We have purchased MANY trees over the years from Browns and other local nurseries, but our latest…read moreexperience at Browns has not been good. A tree we purchased 10 months ago has not been doing well. It has been properly planted and cared for-even "babied" along-and still not doing well. We are not at all new to tree planting or basic knowledge, so to have this kind of issue is very very rare for us. We have inquired back with Browns 3 times now as to what we can do to help this tree make it, and have gotten zero help or answers this far. We are getting the feeling that they are just waiting for our 1 year from purchase guarantee to pass by so that they can skip their commitment. We do not necessarily want the tree to be replaced, we want their input to know to make this tree thrive better and we are not getting it. Our next tree/shrubs may be coming from someplace else. Update from initial paragraphs above... absolutely zero "customer service" for the tree, and our time ran out. We had to cut it down. $300+ in the burn pile. I very rarely give a business this kind of review, but I honestly feel that this was warranted. We played by all of their retune/customer purchase rules and guidelines, and they did nothing.

Here is something incredible, my wife and I were at Menards and saw arborvitae trees tremendously reduced. We quickly purchased four of them. However, we did not have a way to get them home. I called Jim at home. They had just put in a long day and he was resting. I told him we were stuck at Menards with four trees, and no way to get them home. He said I'll be there shortly. I thanked him for doing this, and he said the customer comes first. Wow. I would highly recommend J&K Landscaping!

We wanted & paid for concrete steps but Doug initially installed steps made out of paver blocks put together with loctite glue. We never agreed to paver steps & asked for them to be removed since that was not in our written agreement. We never agreed to a change so we're unsure why they installed paver steps. In the end the owner Stephen made sure we got the concrete steps that we wanted. And Stephen & his crew were quick with putting up a good looking privacy fence for us. I would not trust Doug with any of my future projects. So if he is still with this company I would go somewhere else!

I wish I had chosen C&W sooner…read more Back in September of 2023, we had the 60 year-old maple trees around our house trimmed by another company. Less than a year later, a big part of one of the "trimmed" trees broke off at the base & crashed on our home's roof, causing major damage. Oh well... C&W came out a few days after I contacted them (once all the home roof repairs were done). Their very fair estimate included removal of the "killer" tree (the one that broke & smashed our house), another ill/dying maple tree, and trimming of the remaining big maple trees surrounding our home. They gave me an estimate of when they'd be able to do the work, and met that time estimate. The crew showed up on time, did an EXCELLENT job of removing the dead/dying trees, and properly trimmed the remaining trees (not just "topping" them). They also took care to not crush my septic leach field in the process. C&W's crew went above & beyond, and did more than was promised. I'd certainly hire them again.
