I just wanted to share the great experience we had with Dr. Nelson and his sweet assistants…read moreMarcela and Denyse. My 17 year old had her wisdom teeth removed and I was anxious about it. The way everyone cared for us like we were family will not be forgotten. Dr. Nelson was vigilant and caring, what more could you ask for in a surgeon?! The assistants were so professional and engaged, Stellar had a great time with them. His wife Allison was a Godsend to a mother. To see your child sedated can be emotional but her gentle nature and kind words put me at ease. Thank you to the entire staff at AOMS.

DR NELSON IS A GODSEND!!!!…read more Before hearing about, and being referred to Dr. Nelson, I had unfortunately experienced oral surgery from another surgeon who turned out to be negligent and was responsible for weeks of severe unnecessary pain. That doctor had extracted a tooth, put in a bone graph and placed a membrane due to a small perforation in my sinus cavity. With that other doctor, I was scheduled for one follow up visit but the intense pain I was experiencing necessitated 4 return visits within 2 weeks. I felt strongly that I had developed an infection from the procedure and requested an antibiotic. She refused, claiming there was no infection. She took no tests or CT scan to rule out an infection. Instead she was rude, dismissive and acted like I was making up the level of pain I was experiencing. After a month of her completely inappropriate behavior as my pain increased, I went to Dr. Nelson (referred by my dentist) to get a second opinion. Dr. Nelson saw me immediately and took a 3D scan which evidenced that my whole left sinus cavity was filled with infection. The smell of sulfur was overwhelming, the pain in my head and face was at a level 8-9 at all times. Dr. Nelson put me on an antibiotic and performed surgery 2 days later to check for contamination in the bone graft and clear the infection. Immediately following his procedure I was so pleased!! I had no more sulfur smell and the pain I had been dealing with for weeks had dissipated only leaving minor sensitivity from the new surgery. Reluctantly, I had to give Dr Nelson a call on a Saturday at 4pm because I was feeling a burning sensation in my mouth, which I believed was due to the strong antibiotic. He answered his phone right away, he was so kind and compassionate and he called me in a prescription to help with my burning mouth that had nothing to do with the surgery. He was so communicative that one pharmacy was closed and he took the time to call me and ask which other pharmacy I preferred. My mouth settled down immediately. On Monday, I called his office to see if I could move my followup appointment to be seen by him sooner than Wednesday. I spoke to his office staff and even though he wasn't in until Wednesday, his office staff were so pleasant and helpful. Literally a minute after hanging up with his office, Dr Nelson called me right back. He was with his family driving to Joshua tree and couldn't have been more kind, compassionate and I told him there was no problem and i would see him on Wednesday. In closing, I just finished both of my followups with Dr Nelson today. His staff is wonderful and caring. I'll be seeing him again in June to finish the work started by the other surgeon. I am hopeful that I dont need any more dental work done as far as implants, however if I do, Dr. Nelson will be the first and only doctor I would call. I couldn't recommend him more highly, a true professional and gentleman. Thank you so much Dr. Nelson! Penny

Special shout out to Rachel, who is perhaps the sweetest healthcare worker I have ever encountered. I was visibly nervous when I went back about being put under and Rachel talked me through and really put my nerves at ease. I am so grateful that she was there. If I may offer a word of advice, looking back I wish I had been told more about what to expect in terms of appearances at the extraction site. I was quite alarmed when I first looked at one of the holes and have been relying on the past experiences of family and friends to judge if I should be concerned. I have called the office a couple times too and they have been happy to answer my questions which I greatly appreciate! Thanks again to the fantastic staff :)

My visit lasted approximately five minutes, and I was told the issue was TMJ -- which was completely unrelated to the reason I was there. There was minimal examination and no meaningful discussion of the actual concern that prompted my referral. The following day, I sought a second opinion from another oral surgeon, who was surprised that my condition had not been properly evaluated or treated. The difference in thoroughness and concern between the two appointments was significant. I then attempted to resolve the billing issue directly with the office. For nearly two months, I repeatedly reached out to billing and was told the person in charge was on leave. After finally getting in contact with her, she was extremely rude and stated the charges were non-negotiable, insisting that Dr. Golding did everything "appropriately." When I explained my concerns and the circumstances, I was told I would be sent to collections -- which ultimately happened. I was sent to collections for over $750 for this brief consultation that did not adequately address the medical concern I was referred for. Being sent to collections under these circumstances is incredibly disappointing and stressful. Patients deserve to feel heard, thoroughly evaluated, and treated with professionalism -- both medically and administratively. I cannot recommend this office based on my experience.

