My family took me here for a birthday feast, so I didn't really know what to expect as I live in Birmingham. Also, coming from Birmingham, I wasn't expecting anything as good as I've become used to with regards to the fine Asian restaurants where I live.
How wrong I was!
It's a reasonable size restaurant, with very friendly and helpful staff, and very clean and modern decor.
The food though, oh the food! Birmingham actually doesn't have many restaurants of this quality.
We only had popadoms to start, as I'd been warned that the main courses were quite large, and these were as you'd expect anywhere, however I decided to try the mixed tandoori grill with a keema naan and pilau rice for my main.
Everything about the meat was great. It was well spiced, perfectly cooked, and very succulent. The rice was light and fluffy, and the naan was perfectly puffy too.
Unless I pay through the nose for one of Birmingham's finer Indian restaurants in future, I think I'll be disappointed with most currys until I visit this place again. read more
