glass accepts card payments along with Apple Pay. They had a promotion for a yelp discount when you check in via Yelp! In conclusion, I'm very happy with the service they provided and will definitely come back if I ever need work done again! Small Note, though the chip/crack is no longer noticeable from the outside (photos provided), you can still see some of the cracking from the inside of the car. My sunroof on my Mini Cooper wouldn't close and I knew that taking it to the dealership would've meant an astronomical repair bill. I called these guys this afternoon and asked if they could look at it for me. They told me they could look at it right then so I brought it in right away. They were able to get it closed and walked me through a couple options to have it repaired. Unfortunately parts for a Minis aren't cheap and it would still be a costly repair, but the thing I appreciated the most was how they troubleshooted the issue to fix it at a later date. They informed me that they were going to research the issue and get back to me with options. Most other places I called said they couldn't close it without fixing it. Rarely have ever needed a windshield replaced, but this time actually called for it. A careless mistake of changing a wiper blade sent me to this amazing shop. I came here as a reference from a dealership since the dealership advised it was cheaper to go with an aftermarket versus an OEM (virtually the same thing minus the OEM logo). I have heard many bad things from a company called Safelite, so I was really searching for options. With the dealership advice and also with the help of my friends, Spider, was the best decision I've made. The receptionist took amazing care of my call to book a reservation and was very knowledgeable on what to advise on and helped determined what crack I had and what would be covered under their warranty policy. She was able to price me on the phone and I couldn't beat the price they gave. They also give 10$ off if you check in. Upon arriving location, their showroom was nice and open with free wi-fi to do work. They are currently making changes to their showroom to be better for customers. The owner prides his love for animals and so when you go in, you will see a nice fish tank and birds. The work done took about 2 hours, given I have a big 4Runner, but was also surprised that The workers came and greeted me, had me help assess where the damage was, and how they were going to fix the windshield. At the end of the install, I managed to have a chat with the owner of the shop, and by far 5/5 star to him. I found that we had lots of local friends in common as well as similar interests in hobbies. The fact that he walked me out to my car, looked over the work, and advised on other services provided bu the shop, it made me trust the owner (Raymond) and I will surely be back to have some other work completed! My truck windshield had a huge rock chip and took it to spider auto in 2019. James suggest to replace the windshield. Reason being I didn't write review at that time is they made two deep scratches on my front hood. Not happy. Fast forward, after three years, I noticed wet area on the passenger carpet on last rain fall so i wonder where it came from and forget about it. This recent car wash I noticed again the wet carpet and confirmed it is due to leak somewhere on the windshield seal. So I called spider auto and talk to Raymond and he said maybe it's my sun roof that is leaking. I ask if I can bring the truck the following day and said yes. After hanging up the phone I did my own investigation to whether it's my sun roof or the windshield seals that is leaking. So I took my water hose and set to lowest flow setting so I could pour water around the windshield seal and not the sun roof and confirmed it's the passenger windshield seal area that is leaking water. I ask my wife to take a video on the inside while I pour water on the outside. Armed with my evidence video on the day to see Raymond around 9:00am to find out the shop is closed and noticed the place is to me it looks like rundown not like before. Called Raymond and it's answering machine keeps answering the phone while I was there. Left the place and when I got home I texted Raymond and until now no response. Went in on Friday 12/30/16 to get a rock chip on my windshield repaired. Went in and the guy had told me the chip was bigger than a quarter size and might not turn out as I'd like it to. And apparently had 2 other chips as well. At first when he told me it wasn't going to turn out how I want, I was a bit hesitant and unsure but I said just do the best they can do. An hour later he told me it was ready and to take a look. I go outside to take a look, I was blown and extremely happy with the results. You can hardly tell it got chipped and it was pretty deep. Once again the winter roads of the Bay Area do their best to fall apart and provide rocks to the tires of passing vehicles to throw at windshields. While driving from San Jose to Stockton I had 2 really large stones impact the windshield and one resulted in a cone shape chip and spider cracks, the other just left me shaken (saw it coming and ducked on instinct!) A quick call to Spider and I was able to schedule a time the same day to bring in the Jeep and get the chip fixed before the crack grew. After missing my 1st appt and calling for and setting up another one (all my fault!), 30 mins after arriving, then talking about motorcycle racing and S2000s, my Jeep was turned back over to me and the chip was only barely visible... crisis avoided! Especially when you're me because I was just rear ended by an uninsured elderly woman on the 280 two months ago. Driving on the 880 and a giant rock abruptly smacks into my front windshield at 80mph. The noise was so loud and scary I seriously thought someone was trying to snipe me. (Jk I just played too much halo pc as a little girl) The crack was probably 2ft in length and I knew that windshield was done. I simply needed a new windshield because if she don't wanna be saved, don't save her (J. Cole reference) *calls* receives reasonable quote and they were able to get me booked for the next day! Short Story: Fantastic place to take your car for a windshield repair. The customer service is superb and there is a follow-up a few days later. Long Story: So, my review is a bit unique. I first contacted Raymond, the owner of Spider Auto Glass in late August 2013 to have my windshield replaced. At the time I was working in San Jose. I made an appointment and he was here the next day. He replaced my windshield on the spot and it took about 45 minutes to an hour. The cost was excellent and I had shopped around before calling him. Spider Auto Glass was the lowest on the market. After a few days, I noticed that there was some wind noise and that part of molding near the windshield was loose. I called Raymond up and he was able to come out and fix the issue. Then about two months later, the same issue occurred again and so I called him up and he was able to come out the next day and fix it. This time, he came and met me out in the East Bay. I write this in the review not to point out a negative, but a positive. In both cases, Raymond came out promptly and was able to fix the issue. He was very professional and took the time and care to see what was going on. While you could argue that the first time it occurred that would have been appropriate to come out and fix it since it was only a few days after the new windshield was installed. However, the second time, about 2 months had passed. At that point, I didn't think he would come out since so much time had passed. Yet in both instances he did and fixed the issue. In addition, I received a phone call about a week after the second repair to see how everything was going. I really appreciate the follow-up. In my experience, you don't see this quality of customer service anymore. Verdict: I would recommend Raymond and Spider Auto Glass to anyone I know. The prices are fantastic and the service is 5-star. You not only get what you pay for, you get a lot more than what you pay for! read more
