Our son, Silas, attended Wildflower for two years before our youngest ever started. When our daughter, Sloane, joined later, it felt like coming home all over again. When Silas needed additional support that his elementary school couldn't provide, Wildflower welcomed him back with open arms without hesitation. That level of compassion and commitment is rare. We have absolutely loved every teacher we've had throughout the years. These are the only people I would ever trust with my children, to the point that we have even used Wildflower teachers as babysitters when needed. That alone speaks volumes about the trust and confidence we have in this team. Almost a year later, our youngest still asks if we can stop by just so she can give her teachers a hug, and I think that says everything about the kind of place Wildflower is. If you're looking for more than just a daycare, if you want a family to help raise your child while they're away from home. I highly recommend Wildflower Montessori. Our children are stronger, more confident, and more successful because of the foundation they received here, and we will forever be grateful.

Our kiddo is the youngest of two, so we have been through many daycares and providers in our time. To put a fine point on it, Wildflower is far and away the best provider we have found in our roughly 9 years of using multiple providers (and touring many more!) we were looking for something that takes the best of Montessori, but isn't so stuck in the Montessori world that kids aren't being taught to excel later in a more traditional education environment. Our son had attended a strict Montessori school prior and he tells us almost every day how much he *loves* school. They provide so many fun experiences to mix things up, aerial yoga, the KC zoo, the KC chiefs, and field trips to the bank and grocery stores--and all of that in just the last couple of months. Our son *adores* his teacher, and the environment does feel very much like a family. One that we're happy to be a part of. (I will note that I was not prompted to do a review, nor was I compensated in any way).

Add that to a formula of "freedom with responsibility" and architecture that inspires minds and evokes college, and you'll probably understand why this is the best school in Kansas City. Then I met the staff at Metro Church Preschool and that went out the window. Metro is a smaller congregation on the corner of Brighton and 48th St. The Preschool and Daycare are a primarily family operation. My 5 year old daughter is not just ready for Kindergarten, she is above the curve and reading and managing at a second grade level and I attribute it to Miss Robin, the preschool teacher. Everytime I picked my daughter up these past few months I heard "We're going to miss her." Now a lot of places say this and they are being trite. Not the staff at Metro. They are deeply involved and take very great care and responsibility with each child in that building and they genuinely love every child. Now I have not used or gotten feedback on the infant care program, but if it is anything like the preschool, it has to be outstanding. If you work at Harrah's, North KC Hospital, Cerner, or anything in that area, Metro is just a 10 minute drive up the road and well worth it for your child's development. It is by far the best child development pregram I have encountered and I thank them whole heartedly for giving my little girl a running start on school.

The staff are super friendly and they update us with all the improvements our children are achieving. Our eldest is allergic to tons of food since he was diagnosed with G6PDD and he's also lactose intolerant. Beyond happy that Metro Church Academy was able to accommodate his special diet. They also teach well, seeing the improvement of our eldest child's knowledge with shapes, numbers, animals, letters and etc. They also send us a log sheet for my youngest that contains information like what and how much he ate, time and duration of his naps, potty changes, etc., everyday. Every morning, our kids wakes up excited to go to daycare and gets sad when we pick them up in the afternoon. The other kids are also friendly, they greet us and our kids as soon as we get there with 'good mornings' and they say "goodbye friend/s" to each other by the time we leave. My husband's employer is helping out with our childcare payments and Chris, who manages the academy was so helpful in communicating with the people in charge (in my husband's employers' side). They also gave us 15% discount since we have two children enrolled at the same time... Would recommend this daycare to other mommies/daddies. Additional info, we migrated here in the US last Dec. 2015 and our kids speaks a little english. They adjusted really well in daycare and our 3 year old learned to talk much faster than before..

It's great when my child says something that I didn't teach her, like pointing out a new color or naming an animal in a book. At 1.5 yrs old they are actually teaching her, not just keeping her placated during the day Although, with how happy she is when I pick her up every afternoon, I'm sure there's plenty of play time in there, too. They got her on a consistent napping schedule, teach/reinforce baby sign language with her, and always take the time to tell me about cute things she did that day to go along with her 'official' report card.

