I don't know why or how speedconnect was allowed to shut down and Vume could keep sending statements with out giving customers a reason for 0 service and still collected payment. They should have been made to refunded all money collected. read more

Run away and find anyone else. This is terrible Internet with the worst customer service on the planet. We were customers for many years, as we had limited options. This company stopped servicing our area and kept my payment, after promising a refund. It's been almost a year that they promised a refund. Service was cancelled in our county in Montana after nearly a month of being without a signal and being told by Speed Connect's recordings that they were working to resolve the issue. When I called I was finally told service would not resume, I was also told I would be refunded for that month (June 2023). As yet no refund to my bank account and now I can't reach Speed Connect by phone. the office has been closed every time I call, which is always during business hours. If a recording says your region is experiencing difficulties (currently that is Idaho) be forewarned. read more

Speedconnect is terrible! We've had them for years and now I have no internet service and can't get ahold of anyone. No one answers the phone number or returns email. The attorney general needs to get involved because I'm not paying for no internet service and I don't my credit ruined. There is far too many people this is happening to. So frustrating. So wrong! Was contacted by speed connect and told they would be upgrading the system and the plug and play from the old commspeed isp would not work. Made an appt for 01/12/2023 for the upgrade was told sometime between 8a-4p someone would be here. I finally called the day of the appt since it was 3pm,still hadn't heard anything. Got hold of tech support, they checked with the "installer" who said he was on his way and was 15 minutes away. Once he arrived it was 3:45p. He looked at my house and said installation would be approx. two hours!!! They'd be done after 6pm. I told them no, I still had things to do before dark. WARNING! If anyone is looking for a reliable internet provider, AVOID TPT SPEEDCONNECT! Service was decent when owned by SpeedComm. When an issue arose, one could always reach a representative by phone for assistance and the problem would get resolved quickly. But that was then. Service with TPT SPEEDCONNECT, although running very slow when working, has been down since October 23, 2023. As of November 12, 2023, it is still down. I have been attempting by nearly daily phone calls to get this company to cancel my account and stop billing me for service that I am no longer using nor want. Their policy states that in order to cancel it must be done by phone. But NO ONE IS THERE TO SPEAK TO YOU! AND, the company does not give the option to leave a message for a return call!! It states one can email the Sales, Billing, or Support Departments, but that is futile as well. I know because I have done that to no avail. And their recording also directs one to use the portal. Of course they do... because there one can only print out past payment history and/or pay a bill. No option there either to ask for cancellation or cease in bogus billing with threats of additional fees and turning one's account over to a third party, i.e., collection agency! It has been a nightmare! Checking the company on BBB.org shows approximately six pages of complaints. If anyone is interested, you can file a complaint with the FCC, like me, with the hopes that some action will be taken on the consumers' behalf and thereby resulting in a speedy resolution. I just spent 45 minutes reading the reviews, and all those people that rated commspeed hit the nail on the head. Been trying to get a hold of them, because they say my bill is due TOMMORROW. Can,t pay by phone or by internet, and they hang up on you when you call. Stay away, very, very poor Company. Not LOYAL to there customer, Especially when you have been with them for YEARS! Do not recommend at all! In our area, the towers are over crowded and I have been told this several times by Tech Support and a Technician that came out. Internet has been hit or miss for a long time! Sometimes it don't work at all and other times it's so slow you cannot do anything. Tech said we had good signal....it's just a problem with overcrowded towers. People pay for a service and have a contract, but SpeedConnect is NOT living up to their side of the contract....which is fast service. Cannot do work from home at times and kids cannot do homework at times. Ummmm...can you say class action lawsuit? If they don't want to address the issues, then compensate your customers and shut down! read more

Worst internet on planet earth. Worse than dial up no joke. It cuts out every like four to five minutes all day long.

I would post negative stars if I could. I was a customer for almost 20 years. Speednet sold out and became Speedconnect and it is neither speedy nor connected! It used be good, with excellent tech support and all that went away when they got bought out. We went through years of frustration with them! Non-existent tech support, all you get is an auto-generated email with a "ticket number" that means nothing. No one answers the phone. Constant outages, constant dropping and buffering. Absolutely no internet during typical peak usage times. Completely unreliable. When I could get someone on the phone, which wasn't often, they were rude and condescending and said that 1 Mbps was enough to get email, so why was I complaining? They also try to double bill, sending notices that the bill is overdue when it's already been paid. So happy to have found a different ISP and canceled them, but they continue to bill even after being canceled. Definitely a horrible company to be avoided! read more

