The technicians had to clean up after nervous dogs. They never complained. Just acted like it was part of the job. I noticed how compassionate they were and loving towards the dogs as they hurried to prepare them for their surgery. We had X-rays and other things done besides the spay. They gave us the best recommendations possible for my little dog I rescued. If you have symptoms after the surgery, you can text them if your pet is struggling. They have been patient with me. After being told my Monkeys cleaning would be 2k elsewhere, I sought help at S&NofU and during what we thought was an abscessed tooth in our kitty, it was discovered his jaw was riddled with cancer and fractured and his kidneys were shutting down and we had to let him go. Dr. Kopecko and staff were beyond compassionate and helped me say goodbye to my sweet angel in such a kindhearted way. They were patient and supportive, let me stay until I was ready to leave him. They offered services to memorialize Monkey I could afford. I picked his remains up today and there was a beautiful box and paw print and card. Very efficient and easy to get in for an appointment. I did decline the microchipping because our kitty is indoors only. I received a text part way through the day of his neutering letting me know they accidentally chipped my cat but not to worry, they would not charge me for it. Oh well! Also, I requested a collar but did not receive one and I was home before I realized it. They easily removed the charge from what I paid and refunded it to me so they are really easy to work with! read more

Took my dog here to get neutered, they got him in within a week which was amazing with how many clients they have. Also EXTREMELY affordable. Literally 1/4th of the price I was getting quoted elsewhere. The only reason I give 4 stars is that they were pretty annoying and unhelpful about the cone situation. His cone was way too big. I explained this before leaving and they told me to put a string through the slits of his cone. This still didn't work so I had to spend 55 bucks to get my doodle a surgical suit which worked very well! read more

We brought our pup here and they did great work! Drop off was smooth. There was a lot of people and a lot of animals, but they had a good rhythm for drop off. Very efficient. They do charge extra for a bunch of little things like IV fluids and blood work. I think that's how they keep their prices low. So that was a bit of a surprise when I was expected $125 bill and ended up paying $215. But I agreed to them because it felt right for my dog. Right after surgery, the vet called me to let me know it all went well. I was so happy to hear. After hanging up the phone, I forgot to ask if she had a hernia or not, so I texted the line. They responded quickly and let me know she didn't have one. Pick up was smooth as well. I was grateful they told me she was done early. Picked her up around 3. Her incision looked great! On the way home, I noticed they even trimmed her nails. I try and trim them about 1-2 times a month, so they weren't very long, but it was time. It was nice of them to trim them for me. I adopted a dog who had a procedure done at Spay & Neuter the day I got him. I was told I had to go back to S&N to get the stitches removed after 14 days... First, the stitches looked horrendous. It looked like someone off the street stitched him up instead of a licensed veterinarian. The incision sight wasn't clean at all, but very jagged and uneven. There was a large bulge of skin that looked raw. I'm pretty sure he would of had better luck getting this surgery at a Vet School. I took him back in after a week because I didn't like the way the stitches looked and I was worried his paw wouldn't heal properly. After waiting for 45 minutes in the parking lot, they took him in, restitched him, and then told me to give him daily medication...but never addressed my concerns of the initial surgery or my questions regarding the original procedure. (Ie. Why did they only remove one dewclaw and not the other?!?) No surprise, when he was scheduled to get his stitches removed, I had to wait another 35 minutes (even though I had an appointment scheduled) only to be told the incision sight hadn't healed and we needed to wait another 4 days. (Why 4? Wouldn't another week make more sense?) I went back 4 days later, waited nearly an hour in the parking lot, and once the removal was complete I saw the real damage from the original, poorly executed surgery. His poor skin did not heal together at all. It's safe to say, I will never return to Spay & Neuter again. read more

I found out my five moth old male Havanese puppy needed to have some baby teeth pulled and surgery to remove an undescended testicle and also neutered. I called some Vets and was shocked at the price. I heard about spay and neuter and they got me scheduled quickly. The only downside is you arrive in the morning with many other people. Each time it took almost an hour to get him checked in and picked up. Note: You have to text them the minute you arrive but it still took a long time. He came out with two incisions and less teeth for just $190.00. That's with medicine to leave with. Blood tests and anesthesia. This was a fraction of the costs I was quoted. Panda has to wear his cone for 14 days. We have 12 to go. He's doing great and if I ever need more care this is where we will be going. read more

