I was able to get an initial appointment within 3 weeks and my follow-up appointments have all been within a week to 10 days. This is unheard of when seeing a neurologist in the area. For example: It took me 3 months to get a primary care appointment for the referral, and was booked 4 months out after that for an initial appointment with a neurologist at The Portland Clinic. All of the interventions I've received so far have been very helpful for my nerve pain that has been contributing to my headaches and migraines. Lastly, all of the staff has been kind and courteous to me at all my visits. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone experiencing chronic pain. I'm very grateful that I found it.

As a patient seeking help for pain, communication matters. Before my appointment, I tried to confirm the details but did not receive a clear response by email, text, or phone. When a medical office is difficult to reach before you are even seen, that raises serious concerns about how responsive they will be once you are actually under their care. After receiving no confirmation, I contacted the office. When I did not receive a confirmation of the cancellation, I called a second time and left a voicemail message canceling my appointment a second time. Despite that, I was later billed as a "no show", which is unacceptable. If the office fails to respond, fails to properly confirm an appointment, and then fails to process a cancellation, the patient should not be penalized for that breakdown. I cannot speak to the doctor's medical care because I never made it that far. But I can speak to the office experience, and it was poor enough that I chose not to proceed. For anyone dealing with pain, the last thing you need is added stress, unclear communication, and billing issues before care has even begun. This experience left me with the impression that the practice is more focused on collecting fees than making patients feel heard, supported, and properly cared for.

My experience at the surgical center was also as smooth as I could have possibly imagined. The staff, nurses, and anesthesia team were great. I never felt like I was in a scary hospital setting, and people paid attention and checked in on me often. As a fellow healthcare professional I know how to run a business and care for patients without my office feeling like a people mill. This is not like other large clinics or hospitals I have been to. It feels more personal and more like a family practice.

Balog 's office never did fax my left shoulder arthrogram to my surgeon. In May 2019, Balog's office finally got around to faxing to my orthopedic surgeon of record since 2016-- a mish-mash of incomplete medical reports that did not include my arthrogram MRI report. No where did Carl Balog indicate that I was a surgical referral. Therefore, Carl Balog claimed that he was coordinating a surgical plan with my orthopedic surgeon of record in a timely manner since 10-2018 and in 11-2020 he never did. In addition, Balog instead sent out two different medical charts-- one report went to the insurer and a totally different medical chart was sent to to me. Despite his knowing of this problem it continued for eight months Balog did not provide me a medical chart for 04-2020 or 05-2020 despite my request for these reports. Since COVID-19 Balog has not seen me in person since March of 2020 and we were having medical appointments every month by phone.

Dr. Anderson and his team were professional , friendly, kind, and went out of their way to make me comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. I was a bit apprehensive that Medicare no longer allows the procedure to be done under a general anesthetic, but the procedure took 5 minutes for two injections and the local that was administered took away over 95% of any discomfort.