WELL, THEY DID IT AGAIN!!…read more I previously wrote a review about my experience with Dr. Bebeau. This time, my wife needed surgery for a cracked tooth and abscess. Once again, Dr. Bebeau and his staff were compassionate, warm, thorough, and professional, proving that my prior experience at this incredible practice is merely their norm and not a lucky event. As I noted in my prior review, I am an eye doctor in Scottsdale and I know how hard it is to make this level of service look so effortless. They have truly mastered that skill. Great care, and also great people everywhere in this practice!

From the moment I walked into Dr. Bebeau's office, however, I felt genuinely cared for and supported. The office was spotless, which to me reflected the professionalism and attention to detail of the entire practice. I appreciated that Dr. Bebeau took a panoramic X-ray during our first consultation. He carefully reviewed it with me, projecting the image onto a large screen monitor and walking me through both the good and the bad. He answered all of my questions thoroughly, and I never felt rushed. The entire staff was kind, compassionate, and understanding. I made it clear that I was anxious, and they took plenty of time to explain every step of the process, including costs and estimated out-of-pocket expenses. I was treated like a person, not just another patient. I also cannot say enough good things about the anesthesiologist. He was outstanding. He explained everything clearly, answered my questions, and helped put me at ease. His calm demeanor gave me confidence that I was in good hands. Dr. Bebeau was equally impressive. The surgery went smoothly, and my recovery was much easier than I expected. His staff checked in with me regularly, and follow-up questions were welcomed anytime, whether by phone or text. What stood out most, was the level of care throughout the entire experience, everyone was professional, attentive, and genuinely cared that I was comfortable and informed. This is clearly a premium practice, and the quality of care reflects that at every step.

We moved to Scottsdale about six or seven years ago. My wife did a ton of research before picking a…read moredentist and she chose S&L with Dr. David Ngo. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I chose this dentist because of all the amazing reviews, and so I thought I'd detail my experience…read morebecause it wasn't as perfect as the reviews make it seem. They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.

Extremely skillful, gentle technique; excellent communication -so you know in simple understandable…read moreterms what to expect post and pre-op that will put your mind at ease. I've had 5 specialists consult me on fairly large infections in a couple teeth on my upper and lower jaw from trauma, including a consult at Az Perio. It was apparent that some places were highly motivated only monetarily, not even discussing my patient preferences, concerns or long term success. Many other places treated me as I was not capable of understanding my choices of care either. Understand that there are different routes you can take and different opinions. For example, one place wanted to just extract all of my infected teeth and place implants all on one day. However, If this method fails, it could end up going from 3-5 months healing time to over a year with worse infection or damage to the bone etc. I could read that to the other dental specialist, I was just a number crunched into his machine and not a person. Yes, some people hate dental procedures and find it very scary and one procedure is much more appealing than a couple or a few, but the risks are higher with that course of action which could result in much worse pain long term. Many places will also really pressure you to use anesthesia, that's fine as well for people petrified of a little oral pain, even possibly healthy pain because your body does secrete endorphins to alleviate it and I understand some people just have lower pain threshold, that is fine, my point is I was allowed a choice that was best for me. Dr. Schneider communicated perfectly what to expect if I did not go under anesthesia and he did not pressure me, he sufficiently communicated expectations and it was so easy and perfect. If you want to take the most prudent route, comfortable, and discerning care that is right for you long term, I highly recommend Dr. Brian Schneider. He is exceptional in skill and empathy. Because I have many issues with my teeth from an assault with a hockey stick when I was a child, I am at the dentist very often for routine cleanings and maintenance. I have to have at least one money tooth (front and center) extracted and despite that this should have been the worst dental procedure I've had, it was somehow the most pleasant. In absolute honesty, I've had so many more cleanings more painful than my extraction! I also really enjoyed my conversation with the Dr and assistant since I left my headphones at home on accident (just since l don't care for the grinding or popping noisy bits ;)