They disciplined a teacher for letting us know our daughter had been injured and that the director failed to call and let us know about it. This morning I took a tour of Ward Parkway Preschool. I attended two years here as a child many…read moreyears ago, and I plan to enroll my twin daughters here next year. This preschool is very friendly and has a happy atmosphere about it, which is my first requirement of a preschool. There are several classes of different ages. The youngest children are in a class of fourteen students with two teachers. Because the students are expected to be potty trained by the beginning of the school year, there is no changing table in the room, but--due to the young age of the children--this room has a restroom in the class (rather than the hall) so that the little ones can go to the toilet whenever they need. The preschool day is from 0900-1200, but after hours care is available from 1200-1430 and early care is available from 0800-0900. There are three age groups of children at Ward Parkway Preschool, up through pre-kindergarten. Each of the rooms is equipped with a variety of toys. The room for the youngest age group has a larger space for pretend play (toy kitchen, etc.) and a large table for trains and trucks, because kids of that age particularly like these activities. As the students progress to the older classrooms (the mid-age, second year preschool, and the pre-k), the classroom equipment and learning tools become a bit more elaborate. The teachers all seem to alternate the lessons between the more active and the quieter, keeping children engaged as they enforce the basics of early childhood learning. And all of the classes have a period of physical education once a week in a large open space in the basement. The students all seem engaged and happy. The feeling that I got from my visit to Ward Parkway Preschool was very good. The forms for next year's enrollment can be downloaded in mid-January (also the time of the preschool open house) with submission of applications in early February. I look forward to writing another review of this preschool after my daughters are (hopefully!) enrolled for the coming school year.

The staff have all been so amazing. They really develop relationships with the children. They have a safe, clean and friendly environment each day. I could not have found a better place for them!! The executive staff are just as friendly and easy to talk to as well. I appreciate all the fun things the kids get to do each month as well. They have field trips yearly, mother daughter spa days, father daughter dances, doughnuts with dudes, reading worm contest, fishing and hiking trips, and so much more.

The staff did not even acknowledge her, or us, when we dropped off/picked up. Definitely had a sense that something was off. We owned a business next to the center shortly after, and often watched as staff would yell, belittle, and threaten small children sitting outside play. There was constant yelling coming from the classroom nearest to our shop. After complaining to the owners, the only difference was that that staff member took the children to the opposite side of the building to play, and installed black curtains to cover her classroom windows. Several close friends and customers have also shared their own personal horror stories from this daycare. I highly recommend not taking any child to them.

As a result of such a wonderful experience, all three of our kids adjusted extremely well during the transition to kindergarten. They were above their peers academically, and made friends quickly. My daughter attended KinderCare beginning in October 2024. After repeated concerns at the Prairie…read moreView location--including unexplained bruises, being picked up in urine/feces-soaked clothing, severe rashes, and missing personal belongings--I transferred her to the Parvin & Cheotoue location in April 2025, hoping for a safer environment. Unfortunately, many of the same concerns continued. During our time there, my daughter was left alone, unclothed, and crying in the bathroom on multiple occasions, I witnessed this upon my arrival. She came home on multiple occasions with scratches and bruises that were not documented or explained, and there were several times staff could not tell me where she was when I arrived for pickup, leaving me to search for my own child. On one occasion, I found her outside with her hair caught in a bike wheel while a teacher was focused on a phone. She has been sent home in clothing 2 sizes too small instead of the clothing I have provided for her. Teachers also made inappropriate comments by telling me they believed my daughter was autistic rather than recommending a professional evaluation. Twice my daughter reported that a teacher smacked her hand and she reported another teacher pushed her forehead. She frequently told me teachers were mean, telling me they didn't listen to her and that other children were hitting, biting, pushing, and spitting on her. Since leaving the center, she has struggled with behaviors she did not display before, making her transition into school much more difficult. When I brought my concerns to staff and administration, I felt dismissed. I was spoken to unprofessionally in front of children, physically guided toward the entrance by a teacher during one interaction, and my concerns were not meaningfully addressed despite repeated complaints. The center also regularly notified parents about staffing shortages while continuing to operate under those conditions. After nearly two years of giving this facility opportunities to improve, I made the decision to disenroll my daughter. Every child deserves a clean, safe, nurturing environment where they are supervised, respected, and protected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and I cannot recommend this location to other families. Please, do not send your children here.
