Drive across town. To Durango if necessary. Their incompetence pales in comparison only to their lack of customer service and rudeness.

*Darn good coffee and coffee based drinks * Cozy -rustic-…read moremountain - cowboy - chic vibe * Coffee shop also includes a store with items you want to gift yourself - or others- (cool leather bound journals), outdoor/ kitchen items to rustic home decor, candles etc Shopping and/or perusing the store adds to the fun in this space *Indoor and outdoor space ( outdoor space welcoming to puppers) *Baked goods there sell out quickly * You can also buy their coffee beans- and if you do, you also get a free coffee. * Located by the river walk *Parking is challenging because of location, construction downtown Pagosa Springs and also because Pagosa Springs is pedestrian heavy due to tourism and access to the river... do be patient.

This seems more like a branding opportunity than a coffee shop. It's really an OK place; I'd visit…read morehere again, but I'd also probably try a few other places in town first. The vibes are strong here. It nails its rustic atmosphere and has a nice patio to sit out on. It's close-ish to the river, but you're mostly looking at a parking lot. All the other wares very much match the country-chic I think this is going for. I got very much the feeling of "we want to be a Magnolia of Colorado" from this place. Many of the items on sale referenced Root itself, trying to make fetch happen. As for what we got, we got some coffee, smoothies, and sweet tea. I also had one of their energy balls. Pricing was a bit on the high end, even for Pagosa. What was most absurd to me was how much my sweet tea was. Yes, it was good. But for that price, I was expecting a much larger cup. I was left thirsty. It's literally the cheapest thing you could make and not some secret recipe requiring expertise; for that price point I expected more to slurp on. The energy ball was tasty. The coffee, I'm told, was OK. The smoothies matched their price point and tasted fresh.

Food was one of my top 5 breakfast places in America…read more Service made me feel like i was at a friend's house, back home in Louisiana. Ambience and decor was awesome. I even took a coffee mug home!!!

This post isn't to completely bash this place rather just to share my opinion…read more Staff is super attentive and our drinks were never empty. The food however was terrible. Four of us with a meal each, two cups of coffee, and two lemonades was $82, which is far too pricey for the quality of the food. I ordered the huevos rancheros and I have never eaten such bland food before. The beans were hard as though they hadn't been cooked all the way and I am not sure how, but even the single slice of bacon that came with it was bland. I ended up eating the eggs on top of the corn tortillas and left the rest of my food. One of my sons ordered the lunch burrito with chicken and without me prompting him, also said that it was bland and flavorless. My other son ordered the short stack and said that the pancakes were ok but poured the syrup on and it tasted like maple flavored water and made the pancakes soggy. My husband got the chicken fried steak and said it was ok once he put a ton of salt on it. Please see the photos. We ended up leaving most of our food untouched. We paid our bill in full and left tip, which was over $100 for bland food that we didn't hardly eat. I would recommend skipping this place as the food is bland and tasteless, even by hungry teenage boy's standards. The two stars of this review are definitely because staff was great.
