I feel that I have committed a great sin by never reviewing this place. The Speedy Mart in Hillside makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches PERIOD!!! I don't care how far I've gone, where I've moved to, nothing beats their sandwiches in general, but certainly not the breakfast ones. You almost have to tell them to cut back on the amount of meat they put on your sandwich (breakfast &/or lunch). Their omelettes are amazing, & no matter how you customize your order, they make it to perfection. They're next to a 7-Eleven, but if you know....you know. Don't go to that mega chain store next door, go to Speedy Mart. read more

It's amazing that these guys not only didn't have my order ready, when it wasn't ready they told me they were closed. They told me grubhub took the order but it will cancel, they're closed so no more food. Showed the guy the order with my pickup time, told me they were closed again. As I leave the place I see they're still open on grub hub for an entire hour after the time he tells me they're closed. I had to call grubhub to get a refund cause the order went thru and my card was charged. Been coming here 10+ years, last time read more

I always order through Uber and they always follow the instructions and get my sub right everytime. I just wished they used Boar's Head products, but overall my sandwiches are always fresh and made to order. And they have been consistent in service before and during covid-19. I always order Turkey, Genoa salami, American cheese, extra mayo, lettuce, tomato, salt,pepper and extra vinegar. read more

How the mighty have fallen. I used to eat lunch here every day when I worked in the area. Anytime I'm within 15 minutes I always make it a point to stop in and get my fix. After today I'm done with Speedy Mart. The first thing I noticed was an incredible abundance of employees running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The second thing I noticed was how dirty the sandwich area was. For so many employees the place should have been spotless. I remember when it used to be 1 guy making subs like a machine, getting the orders correct, and keeping his station spotless. I recently ordered my regular jerk chicken sandwich with peppers onions chipotle sauce and pepper jack cheese. When I got to work and opened my sandwich it was two hamburgers with french fries absolutely drowning in mustard, but with the correct receipt for what I ordered attached to the wrapper. Unfortunately I work over half hour away and this cannot be rectified so I'm beat. Update: While I was writing this review which I initially intended to be one star a manager drove all the way from Hillside to East Brunswick to drop me off a refund. In all honesty I would have preferred he bring me the sandwich, but the money will do. read more

Open 24/7!!! They have a huge selection of drinks and snacks, reasonably priced. Great place to go for a midnight snack or drink run! It's kind of like a 7/11. read more

I would eat every meal here if possible. Their sandwiches are delicious, nicely sized and affordable. Their fried chicken is YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Always courteous and polite! Call ahead and they will have your order ready. Great neighborhood convenience store. read more

When they supervisor is around, service seems to be a little better than other times. Although the checkout lines do move relatively quickly, they'll sometimes get backed up due to the lack of adequate staffing. Yet it's only a minor inconvenience for an otherwise welcome neighborhood amenity.

My mom has worked in the area for basically my entire life and whether I am visiting her for a late…read morelunch or she's bringing some food home, Oasis has been a staple. She (and now me) loves everything from the sandwiches to the pastries, the clean space and even the coffee. On our last visit here, we all got some version of their grilled chicken sandwich. It came on a roll with lettuce, tomato and mayo and was a perfect lunch. The menu is small but mighty, basically just 1 or 2 simple salads, the grilled chicken sandwich as well as tuna fish or chicken salad and maybe a couple other options. Small, but everything is great. And do not sleep on the pastries! We always get a couple of the pastel de natas but on the last trip tried a few other things as well. My favorite, besides the custard cups of course, was the almond danish - it was sweet but oh so good. They have a big space, so plenty of tables for any group size, and street parking outside is never too hard to find. Worth a visit!
