Very disappointed with how my recent situation with Speir was handled. I booked a Sunday Pilates class through ClassPass and was already on my way to the studio when Speir called to cancel the class last minute due to an instructor emergency. I completely understand that emergencies happen. However, I was specifically told over the phone that my ClassPass credits would be refunded AND that I would receive a complimentary class. I only received the complimentary class -- my ClassPass credits were never returned. What makes this frustrating is that when I was once 10 minutes late to a class, I was not allowed in and received no refund or credit. It was the first time I had ever been late, and I was dropping my kids off at school that morning. I understand the late-arrival policy and take responsibility for being late, but it feels like a very different standard is being applied when the studio cancels on customers. I'm not upset that an emergency caused a cancellation. I'm disappointed that Speir did not follow through on what I was promised. I hope they can resolve this and return the credits from my cancelled class. read more

Speir Pilates is the perfect studio for quintessential OC living. Ocean views on the way, cute studio, nestled in an adorable shopping center across from fashion island... I came for Sarah Groff, and I stayed for the little neck pillows. In all seriousness, Sarah is arguably the best pilates instructor in OC. she tailors her class to be accessible to every skill level, and adjusts (or adjusts me) as necessary. She's clear in giving instructions; and after almost a year with her, im seeing improvement in my abilities, but still feel challenged and sore the day after her class. Speir is aesthetic, clean, approachable.... and yes those neck pillows are lovely :) somehow these guys have managed to keep me excited about a Monday workout. read more

This is such a great studio in a perfect little area. After class, you can easily do some grocery shopping, grab a bite to eat, or just hang out and browse nearby shops. Andrea and Danielle are my favorite instructors that I've taken here. Their classes are challenging, thoughtfully programmed, and taught extremely well. I highly recommend Speir Pilates for anyone looking for a great Pilates studio in the Newport area. read more

I became a member after my first class at Speir! It's my favorite place!! The front desk staff are all super sweet and friendly. All the instructors have their own unique way of teaching, very attentive, challenging, and have great playlists, it's honestly impossible to pick a favorite instructor! The studio itself is bright, spotless, and beautifully maintained. If you're looking for a Pilates studio, Speir Pilates is it!! Highly recommend! read more

This pilates studio is located in a lovely shopping center with a large parking lot and is easy to locate. The space itself is expansive with high ceilings and modern details. I was welcomed by friendly Angie. There are many cubbies to put your things while on the reformer. The workout itself could have been harder (in my opinion) and I did not achieve the sweat that was advertised on the neon sign illuminating the back wall. I was not a fan of having to change out the hand and foot straps- it disrupted the flow and had us all clanging around for 20 seconds. Overall, this was an okay studio for me but not my favorite. read more

Speir is my favorite workout! Love the instructors so much, everyone that works there is so nice and I leave feeling so good. I see results from this class! read more

I am so happy I found this studio! I've gone consistently for three weeks, and every class leaves my legs shaking--I love it. Coming from doing yoga/ Pilates for over 10 years, my body was getting bored, I didn't feel challenged, or saw a change. The instructors are incredible, the music's vibe and pace is spot-on: lively. I usually take Danielle and love her energy. She's always making sure I am doing things right. They nail targeted workouts--glutes, hips, abs, power reformer, you name it. The jump board class is my pen of my favorites, giving that rare Pilates cardio kick. I plan my week to hit every muscle, and by Friday, I feel sculpted. I'm hooked and staying for the vibes and results. Highly recommend! read more

Located in the shopping center past Fashion Island but before CDM's part of PCH, this studio had ample free parking. Upon entering, you're greeted by some very welcoming folks. Before your first session, you will have to make an account and fill out a waiver. It was a very clean studio with high ceilings, beautiful design, and a nice bathroom. The reformers are staggered, there are a lot of cubbies, and floor to ceiling mirrors on one side of the room. The most prominent thing about this class compared to other reformer pilates classes I've taken is how lively and energetic it was due to the louder than usual music. Music seems more central to the vibe of the class, rather than a background thought. The one thing I will say is that their Athletic Reformer class is not beginner friendly. While the instructor was very friendly and helpful throughout the session, the class intensity/difficulty/technicality itself was difficult. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've tried other studios and this one stands out at the top for sure. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. It's so clean, their app is easy to use to book classes....etc. If you're looking for a Pilates studio, this is a must! read more

I live about 45 minutes away but had a meeting in the area and was able to drop into a class with Andrea. I watch her videos on YouTube and so I went in knowing what to expect. This is not a chill Pilates class but an uptempo athletic reformer workout. I loved it! First off, the girl at the desk was so nice and helpful, Andrea also introduced herself before hand. She asked if I had an injuries, checked in on me during class and even gave me thoughtful adjustments. Everything was clean and well organized and I LOVED the cervical pillows they provide for side lying work...game changer! I would be a regular if the studio was closer to me. read more

Loving that this studio opened in CDM. I can already feel more toned and stronger. Classes are amazing - challenging, low impact and love how the routines change up. The instructors are amazing - I've taken classes with Andrea, Benecia, Rashika, Kaylee and Fallon, and they've all been amazing. Highly recommend - you can start at any fitness level and adapt for injuries or as you progress. read more

I love this studio! It's clean, staff is incredible, and the classes are exactly what I need. 10/10 recommend

