Her approach is warm, caring, supportive, playful, knowledgeable, creative, and engaging. She was flexible with her treatment approach and met our child where he was at. Our child always looked forward to their sessions. She is also great at managing behavioral regulation and provided some practical techniques to us as parents. In addition, Shamim is wonderful working with parents. We appreciated her willingness to consider realistic recommendations on how to help our child and practice speech/language at home given our busy schedules. She kept us informed with his progress. My son took to Mayra immediately and looked forward to going to her sessions every week. She even took the time to rework our session schedules due to my changing schedule and also arranged for my son to practice speaking or "playing" with other kids around his speech level. We figured that we would wait him out, but six months went by and instead of getting better, his stutter actually started to get worse and he started to have some other concerning developments. At that time, we decided to bring him in to see a speech therapist. We feel so lucky to have found Mayra. After 3 sessions with Mayra, my son's speech dramatically improved -- actually, more than improved, the speech disfluency completely went away! We continued to go to our session for a few more weeks until Mayra let us know that she no longer needs to see him on a weekly basis and we should just check in every month or so, so she can keep an eye on his speech and make sure he doesn't regress. I…read morelooked up for OT providers on google when I realized we need help with executive functioning difficulties. She doesn't accept insurance and is out of network. She called me back after receiving my voicemail, and talked to me at length about how her therapy differs from others. All my friends said if someone oversells something, it's definitely not good. I had not much to lose and it was close enough for me to manage. Boy! was I suprised! That's an understatement. Every single session brought profound change. 'Bliss' is what I describe what I see after every session in a normally happy child. Gestures came out, expressive language skills sky rocketed, bi-lateral coordination improved, social skills improved, interactivity improved. Coginitive functions improved. We have been there for little over 6 months, I can't even remember how the kid was when we started. We are at a totally different level and I feel confident with every single session. Also, I haven't met a therapist who is so confident and assures us that our kids will be fine the way she does. She truly means it with all her heart. She is very confident in her therapy and so we see the results. She is as dedicated as one can be in her art of sensory processing. She is the best thing that happenned to us and I am grateful for GOD to lead us to her. She is also the best counselor when I go to her after a bad report from school. She boosts my morale instantly. She is always available, I report an issue or share input she responds immediately. At one time, I panicked after a school report and she was on vacation and I messaged what I can do about it. She called me, while on her vacation and spent over an hour over the phone, her personal time, reassuring me sensing my anxiety. I cannot think of anybody other than my family members being with me in such tough times. She spends way beyond an hour for the therapy sessions we go to with things like this. She is family that you don't know you need in the special needs journey. I wish she trains some OTs to expand her practice to make her services available for wider public. They are so needed for so many kids. Every dollar we spend is completely worth it. I say even if you have to mortgage your house to afford her therapy, go for it. That will be the best investment that will reap rewards down the road and save you so much anxiety after you see the kind of progress you wish to see in your child. As you see in other reviews this is a consistent experience for every client she sees. She never lets a client go, it is not believable that nobody ever stops her therapy to change to a different provider. She is the one stop shop. You will never need to look elsewhere and you WILL feel fully taken care of.

Finding Neuropsych Kids changed everything. The care, attention, and insight Dr. Aronowitz provided gave our family a whole new understanding of who our child is as a learner and as a person. Instead of focusing only on what wasn't working, they helped us see the strengths and guided us with practical, meaningful recommendations. For the first time, our child felt understood and supported in a way that gave them confidence to define their own path. I can't recommend Dr. Aronowitz enough. When my child's school saw the report, they were blown away and said they had never seen anything so comprehensive. And my teen liked her(!). This week, we are sending our child off to college --to a program that is the right fit and one that they are genuinely excited about. Dr. Aronowitz has continued to provide support in this part of the learning journey as well, helping to line up the right accommodations for our child to be successful in university studies. Dr Jen's assessment was so comprehensive, and truly helped us to better understand our kiddo (both his challenges but also, his strengths!!) She works so well with young kids (our kiddo really enjoyed his sessions!) but also, she's so thorough -- both in the information she gets from us as parents, from teachers, and even other medical professionals (Dr Jen met with TWO of our kid's support team, to make sure she had the right information to form a complete perspective.) The final report was so detailed! Tons of data but also, thorough explanation. In our review meeting, she really took the time to talk through it with us, to make sure we understood it and had the opportunity to ask (a million!) questions. Her recommendations were very helpful and are giving us great next steps to help our kiddo. Genuinely, we can't recommend her highly enough.
