So disappointed. I…read morecalled earlier today to get information on a toddler group that started today mainly to find out if they had space. The lady I spoke with me confirmed they had space available. She also confirmed the information on the website which showed I could purchase one, four or the full 12 sessions. I asked her if we should take our toddler with us and she said to find a babysitter. Upon hanging up, I read more on the website and noticed it mentioned that the toddler is a part of it so I called back again. The same lady proceeded to apologizing for giving me the wrong information and yes to take our toddler. She also mentioned she only worked the afternoons as if that is an excuse to not know about the offerings of her workplace. I should have noticed the red flag. Anyways, I decided let's give this place a try. I asked my husband to leave work early, got my daughter all excited about a "new place" we would visit, pumped milk for my newborn and took a 30+ minute drive to this place. When I arrived the same lady, yet again, proceeded to apologize again saying I could not attend the session because I would have to pay for all 12 classes up front. I think my face showed the shock because she said she would talk to one of the therapists to see if we could attend. She came back and basically told us to leave but I'm sorry. It took so much for us to make it there to be treated that way. The right thing would have been to honor what their website offers especially after one of their employees confirmed it and said for us to go over. To the owner, train your staff and fix your website. For being a child-based business you failed at making my daughter feel welcomed. We left there with her feeling rejected and sad after she saw other kids but telling her we couldn't stay.

I'm so grateful I had Inara Arauz as my doula for my son's birth! She made a great difference in my…read morelabor experience. From early on, she offered thoughtful guidance on exercises, breathing techniques, and what to expect throughout the birthing process, which helped me feel more prepared and less overwhelmed. We were all impressed by her knowledge of the birthing process, babies, and how confidently she guided me along the way. When it came time for labor, her support was exactly what I needed. She helped me work through contractions, kept me grounded with my breathing, and created a calm, reassuring environment. Her care feels truly personal, and it's clear she's passionate about what she does. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing doula!

From the very beginning, she made me feel supported, educated, and completely empowered. Going into this pregnancy, a successful VBAC was incredibly important to me and Amber believed in me every step of the way. She never wavered in her confidence, even in moments when I needed extra reassurance. Her calm presence, steady encouragement, and deep knowledge made such a difference in helping me feel safe and strong during labor. Because of her support, I was able to achieve the VBAC I so deeply hoped for. That experience was healing, powerful, and something I will cherish forever. She advocated for me, guided my husband in how to support me, and created an environment where I felt completely heard and respected. Amber isn't just a doula she is a gift. Thank you so much to mothersRetreat and If you are looking for someone who will stand beside you with compassion, strength, and unwavering belief in your body and your birth, she is the one. I will forever be thankful she was by our side as we welcomed our baby girl into the world.

From the very first tour, the warmth and compassion I felt from the founder and staff gave me so much confidence, and working closely with my son's teachers with daily updates and genuine care has been everything I hoped for. My 11-year-old loves it here, and as a parent, having speech and occupational therapy on site along with community events and real-life experiences makes life easier and more meaningful for our family. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this school.

These milestones are a culmination of blood, sweat, tears, and unrelenting belief in a boy and his capacity to overcome his fears. Mary Palacio-Pike and David Pike founded Crystal Academy in 2009, after their son David was diagnosed with Autism. They had a vision to create a special needs private school, in response to the lack of local public facilities that provide education for children on the spectrum. Within those walls in Crystal Academy lies a village of support where everyday there are acts of love performed. Everybody from the founders, teachers, therapists, admin staff, are supportive, kind, and professional. Every student has an individualized learning plan which is specially tailored to each child's needs. In addition, it is a therapy center offering speech therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and ABA. The collaboration between the therapies, is the key to success. My son has achieved a lot since he started at Crystal Academy and I know will continue to exceed all expectations, with the loving support of the staff at Crystal Academy.

My husband and I came to TGP just for information on hospital birth and ended up being blessed in so many ways by the employees there. After meeting and becoming informed by Michelle, one of the owners, we decided to hire a doula in order to have assistance during the birth of our first baby. Their doula services come at different prices in order to ensure that everyone from varying financial backgrounds can have access to this vital service. Our doula, Florencia, was a rock for us during the birth. She kept me focused and ensured that I got the birth that I wanted for baby and me. All the doula services come with access to three very informative classes. Take advantage of these and their very knowledgeable team! We learned so much and met other families going through this experience. It was wonderful. I can't say enough and express how grateful I am to these ladies. They made the community real for me when I didn't think it possible. I had arranged to have the two female doctors at the practice I used be available to assist my birth. The day I went into labor, my doctor and her backup became unavailable. Leaving me to their male doctor who had been particularly unkind to me at previous visits. I was a wreck laboring thinking he would be at the delivery. My doula contacted the owners at TGP and they made magic happen. Through their help I was seen and had my baby delivered at the hospital by an amazing midwife. My situation may not be common but their assistance was amazing and made the community of women empowering child birth real to me. It goes without saying my husband and I couldn't be more grateful for their services. Our little baby boy was born healthy, naturally, and drug free this past May.

Having a doula was incredibly…read moreimportant to me during my labor that I actually booked one from the Gathering Place at only 4 months pregnant. At 34 weeks, my doula contacted me via EMAIL to inform me she was moving out of state and no longer able to attend my birth or provide postpartum support. Frantically I tried to find a new doula but at that point there weren't many options and I did not have anytime to build rapport. They gave me an alternate doula who was listed as a level I (I paid for level IV) and then tried to suggest that their website was not up to date. They were also impossible to get in touch with and only communicated by text and email. I ended up not being able to have any doula support at very complicated early induction due to preeclampsia where I ended up having every intervention under the sun short of a c section to make sure my daughter could be safely delivered. My daughter just came home from nicu and I have no postpartum support - my family does not live near me and with the covid resurgence they are not able to come - another reason why I wanted a doula. The kicker is, the Gathering Place won't even give me a full refund after all of this. If having a doula is an important part of your birth plan or postpartum plan, I would highly recommend going elsewhere to ensure you actually have one when your baby actually arrives.
