Okay, it's nowhere close to what real pho is, but they're not bad! It's like Ramen noodle bowls but pho. I added some thinly sliced beef, white and green onions and a bit of oil and it was actually really good. If you're looking for a snack in a pinch, this could be it. And it's $1.50! As for what else they carry: Asian style cuts of beef, chicken and pork are available along with some western items and fresh veggies and fruit, plus the always important HiChew! It's wax and sugar but delicious. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Check it out!

Trupti seems to be that secret place that isn't reviewed much but has a stream of South Indian shoppers who make the pilgrimage to this place for their spices. Trupti has a factory in the back where fresh spices are roasted and packaged before they are either brought to the front and sold in store or sent off under private label. I was told by staff that restaurants make their own blends here just for themselves. The place is a family run business with their own blends as well. As you can see from all my photos, I picked up A LOT! I waited till I opened some of these before posting a review. What I noticed right away is that the spices smell really fresh. I compared it to some McCormack spices I just got from metro and Trupti wins by a long shot. The roasted spices smell amazing. There isn't much more to say other that for the quantity, the prices are great and the quality is impressive. Go here for spices. The end!

Since they supply many restaurants and pretty well a majority of the Indian markets. They also have a great selection of nuts and all kinds of flour. Very friendly staff, helpful, just good people. The staff is friendly, on many occassions they will offer to find you what you're looking for and even help you bag your groceries (for those of us who bring bags from home). The cashier is quick, so have you wallet ready, she never lets the line get too long or slow. Six Points Plaza has plenty of parking as well as being a 5 mi walk from Kipling Subway Station! I only subtract one star for cleanliness as the bottom of the produce stalls, and the shop floor aren't always the cleanest. This is a little farmers market produce shop so you get what you see - fresh produce at low prices.

Tip: This store has many varieties of kimchi and ready-to-eat prepared meals…read more A recent Yelp event introduced me to Galleria Supermarket. After the event was over, I did some browsing around the supermarket before I left. It was my first time at any Galleria Supermarket. Think T&T Supermarket, but with Korean goods. I dig supermarkets and this one was cool. It's funny that I pass by the Galleria on Steeles Avenue West, just west of Yonge Street, every week after work. I've never gone in there, mainly because I'd have to do a left turn from Steeles Avenue West. When leaving this place, I'd need to do a left turn without a set of traffic lights. Otherwise, I'd have to do the around-the-block set of right turns. It's just seems so inconvenient. If I were heading westbound, I'd have better luck. I do like this Galleria. There was a lot of parking. I am also familiar with the area, with California Sandwiches around the corner. I saw massive tubs of kimchi. When you see so many varieties of kimchi and the vessels to have it ferment if you make your own, you know that you're in a good supermarket with everything that you need. I liked seeing travel utensil kits with chopsticks, spoons, and more. I got stuck in the housewares section, looking at plates, bowls, kettles, frying pans, rice cookers, and more. I love small appliances. It was so tough tearing myself out of this part of the store. I had a can of Sac Sac from the event. It had peeled grapes in it. It was so good that I know I'll return to this supermarket just for this product alone. So good! I frankly would like to live in this supermarket. It has heat-and-eat items. There's also a food court that I need to explore. It's a huge store! I loved everything that I saw. I'll be back to buy and be broke afterwards. (447)

The su mai looks pretty standard to what I find at most grocery hot tables these days. The taste is just all right. :/ The har gow is nice. The chicken dumplings are a nice change from the ordinary options at Chinese lunch/dim sum places.

Jian Hing Supermarket is not merely a grocery store; it is a portal. Tucked into the fabric of…read moreNorth York, this sprawling Asian supermarket offers something that no amount of curated urban planning can manufacture: an authentic, exuberant abundance. The aisles are dense with possibility. Ripe Vietnamese mangoes perfume the produce section with a fragrance that is unmistakably of somewhere else, somewhere warmer, somewhere real. The selection is staggering, encompassing a breadth of Southeast and East Asian pantry staples, fresh vegetables, and specialty items that would make any serious home cook feel, at last, understood. And yet, the experience carries a weight beyond the culinary. Walking these aisles, one is reminded with quiet force that we are, geographically, in Canada. A country whose prosperity is inseparable from the very communities that animate places like this. The produce, the fish counters, the hand-scrawled price tags represent not just commerce but continuity. A diaspora feeding itself with dignity. One feels, genuinely, happy here. That happiness, however, is complicated. Canada presents itself to the world as a nation of warmth and tolerance, a reputation polished to a high shine on the international stage. But within the walls of a place like this, one becomes acutely aware of how selectively that warmth is distributed. The Asian communities that sustain Jian Hing, that built North York into what it is, do so while navigating a social climate where the so-called Canadian niceness has, in recent years, shown troubling cracks. The stereotype holds, until it does not. Five stars for the mangoes, the selection, and the joy of the aisles. A more complicated score for the country surrounding it.