Coming out of cancer, my Dr.'s have been pushing me to start exercising over the past year. As a new comer to fitness I knew off the bat that I am DEFINITELY NOT a gym person and that I needed some sort of "class" type of fitness program. A friend of mine has been pushing me to give Pilates a try for about 6 months but as a male I was a bit intimidated to go and try Pilates due to all the women and wondered if I would even be welcomed. Enter Speir Pilates. It took me three weeks to get the courage to go in and inquire, but I decided to do it. Instead of going in, I decided to call Speir Pilates. When I called, I was greeted on the phone by a very enthusiastic person by the name of Taylor. I explained to her my situation and that I was a bit apprehensive due to fact that it was all women. Taylor was extremely supportive and encouraged me to come in and give it a try. In fact, she was so supportive that I decided to go in that day. When I went in that afternoon, Taylor had left for the day but, I met with Hailey and she was just as nice, encouraging and supportive as Taylor. I was starting to sense a vibe here and I liked what I was sensing. Because of these two women, I decided to signup. Since I never have exercised in my whole life, let alone have taken Pilates, I decided to take private one on one classes to "learn" the Reformer, the movements and get a feel for Pilates. Enter Ellie & Fallon. When I arrived for my first private session with Fallon, I was feeling a bit nervous but as I walked through the door, I was greeted at the desk by a woman with a beaming smile that made me feel welcomed and all apprehension I had was erased. That woman was Ellie. Ellie was, and is, very friendly, nice and supportive, again the same vibe is continuing, and she made me feel extremely comfortable outside my comfort zone. Once I checked in with Ellie, I met Fallon. Fallon has been my private instructor for the past three weeks and I could not have been assigned a more knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging, enthusiastic and understanding instructor than her, again the vibe. On the first day, Fallon started with the very basics of the Reformer and then slowly started working with me on the basics of Pilates. During the course of three weeks not only did I gain the confidence and skill to start taking a regular Pilates class, Fallon and I started talking about our personal lives and became friends. Something I was truly not expecting. After three weeks I had my first class and it was Glutes & Abs and guess what? Fallon was the instructor for that class so it made for a smooth transition. As I have stated above, I have never exercised in my life, let alone have taken Pilates so it goes without saying that I cannot compare Speir Pilates to any other boutique studio. But, because of how the above women treated a new comer and not only made me feel welcomed but also encouraged and supported me, I will never have to! Taylor, Hailey, Ellie and Fallon at Speir Pilates are AMAZING. I have not interacted with any of the other staff or instructors yet, but I am sure that the vibe will continue. If you're new to Pilates, looking for a new studio or a male who wants to try Pilates I cannot recommend Speir Pilates enough! Now that you have read this, GO TO SPEIR PILATES! read more

Danielle and all of the instructors here are top notch! Everyone is really friendly, helpful and inclusive. Love this studio!

Was in the area so I decided to pop in for a Saturday AM class with Danielle. I've done Pilates at a couple different studios but I always find myself getting bored and not connecting with the instructor or music. Speir is exactly what I needed to get back into studio Pilates! The instructor, Danielle, was so knowledgeable, energetic and funny and she had hands down the best Pilates playlist I've ever heard! The exercises were timed perfectly to the beat and the throwback songs were the perfect inspiration to get through some tough moves. Loved every second and will be back! read more

The best Pilates studio in Newport & CDM hands down! All instructors are fantastic. You can't go wrong when making a class reservation, which is GREAT! You can pop in to any class and get a great workout. The studio itself is super cute and well designed. Nice touch is that you can reserve a specific reformer, such a game changer. Last, but not least, all staff at the studio is always nice and welcoming. Every time I go there I never get disappointed and leave the studio feeling better, stronger. read more

I absolutely LOVE this studio! I have struggled to find a Pilates studio in the area that felt challenging and was more than a stretch routine and Speir is just that. I train several times a week with Sara and miss Andrea herself and feel so much stronger and leaner thanks to their routines. Super clean and great playlist read more

I was so excited when I heard they were opening, and after over a dozen classes I can honestly say this is my favorite Pilates studio in Newport! The instructors are amazing and the staff is so kind. Always the highlight of my week! The monthly membership is so worth it, treat yourself! read more

So happy to have Speir in my West Hollywood neighborhood. I love the modern aesthetic, a great array of instructors, and the ability to book on their app. They play music louder than some studios -- which I enjoy. However, they do offer earplugs if desired and allow clients to work at their own comfort level with all exercises--there are lots of classes to choose from as well. Their front desk team is also helpful and welcoming. read more

SO happy to have experienced such an incredible studio. From the moment you walk into the studio, you feel welcomed by the staff. The build out is absolutely gorgeous and the whole studio feels so clean and bright. My instructor, Danielle, was incredible. Her energy was infectious and her tweaks were so helpful to beginners and more advanced students alike. Her playlist kept me motivated the entire class. Can't wait to come back! read more

Big fan of Rashika at the Newport location. She's hands on throughout class helping with form to understand the mind body connection. Just know you'll get a spicy leg day in because I've always come out of class feeling the shakes, hence Rashake! read more

The whole experience at Speir is amazing - the merch, the vibe, the studio. But the best part was my instructor, Danielle. I'm pregnant with my second baby and was a little worried to do Pilates since I'm new to it, but Danielle was so attentive and constantly gave me moderations to keep me and my bump safe. AND her playlist is always a 10/10! read more

So happy that Speir came to Orange County! Hands down the best studio I've been to in OC. As a former Lagree instructor this studio has me converted because the workouts are challenging, targeted, and body changing. The staff is welcoming, studio is clean, spacious, and aesthetically pleasing. The energetic, well trained instructors are knowledgeable and actually understand the body and why movements are cued! Can't say enough good things, the people make the studio and the community is welcoming! All around the Pilates experience I have been looking for. Highly recommend! read more
