This one has been in operation for many years and business always seems to be booming. Of course it is a gas station and convenience store so I do not expect to go and get a 5 star meal or the latest in organic sprouts. What it offers is a clean environment to sell all those products that yes, may not be the healthiest thing for us but certainly are in high demand. Highlights would include the self serve soda fountain with dozens of flavor combinations and at $0.95 for all sizes, definitely less than most competitors. It is open 24 hours which in small towns is a plus when you run out of things like aspirin or just have a 2 am snack craving. Gas is on par with neighboring Kokomo but of late, is running about 10 cents more a gallon than some of the stations in Marion... you decide if the extra 15 miles is worth the drive. They have a new self checkout that is way too sensitive, or malfunctioning. No one is new to the self checkout game, been around for a good decade already. One problem with it is the over-command of this particular one, its constantly stopping the process on its own, you pretty much have to have an employee assist unless you have like 2 items. Sad but having a human being check out is gone from this store as its being aggressively pushed like no other store to use it. Which would be fine if there were more attributes to shopping there, besides a few select things being less money. Kinda sad this store chose this over a remodel or keeping stable stock of food. You can tell the self check is really expensive, too. Its literally a bummer to shop groceries anymore, but the tech is truly depressing to see in the one thing thats supposed to bring people together. Food.
