We were seeing Dr. Waters for my 3-year old son's speech delay and everything started out fine--he…read moretrusted her quickly and enjoyed the play-based learning. However, around the 6th session he got very frustrated during a task and threw a toy at her. No one was injured and of course throwing like that is never okay. However, her response was to abruptly end the session--she literally said, "You need to grab your purse and leave". We left quickly and without protest in shock. I left a voicemail and two emails asking if we could chat about the situation before she responded 5 days later and she showed zero empathy or vested interest in us. She said that situation is a time for parenting, not speech therapy, and she just doesn't deal with it. We started speech therapy so that he can find his words and here was an opportunity to teach and I felt we were punished for the exact thing we were seeking her help to improve. I spoke to at least 4 other speech therapists to get their opinion and all of them said they would never just end a session like that (particularly because he wasn't throwing a tantrum--it was a single act of frustration and then he looked to her for a response and because of his age) and one even said RUN from that type of provider. At that point, the trust was gone and we ended all future services.

We came to see Dr. Anna Waters exactly two years ago for severe apraxia. The only word my daughter,…read morewho was two years and 4 months at the time, could say was "mama". It took us a few months to master "up" and "in". Dr Waters told us from the beginning that our daughter will speak. One of our first goals was to pronounce two syllable words correctly in a year's period of time. We were there in six months. Dr Waters incorporated innovative sensory integration technique called PROMPT into our sessions and saw us 2-3 times per week. Now, two years later, my daughter utters 3-5-4 word sentences like "Mama how was your day?" and "what is this?". She even said lately "mama called and doctor said no monkey in the bed". Her speech and language continue to rapidly improve. Dr Waters is effective and passionate about what she does, always available to talk to, and truly cares about her patients. She goes well beyond your typical medical practice in presenting your child's case to the insurance, providing you with first class care and helping your child to develop its true potential. Very talented and dedicated therapist and a wonderful person.

After receiving a referral from our primary care doctor we searched all around for a speech clinic…read morefor my toddler. It took us a couple of weeks to find one without a long waitlist that could see him in a reasonable amount of time. I consider us very lucky to have been placed with Brittany at Speech and Play. It's a long drive for us but it's well worth it. She has done a fantastic job helping my toddler become confident to speak and practice sounds. He is now communicating much more clearly leading to less meltdowns and a happier kid! The Speech Therapists here truly care about children and work hard to help them practice their speech all while having fun. It has always been fun and the attitudes of the staff has always been pleasant and lighthearted. After nearly 12 months we are now at the point where we will be attending monthly instead of weekly because of how far my toddler has come in his speech development so I thought it was a good time to leave this beaming review. Without Brittany we would've been struggling for a long time to help our toddler and we are forever grateful for her efforts and skill that has resulted in his success. Thank you thank you! We will miss her when we completely wrap up his standing appointments.

My dad is there recovering from a heart attack. No one there communicates from one shift to the…read morenext, or from one day to the next. They would not give him his pain meds as prescribed. When he complained about not being able to sleep, and how much pain he was in, the nursed would ask him the same questions that another nurse had asked him the day before. Then we got a lot of "I'll leave a note for your doctor". It seems that the note never got left because we were told that several times about my Dads pain. He would occasionally go up to 11 hours without it. It was prescribed for every 6. So I asked for a list of his medications and the times that he is given them. I have medical power of attorney, so it seems easy enough. Nope! Not here. First I asked a woman at the front desk area, who refused to give me her name, and she told me I had to find his nurse.... Well, he was nowhere around my Dad's room, so I asked his CNA, Moreno. She told me that I had to ask his nurse. Like Im supposed to wander around the care facitly looking for his nurse. So I hit his call button. 25 minutes later, I timed it, Moren, his CNA came in. "I don't need you, I need his nurse", I said. He finally came in and asked the same questions and said he'd leave the doctor a note. Unbelievable. So I tried to contact 2 people in charge of his care, Debbie and Joyce. No one answered the number I was given by his nurse Jordan, and Debbie hasn't replied to my email. It's been over a week and still no response. I am beyond pissed off about this. I would tell anyone looking for a care facility, full-time or for recovery, to pass on this one. They obviously don't care much about their patients. And, sorry this is so long. If anyone from the facility would have called me back, I would have told them all of this in such less public way. Please! Pick the next one on the list...

I stated several times that I am allergic to cucumbers, and yet they were still in every salad (I ate a lot of salad because so much of the food was inedible.) They were short staffed, so I frequently waited up to 20 minutes for a CNA, not good when the meds give you diarrhea. Most of the staff gave it their best, but not all. One night an older woman (I presume a CNA) came in, bent over my bed and shook me angrily. I was stunned, but later figured out that she thought I was the woman crying, "Help me, someone please help me," on and off all night. Still no excuse for what she did, and she should be fired for patient mistreatment. I would NEVER allow a relative of mine to be here; they don't pay enough attention to what patients need, and at least one of the actually abused me.
