This is such a great studio in a perfect little area. After class, you can easily do some grocery shopping, grab a bite to eat, or just hang out and browse nearby shops. This pilates studio is located in a lovely shopping center with a large parking lot and is easy to locate. The space itself is expansive with high ceilings and modern details. I was welcomed by friendly Angie. There are many cubbies to put your things while on the reformer. The workout itself could have been harder (in my opinion) and I did not achieve the sweat that was advertised on the neon sign illuminating the back wall. I was not a fan of having to change out the hand and foot straps- it disrupted the flow and had us all clanging around for 20 seconds. Overall, this was an okay studio for me but not my favorite. read more

Located in the shopping center past Fashion Island but before CDM's part of PCH, this studio had ample free parking. Upon entering, you're greeted by some very welcoming folks. Before your first session, you will have to make an account and fill out a waiver. It was a very clean studio with high ceilings, beautiful design, and a nice bathroom. The reformers are staggered, there are a lot of cubbies, and floor to ceiling mirrors on one side of the room. The most prominent thing about this class compared to other reformer pilates classes I've taken is how lively and energetic it was due to the louder than usual music. Music seems more central to the vibe of the class, rather than a background thought. The one thing I will say is that their Athletic Reformer class is not beginner friendly. While the instructor was very friendly and helpful throughout the session, the class intensity/difficulty/technicality itself was difficult. read more

I am so happy I found this studio! I've gone consistently for three weeks, and every class leaves my legs shaking--I love it. Coming from doing yoga/ Pilates for over 10 years, my body was getting bored, I didn't feel challenged, or saw a change. The instructors are incredible, the music's vibe and pace is spot-on: lively. I usually take Danielle and love her energy. She's always making sure I am doing things right. They nail targeted workouts--glutes, hips, abs, power reformer, you name it. The jump board class is my pen of my favorites, giving that rare Pilates cardio kick. I plan my week to hit every muscle, and by Friday, I feel sculpted. I live about 45 minutes away but had a meeting in the area and was able to drop into a class with Andrea. I watch her videos on YouTube and so I went in knowing what to expect. This is not a chill Pilates class but an uptempo athletic reformer workout. I loved it! First off, the girl at the desk was so nice and helpful, Andrea also introduced herself before hand. She asked if I had an injuries, checked in on me during class and even gave me thoughtful adjustments. Everything was clean and well organized and I LOVED the cervical pillows they provide for side lying work...game changer! I would be a regular if the studio was closer to me. read more

Visiting from Hawaii for a week signed up for 5 classes somehow was misguided into a reoccurring membership that sucked 165 dollars off my credit card for 2 months costing me quite a bit of money. I brought it to their attention to cancel and billing / membership staff could not have been any worse in regard to how they handled the situation. Very petty and to be honest not the type of customer service you'd expect in an upscale coastal community like Newport Beach / Corona Del Mar. As a result they not only lost my future business while visiting they also lost friends and family as i will not be referring friends. family and clients. Seems so short sided business wise. Rip off one client lose 4 qty plus clients. Luckily my credit card concierge has experience dealing with these types of merchants. read more

Coming out of cancer, my Dr.'s have been pushing me to start exercising over the past year. As a new comer to fitness I knew off the bat that I am DEFINITELY NOT a gym person and that I needed some sort of "class" type of fitness program. A friend of mine has been pushing me to give Pilates a try for about 6 months but as a male I was a bit intimidated to go and try Pilates due to all the women and wondered if I would even be welcomed. Enter Speir Pilates. It took me three weeks to get the courage to go in and inquire, but I decided to do it. Instead of going in, I decided to call Speir Pilates. When I called, I was greeted on the phone by a very enthusiastic person by the name of Taylor. I explained to her my situation and that I was a bit apprehensive due to fact that it was all women. Taylor was extremely supportive and encouraged me to come in and give it a try. In fact, she was so supportive that I decided to go in that day. When I went in that afternoon, Taylor had left for the day but, I met with Hailey and she was just as nice, encouraging and supportive as Taylor. I was starting to sense a vibe here and I liked what I was sensing. Because of these two women, I decided to signup. Since I never have exercised in my whole life, let alone have taken Pilates, I decided to take private one on one classes to "learn" the Reformer, the movements and get a feel for Pilates. Enter Ellie & Fallon. When I arrived for my first private session with Fallon, I was feeling a bit nervous but as I walked through the door, I was greeted at the desk by a woman with a beaming smile that made me feel welcomed and all apprehension I had was erased. That woman was Ellie. Ellie was, and is, very friendly, nice and supportive, again the same vibe is continuing, and she made me feel extremely comfortable outside my comfort zone. Once I checked in with Ellie, I met Fallon. Fallon has been my private instructor for the past three weeks and I could not have been assigned a more knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging, enthusiastic and understanding instructor than her, again the vibe. On the first day, Fallon started with the very basics of the Reformer and then slowly started working with me on the basics of Pilates. During the course of three weeks not only did I gain the confidence and skill to start taking a regular Pilates class, Fallon and I started talking about our personal lives and became friends. Something I was truly not expecting. After three weeks I had my first class and it was Glutes & Abs and guess what? Fallon was the instructor for that class so it made for a smooth transition. As I have stated above, I have never exercised in my life, let alone have taken Pilates so it goes without saying that I cannot compare Speir Pilates to any other boutique studio. But, because of how the above women treated a new comer and not only made me feel welcomed but also encouraged and supported me, I will never have to! Taylor, Hailey, Ellie and Fallon at Speir Pilates are AMAZING. I have not interacted with any of the other staff or instructors yet, but I am sure that the vibe will continue. Was in the area so I decided to pop in for a Saturday AM class with Danielle. I've done Pilates at a couple different studios but I always find myself getting bored and not connecting with the instructor or music. Speir is exactly what I needed to get back into studio Pilates! The instructor, Danielle, was so knowledgeable, energetic and funny and she had hands down the best Pilates playlist I've ever heard! The exercises were timed perfectly to the beat and the throwback songs were the perfect inspiration to get through some tough moves. Loved every second and will be back! read more

As a former Lagree instructor this studio has me converted because the workouts are challenging, targeted, and body changing.
