They carry a more expensive range of frames and lenses when compared to more recognisable high street names but you really do get what you pay for in this instance. The eye examinations are always extremely thorough and the after sales service (eg refitting glasses, repairs etc) is comprehensive.

I went in here because I needed a new set of glasses and spent about half and hour having my eyes tested and examined very thoroughly and choosing a frame and lenses. They don't sell all brands however as TAG Heuer seems to be missing from their selection but I am aware due to licensing they're only allowed to sell them in a select number of branches which doesn't even include their flagship London - Oxford Street location! The Assistant Manager who served me seemed really friendly, she was there to help me in and out of the store, service moved pretty quick. I mainly came in to buy a glasses cleaner, which I picked up a large spray for £3.50, I also tried on some new glasses. I felt the staff member listened to me and treated me with care, she even said "See you next month!" on the way out which I really liked as I mentioned I was due a new prescription the following month. One of my favourite stores in Chester city centre, while I still think the selection is a little better at my local Manchester Arndale store, the staff are just as good which created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. 4*

AVOID THIS COMPANY! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!…read more I've contacted this company several times now about buying their POV camera glasses. I have questions about prices, availability, shipping charges, tariffs, etc. but no one from this company has shown the courtesy to contact me to help. Since they are in the UK, I used their online help form to request that someone call me in the USA to answer my questions as international orders can sometimes be problematic. And since I do not have an international calling plan to be able to call abroad, I don't see it as unreasonable for a company to call a potential customer if they are interested in making a sale. Well, in short, this company is not interested in making a sale or perhaps they don't care to sell to people who are not in the UK. My suggestion is to take your business elsewhere. If you are looking for a POV camera glasses in the States, I ran across another company via a google search - Pivothead. They seem to have an interesting product. PS: I have to wonder if this isn't just some guy selling glasses out of his house that he buys wholesale from a Chinese manufacturing company. Anyone can have an awesome looking website these days; but it doesn't mean they are a top company with a dedicated customer service department.

Boots on Foregate Street is a large store, it is the larger of the branches Boots have in Chester…read moreand the product range is pretty good, they seemed to sell most items one would expect to find in a Boots store, although like Chester as a whole, the building/store wasn't new/modern compared to other stores, it certainly did the trick with a good product selection. There were some inconsistencies with the pricing, they seemed to have the old price labels on certain products, even for items which have been on sale for several weeks now, strangely this included Baylis and Harding hand washes which were priced at 50% higher than the actual price, but even just two or three meters away they had the correct labels (Surely they should have put the whole products from one range exactly together?) 4* - I would feel happy shopping here, although I prefer my local branch in Manchester, this branch isn't a bad alternative and is a great store in Chester town centre.

They have very unreliable self service tills and I have never seen anybody actually manning the main tills. Items that are reduced just don't scan and you need to find a staff member to sort it out which can be a real challenge. This boots doesn't do well in the morning or if it is busy. They don't seem to be able to get their staffing right. There is never enough staff to help customers at point of purchase and it really shows. Stock levels seem to be low most of the time and it means the full range is never available. They have a pharmacy and a variety of cosmetics counters in store.
