Took a free 25 minute tour - very useful for explaining the history behind the ship and its unfortunate sinking - the Titanic of Sweden. The ship itself is breathtaking! Lovingly restored and hopefully they can keep it around for posterity. There's a nice film to watch that provides additional background. Great multi floor exhibits and viewing platforms for the Vasa. An almost 400 yr old boat 95% intact. The museum itself is keep climate controlled to maintain the temp and humidity. The workers couldn't have been more accommodating. There's an 18 movie you can watch ahead of time that gives you some history of the Vasa. The museum is very clean and loaded with artifacts. A truly great experience.

They also have a big section dedicated to Swedish design which was super cool too. We also had a bite in their cafe. The basement floor also has many bathroom stalls so you don't have to wait. The amount of art here was astounding, and you could spend hours perusing the milieu of paintings and sculptures. There were a ton of beautiful paintings that would have been great on their own but were grouped with so many others of equal quality. Unfortunately, in my hour, I only barely finished the very top floor. And this was with me slightly rushing. So, definitely carve out a decent time block for this museum. All of the art here is incredible and is one of the best art museums I have ever visited. Just make sure to spend enough time here!!

Besides, it was raining and there was really nothing else to do on our radar. So we took a train and a bus and came upon Tom Tits right as it was opening. Needless to say, we don't have anything like this in the US, and were mesmerized. We stayed all day, and we don't even have kids, it was that much fun! Definitely one of the best days we had on our trip, besides when we went to Kalmar for two days and had the time of our lives. Love Sweden, and wish we could move out there someday. The museum has some sort of huge tubes outside and kids were zooming down the tubs having a fabulous time. We are a really delicious lunch in the museum cafe and I recommend it. The museum has an impressive permanent collection (pieces by Picasso, Dalí, Duchamp, Matisse, etc.). When we visited last week, I was really blown away by an exhibit made up of works from their permanent collection: "Pink Sails: Swedish Modernism in the Moderna Museet Collection." I wasn't familiar with too many Swedish artists, so it was a pleasure to explore this exhibit and experience art that was new to me! The museum is open late (until 8pm on Tuesdays and Fridays), which was great for us - it let us tag on a visit to the museum at the end of a full day of touristing around Gamla Stan. The museum is gorgeous, very modern, with a great gift shop, cafe, and restaurant. A really beautiful museum and well worth visiting if you're interested in modern and contemporary art.

The museum has several levels and well layout and organized. Staff are everywhere and friendly. On top level, there is a restaurant overlook the city. The view is just amazingly breathtaking, service is great. Foods and drinks are also good too. On street level, before you leave the museum, a small but plenty of variety of shops for shopping. It was nice how Åbergs art was mixed among the displays and you can tell he really loves Disney, comics, and animation! The cafe was really cute and the food was great! A real hidden gem in Sweden for Disney lovers, and I grew up near Disneyland and this was my first time seeing Walt Disney's real signature!
