I spent my first 2 weeks of uk life here, and it was not sweet at all. At first I really thought…read moreall the service apartment were like that here in Manchester, until I moved.....
Once I opened the door of my room, I smelled curry, very very strong smells of curry that lasted until the day I left, the house still smelled like Indian curry. Which you couldn't really blame anyone cos there was no window excepted the bedroom. I tried to open the door at the balcony, but bugs came in. I think that's the reason why the smells lasts forever, cos they had no way out.
The bathroom was nice and clean, there's a huge bathtub with a nice shower head. However, if you wanna have a nice hot bubble bath, sorry, you can't. Because the hot water only gonna last for about 10 mins, after 10 mins, the hot water ran out, and you have to wait for 20-30 mins to get some more. Alright, how about just a normal shower? Usually, there will be a bath curtains or a glass door so the water does not splash all over the bathroom floor. Well they have a glass door which covered the half of the bathtub. So basically you have to wipe the floor every time after you take shower, if you like clean.
The living room was quite nice, there were 2 sofas and they're comfortable. But the lights were old and yellow(the light supposed to be in white color I think), so I usually turned on all the lights in the room then I can work.
It's an open-styled kitchen, they have almost all the equipments you will need for a simple meal. But I think the oven was broken, a button or sth was missing, so I never had a chance to press start lol
Or maybe I should have ask, but all I remember what the receptionist told me on the first day were just "you can't blah blah blah... Blah blah blah is strictly forbidden blah blah blah". Clearly they were more concerned about management then services. And people here never smile:(
I think the bedroom was the only thing I liked about here. The bed was big and soft, pillows were firmed. There were 2 lamps on both sides of the bed, one was broken. Doesn't really matter, but just felt disappointed when you moved into a service apartment which had so many problems.
There should be house keeping every week, but I only saw the maid once.
So if you just gonna stay for 1 or 2 nights, it's alright here. but if you trying to find a place to have a long stay and experience the manchester city, I suggested not to come here, there are soooooooo much more better choices which are better location, better service, and most importantly, better room! With not much different price.
