Another company had also inspected our crawlspace and found no repairs needed at that time but quoted $16K to remediate and install barrier. We contracted 5 Star to remediate the mold, remove old barrier and install new 10 mil vapor barrier and treat joists and subfloor with Tim-bor Professional for $3500. As of this week, just 5 years from the 2020 treatment, an inspection of our crawl space has found fungus actively growing and severe damage to 9 joists, as well as the central support beam. I was told today that their work is only warranted for one year. Our crawlspace repair and 2nd remediation with a new vapor barrier was quoted today for $13K. Buyers be aware that this treatment is probably only good for a couple of years. Cheaper is not always better.