Dr. Lindi Kopecko did a phenomenal job with my Golden's spay. My vet commented how nice the incision was. She was very careful with my golden since she has a spine issue and took all necessary precautions. The price is more than fair. Was it easy to get an appointment ? Not necessarily. They won't book out over three months... but I eventually DID get a call! It's a little chaotic checking in as they spay/neuter a lot of animals throughout the day. But they do a fine job and are very organized checking them in. When I say chaotic it's not against the staff. You just have several animals in the lobby, some are anxious, you get the gists. They give you a pickup time and it's all very efficiently run. Don't hesitate to book there. read more

I initially wrote this scathing review due to strange circumstances. Now, I normally do not rescind my reviews especially when I feel like a dis-service was done but I am wrong on this one. SLC Spay and Neuter removed my cats teeth due to Stomatitis and I threw a fit about it because I asked them not to take out all of my cats teeth. They did this anyway. I was livid with SLC Spay Neuter until I went to my vet today and she reiterated what they said (even though I had been told different before from my normal vet) after the initial situation. My vet looked in my cat's mouth and told me how wonderful of a job SLC Spay Neuter did. Now, I am still not completely pleased with the response and the lack of communication but this place knows their stuff and I was (in this situation) genuinely wrong to think that they did me and my cat wrong. I have to give this place 5 stars because... well... I was wrong and they were right. I struggle with being frustrated with SLC spay Neuter because I do feel like they struggle hard with communication and I wish that this would've been told to me before I brought my pet there but I am/was wrong and I direct my apologies at the staff that I was kind of frustrated with. You guys did a wonderful job with my cat. I just ask that communication be better between owners and vet. I took my 13 year old bischon-yorkie mix for a dental exam, cleaning, and extraction. Unfortunately, she needed a massive amount of work. The staff was amazing from the time I scheduled until I picked her up. They were thorough, caring, attentive, and capable. Very clear on everything from pre-procedure through 2 week after care. The cost was less than half of other vet clinics, and the Covid safety protocols were exemplary. Highly recommend for dental care and I will be taking my other, younger dogs there also. We needed to get our puppy spayed. The prices are great and I know a lot of adoption places uses them. I have had 2 other female dogs before so I know what the spay incisions look like... this did not look right at all. I feel like it was a botch spayed. Just got it done yesterday.. I hope she heals properly and hopefully the incision will look better in time. I took my 11 month old male cat here to get neutered. He unfortunately was missing a testicle and had to have it removed from his abdomen. When I picked him up I was given no medication for pain or infection which should be mandatory for any surgery procedure. He seemed okay, but later that evening his abdomen incision was open. We went back the following day for a follow up visit and I asked what was best? They said they would just glue it and that's it. Again, no medication for anything. Later that day it was back open, but now it is badly infected with pus and he was in horrible pain. I called again and told them I had tried to clear the infected area with a warm cloth and they blamed me. That it was infected. They could have closed the incision on Saturday when it was still healthy and instead they decided to use glue. Now Im told by my other vet we have to wait and see if the infection will pass? It can't be flushed because that will risk removing all the stitches and it can't be stitched together because that will cause an abscess and spread the infection. Please don't take your pet here. I'm hoping mine will live. He is still in a serious amount of pain and all because they did the procedure wrong and wanted to cut corners and blame the customer for the infection. My pet verified what I did was okay. Animals are family our children. Be careful. Choose your vet or clinic carefully. read more

