I've been passing this gas station throughout the past several years while doing Uber, and when I…read morewas severely close by (having dropped off a rider on Lincoln St a few minutes away) when I came upon it, I knew it was just that "right time and the right place." I had seen this location from a distance before, and although gas pricing here tends to be a little higher than most places (especially if you don't have a Price Plus card), I tried to stop in to try it out. However, it was the wrong decision. I knew I had my GasBuddy card to worry about and which is only accepted at pay-at-the-pump transactions. However, although it took my card, I was never asked before nor after the transaction if I wanted a receipt for the gas purchase. I ended up going in to retrieve the receipt - to which the employees were kind, and weren't busy (although the gas lines didn't show that) at all, the transaction went rather smooth. I only noticed a workable glitch in the hose location, and since this was the first time I had to fill up this newer car (to me), I couldn't quite figure out how far up I needed to go for the hose to reach and the remainder of the hose snagged on the pump hold bar - but was workable as I picked it up for it to reach. What I find most awkward is that although this ShopRite gas location is here, a few blocks down is the nearest ShopRite itself - generally where you find a ShopRite gas, you'll also find a ShopRite itself, and this was completely out of whack of everything I've learned about ShopRite before. (I actually visited that ShopRite in years past, and wrote the review of the location.) Keep in mind that this location is on the same street (Central Ave) as another ShopRite gas, although it is farther away from the other one as to not be interchangeable. It's easily confused - but it isn't the same. It's actually on the opposite side of the street many miles down closer to Albany than the Colonie one. I can't exactly say I'll be back to this location, because of the higher gas prices, but it's nice to know it exists if there's a sale on gas and this isn't crowded - not the case today, but it was my last hope for gas. I didn't really like that this station was rather crowded following the side of the pumps I needed for fitting my car's gas filling location easily. The station looked clean, including the inside of the convenience store, but I still have a wary feeling about this location.

This is an *inside* restroom. (2) confused line and cashier management. (3) microcarwash sort of apologized to the dirt on my car before gently rubbing it ever so slightly, apparently not wishing to offend or displace said dirt. There are a lot of pumps so pull-in access is OK, as long as you're headed Westbound on 2 right before the circle; otherwise difficult to get into. Update: I feel like a chump, realized when I checked my account and then looked at the receipt, they charge an extra 10 cents a gallon for using debit (and presumably credit) cards - not marked on the pump - AND on top of that an ATM card fee. I suspect sleaze. Strike that, I'm surrounded by it. Shaves that second star off and we're back to one. I'd rather run out of gas than go back.

Alltown already has a good rating on Yelp, but on the night we were driving along Erie Blvd. and looking for gas, Gasway had something Alltown did not - accessible pumps. I don't know what was going on over there, but every pump was blocked with an upside-down drum in front of it - perhaps there was some computer issue. Gasway is certainly a much more scaled-down gas station and convenience stop, but if all you're looking for is budget priced gas, you'll be okay here.

In fact, one stopped what he was doing to walk me over to the item which was featured at the entrance. Another worker checked in the stockroom for an item I wanted and brought it out to me with a smile. The produce section was well stocked and full of quality fruit and vegetables. The seafood counter was stocked with center cut pieces of Salmon. Checkout was efficient. The cashier packed delicate items with care. I needed help loading my car because I had many bulky and heavy (for me) beverages. A pleasant worker was available quickly to load my car.
