Conveniently located off the highway, amusement park and expo center, this place should honestly have more potential. Anyhoo it does boast a large store and great gas prices. I love Speedway so much as a company, but the ones in Louisville just aren't as nice as the ones in…read moreother cities (especially Lexington for some reason, I lived there a little while and most of theirs seem so much nicer). A BIG problem with the Speedways in Louisville I've seen thusfar (including this one) is that they have the most inconvenient, bizarre layouts, both when it comes to parking spaces and also inside the actual buildings. Why are the layouts made to where even when there's only one or two people there it still feels cramped? It is hard to even tell what is or isn't a parking spot here. I parked somewhere I thought was a parking lot, but I wasn't even sure. This particular trip I didn't need gas, just an energy drink and some other convenience store type items so didn't have to battle for one of the few spots near the gas pumps. I still am not sure if where I parked was a parking spot, but if I just need to jump in and out, I guess I'll just park my car randomly on the asphalt, because I guess that's what people do here. The inside is fully stocked and for a gas station, their prices are really good (both on snacks and gasoline, actually), but the set-up is just strange to me. Depending on where you are in the store, you can't tell which side the workers on the cash register are at, so you may walk to the wrong side, you may not. I guess that can be an amusing game if you're really bored: which side will ring me up? The worker that was there when I went was super friendly and I LOVE the Speedy Rewards system. I hate giving Speedways lower than 4 or 5 stars, but this one is just too dumpy and the layout is bizarre. If they just made their parking spots more clear I'd even add a star likely, because it's really the layout that makes this particular Speedway a hassle more than anything else. I feel like either my car (or myself) is going to get hit by someone one day.

Review for The Intoxicated:…read more Is it 2 AM? Are you in the Highlands? Are you tipsy and walking home or to a nearby friend's place? Well... this review is for you. (Calm down sober people. I'll get to what you want to know in a minute). You've left one of the many bars in this area of the Highlands. You're fine but you can easily feel a headache coming on that will most likely kill you tomorrow. You can't drive anywhere. Nothing else is open. What you need is a chilled and delicious Gatorade (G2 preferably for the calorie conscious). This convenient store is your lifesaver(if you want these too, they're also available in the candy section). Like any convenient store, you can pick up a variety of snacks... even Krispy Kreme donuts! They also have a bathroom in case that donut isn't staying down. You're already thinking ahead with hydrating on your walk before bed. Why not think further ahead and pick up some donuts or packaged pastries for breakfast when you wake up? We all know you're going to feel awful in the morning. If you're of the belief that the best medicine for a hangover is by drinking more, you can do that too. They have a beer cooler here if that's your mission. Review for The Sober: This is a decent convenient store. You can buy gas here but I wouldn't encourage it. At this intersection, it tends to be more expensive. That might change if the proposed Thorntons goes in at Baxter/Broadway. This convenient store is close to where I live, close to places I go, and it's a great place to be in and out. I've seen it busy and the clerks always get everyone through and out the door. In short: -- 4 stars for the convenience -- Subtracting a star for the higher than average gas prices
