I first had John with Sphinx out in 2022, when he was able to fit in a repair for my Chevy window regulator on short notice. He is super professional, offers mobile service, and had a fair price. I was able to talk with him on the phone, and we had some follow ups by text -- he made the whole process of getting my car window repaired very easy. I would highly recommend his work. Fast-forward to 2024. He came out to look at my wife's Audi, which had a small leak which we noticed when we would get a car wash. He walked me through the options, and we eventually decided do hold off on doing any major work. A repair service who advises you when you *don't* need to do something right away is really the most trustworthy kind of advisor. I needed my windshield replaced on a business car that needed to be rented out the next day and John at Sphinx Auto Glass was the only one willing to replace my windshield on a weekend with only a couple hours notice. When he arrived he was very friendly and courteous to make sure to keep my Jeep clean while he removed and installed the new windshield. Also he was at least $100 cheaper than anyone else I called, pretty impressive as he came to us and did it same day on a weekend. I recently had a glass broken, welcome to Portland, and my insurance referred me to safelight and their provider. I attempted to reach a human on the phone to request genuine glass for my Lexus and it was impossible to reach a human. I then called my insurance and reached MT Hood glass who promised I'd have my glass repaired in 2 business days. 2 days later I follow up to check the status of my glass and I am told my glass was not ordered because I didn't pay my deductible. I decided they weren't worthy of my business and I found Sphinx Auto Glass. I want to start out saying that I hate having work done on my car. Almost every time I do, there's an issue and I have to take my car back multiple times and in the end it's still only subpar. I searched google and found Sphinx Auto Glass. I noticed they have 5 stars and 79 reviews which is amazing. I called my insurance company and they weren't one of their preferred shops. I scheduled with one of their preferred shops and they were booked out pretty far. I checked their reviews and quickly cancelled. I called Sphinx again on a Wednesday and got the ball rolling. He texted me the next day and told me the windshield would be there by Friday. He's also mobile, which is a huge help since I work during the week. He came to my work Friday, showed me the glass he was going to put on, and started the work. He was done in less than an hour. The glass looked like it came from the factory. When I had my windshield replaced before by another shop, it was a disaster. They came back 2 more times to fix it, then ignored me when I brought to their attention the broken trim. John was incredibly professional and kind. Just from talking with him I can tell he's an honest business man with morals and stands by his work. I will only go to him if I ever need auto glass again (hopefully I don't have to). Also, my rain sensor was never sensitive enough from the factory. I'm not sure what he did, but it's perfect now and I can actually adjust the sensitivity to my liking. Without going into too much detail, he fought with the insurance company to get what I wanted and I'm incredibly grateful to him for that. He came out to my work place and fixed my window in the parking lot. He even taught me about a feature of cars I hadn't know before. John was AMAZING! I'll start with saying I live in Vancouver and John was very nice to drive all they way out here! My windshield was cracked by a rock while I was driving and I had no idea where to get it fixed. Insurance was charging me too much for the deductible and then I found John. I reached out to John and he quoted me (labor and parts) something that was WAY cheaper than my deductible from insurance! He's also very quick to respond (I reached out to him at ungodly hours and he was still super quick to respond). I asked him what's the next day he had available and he said the next business day which I was super grateful for! He came right on time and gave me a heads up when he was 30 minutes out. He's very good and very quick with his job! I felt like he was in and out in 15-20 minutes and the quality of his work is amazing! He's super informative, polite, and experienced in his work!
