I had an excellent experience adopting from here even during quarantine. I followed the website for available adoptions and noticed that options were disappearing faster than appearing which is awesome for the pets. The only problem with the website is that you can't just click "interested" on an animal, you have to go through a separate page and fill out a form that only allows you to specify the name and species of the pet. So when they remove the animal from the website, you can't go back and reference the description or pictures of the animal. I got a phone call about 2 days after I filled out the form for a cat, but I had already filled out for other cats too that got adopted by others before me and I couldn't remember which one I was being called about. Anyways, despite that, I was informed about the medical conditions of the cat and asked about his behaviors. I was afraid they were sugar coating things and was nervous, but the person on the phone seemed genuine. I was given an appointment for 2 days after the phone call. I showed up a bit early and they allowed me to sit inside and wait. It was a little odd since there was not a lot happening inside, and they were pretty strict to the timing of the appointment. I was called upstairs by name and allowed into the backroom to see the cat I wanted to adopt. He was in a cage among other cats, and they warned me he would be afraid. But when I was introduced, he let me pet him and even flipped himself over immediately to let me rub him. It was adorable. I felt I got really lucky. I was handed a bunch of paperwork for the microchip details and the agreement. They give you a "warranty" incase the adoption has unforseen health issues. They also told me recommendations for when to follow-up with a vet and check for fleas. They also informed me of potential gingivitis to take care of sooner rather than later. I was out pretty fast after that, and it came to about $140. The only minor snag was I asked on the phone if I could buy a carrier there and was told yes, but when I was there they didn't have any. So they gave me a heavy duty carrying cardboard box to put the cat it. I went home via the metro with no problems. My adopted cat, Astro, has been amazing. He's about 1 year old. So far everything they said about him has kept true. He has no behavior issues, he got used to me and my apartment super fast, and he's adorable to boot. I was afraid that he would have clawing or litter box issues. Nope! Astro from day 1 was well acquainted with a litter box and he doesn't claw at my furniture at all. Even when he "kneads" me, he's very gentle and doesn't dig his claws into me. I'm disappointed I didn't do this sooner. I never imagined owning a cat, always wanted a dog, but I'm converted. And the SPCA made it painless to do. They didn't let me down and they treated Astro well when they found him.

There is an error since there are not 3 but actually 4 reviews & all 4 are positive. Three of the…read moreratings are 5/5 & one is a 4 which is almost a perfect score. Each one describes having had a very positive experience adopting their animal from the shelter . They only had good things to say about the condition the animals were in, their care & how well they were treated & loved. Of the four no one mentioned the number of animals as a problem except one person. He did not disagree that there were many animals but had no criticism of it negatively affecting the good quality of care they were receiving. In fact, he felt in view of the large numbers of animals desperately needing help, it made sense to take in more as long as the shelter was able to provide the necessary care to each of them. The concensus in these reviews is that they are indeed doing this very competently.

I am the proud owner of a very happy and healthy cat from Animal Rescue Network in Montreal!…read more This is a no-kill shelter, entirely run by the kindness of volunteers and donations from the community at large. As a former volunteer, I also worked to help maintain the shelter. I can say first hand that the comfort and personality of each cat is considered, rooms and cages are cleaned twice a day, with multiple feedings and treatments, and lots of one-on-one attention from a large team of people who are there because they love cats. ARN actively promotes the adoption of any healthy cat to a safe home. It's important to note that there are negative comments and images posted here that are very misleading. Most likely, any cat with visible symptoms is newly rescued and obtaining special treatment and recovery from a whole host of circumstances. It takes time for a cat to physically and emotionally recover from life on the street. If the cats are deemed to be happy and healthy, they are blessed to be adopted or live their full lives at the shelter where they are kept safe, warm, well fed, and loved. My advice to anyone is to make an appointment to visit the shelter and see for yourself that Animal Rescue Network is doing wonders to help these cats. Thank you ARN for the love you give to our furry friends that cannot speak for themselves!

The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They've always gone above and beyond for us and our furbabies. Dr. Drooker is the kindest most genuine vet I've ever been too. He's honest, caring and not out to get your money. He never judges when I email him with silly questions, he takes the time to answer, explain and genuinely cares. They are very reasonably priced, and they never push unnecessary test on you. I've recommended everyone and anyone I know with a fur baby and everyone absolutely adores this clinic. I was concerned that my dog couldn't be seen since we are traveling here from California. Within a few minutes one of the ladies from the clinic returned my call and reassured me they could clip the dogs nails. Upon arrival the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. While waiting for the vet technician to take my dog I could see how well various staff assisted other clients. Everyone was served with kind individual care. The vet technician caring for my dog was gentle and accommodating to my dog ( who has a metal pin in one of her back legs resulting in limited wear on the nails on that paw... my dog was so comfortable after having her nails clipped she didn't try bolting out of the clinic... she calmly waited while I paid and drank water ( which the staff kindly provided to the animal waiting). Thank you again
