My routine is to have lunch at Taco John's and then browse a bit before getting back on the road. The store is packed with alllll kinds of stuff. They have a great grab-and-go snack bar, souvenirs, essential items, and truck/travel parts and accessories. It's always well-stocked and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. There are also showers for the truckers who spend countless hours on the road (and we thank you.) A recent modification removed Godfather's Pizza and Chester's Chicken with what's called Nef Nef. While I'm not familiar with it, the food looks great and I plan to try it the next time I'm there. There are a lot of gas pumps here. I mean A Lot. Both in front of and behind the building. Cars up front, huge-ass trucks in the rear! The place is usually VERY clean. On occasion the trash and floors in the restrooms could use some attention, but that's the nature of restrooms. One of the things I think the coolest is that they've added a dog park for walking/relieving your dog. It's a very thoughtful measure, installing something for the family pets who get stuck in a car for endless hours.

It's right off the expressway, so it's easy to access and if you missed it are you sure you were driving with your eyes open? Aside from what I'm going to call a "necessary stop", the store is usually pretty well stocked and organized. I'm always game for a snack and something to drink and they've always had just the right snack or beverage that I needed. The store is usually kept clean and tidy. On occasion I'll arrive when they've just got a delivery so it may be necessary to walk around a few boxes, but as long as they're stocking the shelves I honestly don't mind. The prices are very competitive for being expressway-adjacent. Usually you find that such convenient locations have convenient pricing, but I don't find their prices to be particularly outrageous. As far as the gas prices go, it's the same thing. They're not charging you extra because of location. During almost all of my visits the manager (Nicki?) is there and greets me with a pleasant "Hello!" and we chat a little bit as I check out. I always look forward to this stop because it's a no-pressure situation. On occasion I'll wonder where something is and she's quick to point me in the right direction. No high-tech, no flashing lights, not loud "BUY THIS" audio. Just a laid back stop on the road to Nashville.

It was Sunday June 7, 2026 around 9:00 am when we arrived. It was a mad house. We turned in on the lane that takes you directly to the gas pumps. We were driving for a while and just decided to park so we could go in and use the restroom and get something to eat. After using the spotless restroom and cleaning up, we went to get our food. As I said, the place was an absolute madhouse, but it was good madness. To see so many people packed in one place with smiles and looks of joy on their faces. Great time's. I know it's just a rest stop but it's so much more. This place just makes people happy. It was still breakfast time so they were still serving the incredible brisket tacos. I absolutely love just the brisket taco with their green salsa. It's amazing! My taco was packed with brisket and comes on the fresh made tortillas they make right there in the store. My wife loves the brisket and egg taco just plain the way it comes. They are equally as good and also loaded with brisket and a good amount of egg. After getting our food, we went and got a few of the new Buc-ee's America 250 merchandise. We just got a couple of t-shirts and a fridge magnet. There is anything you can imagine in the merchandise section. After checking out, we went to our car to eat our food. Sitting there eating we just watched a non stop line of cars pulling in. It was like it was timed perfectly. Every vehicle seemed like they were spaced out the perfect distance from one another. It was like it was choreographed. We sat there for about a half hour watching this. It was hilarious. When we finished eating, we went to fuel up before getting back on the road. This particular day the gas was $3.47 a gallon. When we got back to Cave City, the gas was $3.74. Even with all of those cars coming in, there was no waiting to get to a gas pump. Buc-ee's is a fun place to stop in and grab a snack, have some awesome brisket, pulled pork, or beef jerky. It's just a wonderful place.