Stay away from this company. They claim "up to 15mbps download". Key phrase is "up to". What you can expect is around 8-9mpbs at 3am to 9am. The rest of the day you're lucky to peak at 4mbps. My experience with their customer service has been like a joke. I spoke to them in November 2019. Long story short, they over sold their tower but claim they didn't because a competitor bought the tower space they had leased. They explained that they would be adding 5G to towers overloaded the first of the year. I was given $20 off my bill, which is not sufficient with a $70 bill with a connection that simply does not work for a person that has a normal schedule. Once again I called in January, I got the same explanation that upgrades were coming. This pattern continued into the first week of March. If you value a reliable internet connection, pay the extra money and go with someone else. Signing with this company is a waste of time and money, I would rate at zero stars. read more

They will not provide the speeds they advertise, and if you request a credit for the time the internet is unuseable they will tell you to take your business elsewhere. They treat their customers like garbage because they know most of them are rural and don't have other ISP options. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and terrible ratings and reviews all over the web. They try to remove all the negative comments on their Facebook page but can't keep up. This provider is THE biggest joke out there. No matter how many times I ask customer service any questions related to the incredibly slow connection (like less than 2 Mbps!), I never got a straight answer. Don't even think about getting in touch with anyone beyond the customer service person on the line-won't happen. I just received a ridiculous bill which they (for the first time in the 3 YEARS I kept paying for their crap service), charged me an additional $30 for going over data which was never mentioned in my contract! Like reviewers on other sites I have dealt with unstable service. Like, dropping completely nearly every day. I work from home and this causes serious issues. Most recently, in addition to terrible internet service I have dealt with horrendous customer service. Payment made in late August for September was cashed but Speed Connect states that it wasn't deposited into their account--EVEN AFTER PROVIDING A COPY OF THE ENDORSEMENT WHICH MATCHES PREVIOUS PAYMENTS AND MY NEXT PAYMENT, which I had already sent via my bank. Now they turned off my service even though they were researching that payment AND an additional payment was made. They 'restore' service after speaking to upper management and miraculously they can 'now see the internet is working' but I can't connect. I have explained a million times that I work from home and lost an hour yesterday, the ENTIRE day today, and only god knows when they will show up tomorrow. When calling to see if there were any updates (i.e. schedule change that may allow quicker service by a tech), my husband & I both spoke with Tiffany, who was snippy, would not allow us to talk without interruption, and downright rude--'I set it up and told you it'd be tomorrow, so it will be tomorrow'. If there was a single other provider jn my area I'd switch without delay. I guess the only way they stay in business is by being the only option in remote locations because it is most certainly not because of good business practices. read more

Speedconnect is hands down the worst internet service provider I've dealt with. Not only has their service fell through the floor in the last few years but their customer service is atrocious at best. Every night around 9 pm my service drops to nothing and they just shrug and reset my modem. That's the best they can come up with, they don't maintain anything and oversell their towers. Just like everyone else said. Terrible just terrible! Stay away from them. Been with speedconnect for around 4 years now and tired of their crap. They started out good with decent speeds, I saw speeds hitting 7Mbps at one point into the beginning. Now I barely hit 1Mbps. I actually have a degree in computer networking and so whenever they try to tell me it's on my end, I throw it back in their face with my degree and shut them up. The problem is with these ISP providers is they start out good, but then they get money hungry and sign up as many people as they can to make more without upgrading their technology. Then their servers/towers get overcrowded and we the paying customer literally and figuratively pay for it. It's bunch of b.s. I'm on board with class action lawsuits, but not just one ISP provider but ALL of them. There should be a federal law or a lawsuit against them for false advertisement. Idk. But speedconnect better shape up soon or I'm shipping them out soon. Luckily I don't have a contract with them anymore. read more

I would never use this company again. They steal your money. I payed my bill before it was due and the cancelled because the service did not work and I called and cancelled service and I had one rep tell me they will send me check back and then I checked my banking and they cased so I called again and asked why they cased my check and she told me the other rep was wrong and I would not be getting my money back. So they basically stole my money. Never missed a payment and always paid early. I would not recommend anyone to use this service read more

I would avoid this company. My internet started out nice, and then all of a sudden my connection speeds went down to below 1mb. They replaced my modem to a new model, which prevents me from opening ports to play games with friends. On top of this, usually once per month my speeds drop down below .5mb/s every night until I call them. Then they tell me that they'll credit my account for the inconvenience, and then never give me the credit they promised. They are a bad company! read more

The first few weeks were as advertised, then it went down hill fast. WHEN you get a human at customer service, they are quick to defend themselves and try to demonize you. After countless calls, they agreed to send a tech out to trouble shoot my single computer connection because I cannot load a website between 3pm and 9pm Monday to Friday. They are obviously over committed and its like an act of congress to get any satisfaction. I've been paying a premium amount for their service and have received same as or less than dial-up service. Its been at least a year now of $65 a month for nearly useless service with a one-time credit if $50. This company is horrible. After you get past the normal "sir, its on your end" crap, then they keep telling customers that they are expecting additional bandwidth on their backhaul. Lies. All lies. Get satellite or any other provider, but stay away from speednet or speed connect or whatever they call themselves. read more