I have never done a neuter before so I don't have much to go off of but I was impressed by their service and process. After a call in I was able to book the appointment only a week out (other places were MONTHS). They gave great care instructions post surgery and I loved that I could take my pup in before work and pick up after. I felt comfortable leaving my precious baby with them. A few things that stood out to me: Pro: Clean, kind staff, organized and helpful Cons: The line in the morning for drop off took a bit longer than I had hoped but I still got to work on time. Let me start by saying...I usually don't leave reviews but I had a terrible experience today. It started this morning when I tried to ask the vet tech a question when she walked by car to which she replied, "Um I'm not a work yet actually..." With the social distancing, I was told to text the number when I got there and it had been 9 minutes and I wanted to make sure I had the right number. They mentioned that it would be a no contact drop off. Basically that mean that I walked my dog into the vestibule and hooked her onto a slip leash and walked out. No one was even near the window for me to make sure she was okay. I just adopted her 8 weeks ago and she's pretty fearful and was very stressed in there while I walked away. THEN I was called ready to be picked up at 2:30 (when I was told it would be between 4:30-5:30) and I asked if I needed to get a cone or anything for her or if they had them there...she cut me off and said..."actually we don't really have time to go over aftercare with people so I have a paper for you...but the short answer is that no female dogs don't need a cone." I started to ask another question but was cut off and hung up on. When I finally get there I text the number and waited forever again. I understand that this is a new process, so I was patient. They finally called and said there were no notes, so everything must have went fine. So I said, "you aren't sure? So can you find me someone who is sure because this is my dog we're talking about here." And she said, " There were no notes, so everything looks good, just follow the instructions on the list." She hung up on me before I could say anything. After that, I finally got the go ahead to come to the door. They walked her in and she practically was able to fall over. They just put her on the leash in the room and don't even look at me or longer near the door. So then I go in, she's terrified, I get her off that leash and on mine and bend down to pet her and the vet tech on the other side is very impatiently waiting on me to move. I totally understand that they do a bunch of these kinds of things, but I do not. I was very stressed and just needed some kid of bedside manner or at least a question answered. Thankfully, I have a vet friend who answered all of question and DID recommend a cone for my female dog who was licking her incisions already. read more

Half the cost of vet and even including blood work, meds, and even after care as he needed to be seen one more time after his procedure. Staff is friendly and helpful. Tried to take my two dogs in for a dental cleaning. I let them know one of my dogs gets CBD everyday for her horrible anxiety. Vet tech was super nice, dropped my dogs off, and got a call in 2 minutes to come back because the vet wouldn't do the procedure. The vet (female doctor who's last name starts with a P, cant remember it) said the dog has to be off it for at least a week before she would do it. I understand trying to be cautious, but it's 2020 and you need to get with the times. CBD has a half-life of 8-9 hours. That's it. She should know this, especially since so many people use CBD for their pets. Taking my dog off of something that helps her so much, is NOT in my dog's best interest. Her everyday anxiety is debilitating, and she shakes so bad she literally vibrates. Such a waste of a scary morning for my dogs. I will try to find a more knowledgeable vet who is up to date with current holistic treatments. On a better note, the vet tech who helped me was so nice and understanding! read more

It would have been nice to be able to make an actual appointment and to have been given some info on your covid process BEFORE arriving. My pup was owed a rabies vaccine from the adoption service and this is the place they use. My pup HATES cars. We are working on it with him but because of the lack of info provided I had to get him in and out of the car a bunch of times and due to the lack of appointment had to wait a very long time in said car and in my opinion that could have been avoided. I know folks are struggling in coronaworld but customer service is more important now than ever and I really felt like I was (literally and figuratively) left out in the cold. Please make sure you are communicating your covid changes with your customers. I'd also recommend allowing folks to make appointments directly through you and not through the people you work with to avoid similar complaints. read more

Terrible experience with a dental appointment for my cat. She had an elevated calcium level, which they found at her first appointment but said they would still move forward with the dental appointment if I'd like to. I decided to have her checked out by our vet before we moved forward with the dental cleaning. Her vet cleared her for the cleaning while we did a work up on the high calcium level, so I scheduled an appointment with salt lake spay and neuter, telling them my vet cleared her but her calcium level was still high and it was being worked up. They scheduled the appointment, I took her in and again, mentioned that her calcium level is high but her vet cleared her for the cleaning. Then, I get a call from the vet at salt lake spay and neuter saying she is refusing the dental cleaning due to the high calcium level and when I expressed frustration that I had communicated this prior to the appointment even being scheduled, she took absolutely no accountability and just said "well, you were told we were going to check labs again and could refuse based on those results when you dropped her off", which I was not told, otherwise I wouldn't have even moved forward. Why would i waste my own time and money??? So I had to go pick her up again with no dental cleaning, even though I told them SEVERAL times her calcium was high. When I went to pick her up, they had the audacity to try to charge me $90 for the lab work. When I refused to pay and they threatened to animal control to pick up my cat and wouldn't hand her over to me. After speaking with the manager, they finally agreed that the appointment never should've been scheduled in the first place and didn't charge me. I will never take any of my animals here again. So unprofessional by multiple staff members here and a complete joke of an experience overall. read more
