I would give this place a five star rating only if it focused on making fish and chips and had not…read moreventured out toward pizzas and kebabs, etc. Additionally, when standing in line at the chippy, folks in front of you ordering kebabs, get a tad fussy and want variations on their food, which takes INFINITELY TO GET FUCKING SERVED!!!!
I moved from Wolverhampton to the USA and now reside in San Francisco, California and needless to say, over the last 10 years, I have yet to come across a chip shop that comes close to Miami Fish Bar or Sam's chippy on Upper Villier Street from the 1980's.
Order the large fish and small bag of chips, with a steak and kidney pie (piping hot), add some vinegar and grab fork and a can of coke.
Then off to eat in a scenic setting... my scenic setting is to head toward the Penn Road, and once at the roundabout just before Penn Cottage, take the second exit toward I think Showell Lane, narrow steep lane that takes you into the Staffordshire countryside, then down the other end toward the Bridgnorth Road. I typically park the car on a makeshift lay by and during the summer months, take in the view from the back of Highfields School, (my secondary school), and enjoy a piping hot fish and chips with a steak and kidney pie, washed down with a can of full fat coca cola!!! Ahhh, heaven, I cannot wait to head back and enjoy the food. I am salivating right now!!!!
Enjoy, ex-pat in the United States.
