They take insurance which is great but my physical therapist injured me and encouraged me to keep…read moredoing the treatment even though it was making me worse. When I spoke with my massage therapist and osteopath about the exercises she had me do, they said they didn't make sense given my issues. I asked her to call my physical therapist where I used to live to find out what she did. That never happened over the course of a month. She did speak to my pelvic floor Physcial therapist but then said she wanted to have me do exercises I know the pelvic floor pt doesn't allow me to do yet. It is like she came up with a sense very quickly of my problem and a treatment plan without looking much at my records or consulting with the rest of my team. My case is very complex, and she didn't take that into consideration. I became worse over time except when seeing someone else who said my issue was something else and gave different treatment. Pt was resistant though and wouldn't alter course. Also my sunglasses were stollen by the tech. I had them when I came in, and then after I did stim and heat, they were gone. The tech asked if they were "expensive." Seriously!?!? If your issue is simple and you need a place that takes insurance, they can probably help you. But they certainly didn't me.

I had a labrum tear in my shoulder repaired, and to describe the condition as 'uncomfortable' after…read morefour weeks would be a tremendous understatement. I picked Physiotherapy Associates (I think they their name is also BAK) because of proximity, but perhaps I was lucky because I can't recommend the care I received higher. They have a clean, open office with a lot of room. They've recently done some remodeling and it added to the space. The equipment was in good shape, and they have a changing room if you need it. Ryan Napeek was my therapist, and Frank and Zack helped with the exercises. Ryan was always on time, was thorough in preparing for my sessions, and was careful to follow the surgeon's instructions. Everyone will tell you PT stands for 'pain and torture', and it does hurt a bit, but honestly not as much as everyone said it would. Ryan made sure to monitor my progress and not do anything that would potentially damage the repair. He was incremental and careful during range of motion exercises, and not to mention a lot of fun to talk to (which helps when you need something to take your mind off of your current activity). Frank and Zack make sure you do your exercises, and they are nice about it. The electric stimulation machine is pretty cool, I used it for the first couple of visits but after a while you don't need it. I just had my four month follow up, and the surgeon said, 'I can tell you now, but after your surgery I didn't expect you to recover as well as you did; the tear in your labrum was quite serious.' Kind of a shock to hear that, but as my range of motion is 90% with signs of getting better, I can only assume it was largely because of the quality of the surgeon, but also because of the quality of the physical therapy.

It's never easy as a parent to navigate any kind of therapy for your child -- even when the…read moresituation isn't too severe. From day one, Mayra and the entire team at Speachy made us feel completely at ease. Mayra is not only deeply knowledgeable, but also has a natural ability to create a welcoming environment where our daughter felt comfortable right away. She always took the time to explain what was going on and gave us clear, practical ways to support our daughter's progress. We've seen real improvement, and more importantly, our daughter genuinely enjoyed going to her sessions. A special thank you to Erica as well -- she made all the administrative stuff so easy and handled every request with patience and care. And even when we had to cancel at the very last minute (which we felt terrible about), they never once made us feel bad. On the contrary, they were always kind, understanding, and incredibly supportive. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and we couldn't recommend the Speachy Learning Center more.

We were referred to this office by a family friend two years ago. All the teachers are highly qualified, we met with teacher Shereen and teacher Michelle. My son loved coming to meet with them week after week.

My mother has been a post acute patient for just over 2 weeks after a short hospital stay and…read morerecommendation that rehab would be needed to get her stronger and back on her feet. Our family discouraged us from this place because it is an older facility and it seems there is a mix of physical / occupational therapy and longer term care patients (it is true). What I found was a caring staff, smaller set-up and nice group of patients to help mom transition to what might be a new path for her. Mom has vision, hearing, short term memory and now physical weakness and she likes the place. I have found that when I want a modification to her care (later bed time, that I would do mom's laundry, to review the list of goals for her physical abilities) the staff is quite willing to accommodate. Mom may not fully get back on her feet and we might need long term care and Devonshire has been a good staging area to determine what is possible. Mom's room mate has be so patient with mom and her short term memory issues. The grounds are nice and it is possible to have our visit out in the courtyard which mom likes. Devonshire is not for everyone but for my mother's needs it has been a God send for our family.

My father recovered at Devonshire Oaks for over a month following a heart attack. At 96, the…read moredoctors didn't give us much hope for his recovery/betterment, but with the combined care of both our family members visiting almost daily and the Devonshire staff he left there happy and strong enough to manage his daily activities with minimal oversight. What sets Devonshire apart from other facilities we've witnessed is the relaxed, but responsible set up: not too many beds, nurses/staff were kind and responsive, no overly rigid rules on visiting hours and it made our family's participation easy & welcomed at a very stressful time in our lives. The other differentiator was the food - they generally cook well balanced meals, especially at dinner. The fillet of fish with a tomato puree topping still stands out in my mind. Thank you Devonshire Oaks!
