This review is for Spectrum in general, not the local representatives.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN! I had service with them when I first moved to Cody, WY. I signed up for a 2 year discount plan. Each year it goes up until the 3rd year it goes up to "regular" price. I found the channels and high speed OK but, they are WAY behind on technology. The DVR interface is OLD, and you can only record 1 other show when watching another. I had a more current DVR 10 years ago with Direct TV. Watching TV from a remote location through their app or web site is PAINFUL! Frequently freezing and/or slow streaming made it almost unusable. You can only get to what you recorded on the TV the DVR is hooked to (again, I had remote access to my DVR 10 years ago). You cannot view DVR recording from the other TV's in the house either.
When my contract was over, I called and asked for another special/promotion that would keep my monthly down. They would not do anything, they suggested I reduce service to save on my monthly bill. So, I decided to look for a different service. I found a new service and signed up. I called Spectrum to disconnect. Of course NOW they want to give me another discounted year (just 1 year) for a great price. I declined but, as they were doing whatever they need to do while I was on the phone they keep giving me better and better deals to try to keep me. This was the end of April and I was told I was paid up until the middle of May, this turned out not to be true. My "billing period" was mid April to mid May. Their rule is if you even go 1 day into the "billing period", you have to pay for the whole month! That cost me another months payment of over $200.
Of course I called and told them when I disconnected I was told I was all paid up and I would not be billed again. They didn't give a damn, I owed the full amount.
With so many new services and companies available coming out right now, you would think a company would do everything they could to keep customers and to be technically competitive. This does not seem to be the case with Spectrum.
Stay away from them if you have other options! read more
