Another good experience. I've been a patient of Dr Sparks for over 15 years. He has such a pleasant demeanor and truly cares about you. Like many others, I was always a little nervous about going to the dentist. I've never felt this way here. Over the years I've had multiple exams and cleanings. I've had a few cavities filled and my childhood metal fillings replaced. Dr. Sparks diagnosed pain/ bite issues I was experiencing a few years ago and determined that it was my wisdom teeth at fault. I was very nervous about having them removed but my fear was unjustified. Dr. Sparks removed my top wisdom teeth himself. A year or so later he had an oral surgeon at his office remove my lower ones. After these procedures several years ago I haven't experienced any further issues! I am truly so happy that I have Dr. Sparks as my dentist. I've referred many friends to him and all have been pleased. Last week I had an exam and cleaning. Angel the hygienist was thorough and nice to talk to. Ana and Susan at the front desk are upbeat, pleasant and efficient. The office runs on time which I really appreciate. I've been going here for about 5/6 years and I've never had any issues with anyone here. This review is really for Susan who works at the front desk. She called me to verify some new insurance and was so impatient and so rude with me. She kept talking over me, telling me I'm not helpful, and hung up on me. Insane. When I called back to ask her to cancel everything she had zero remorse for her behavior. Dr. Sparks is great but I really hope you get rid of Susan. I really didn't want to give a bad review. He is a fine dentist and my entire family was going to his office for years but his front office staff is horrible. He used to have a very nice front office person but for over a year ago she was replaced with absolutely horrible staff. She is not friendly, arguing with patients. They have 48 hours cancellation policy for appointments. I was offered last minute cleaning appointment the day before but had family emergency and had to cancel a little over 24 hours basically a couple hours after I accepted this last minute appointment. The front desk person was very rude when I tried canceling. And they charged me cancellation fees even though I was offered this cleaning appointment less then 48 hours as per their cancellation policy. Sorry Dr. Spark but because of the very bad experience that your front office staff created I am forced to look for a new dentist for my entire family. read more

Best. Dentist. Ever. I have been going to Sparks for years and I'm always blown away by the value of work and the staff. Everyone in the office is kind and most importantly good at what they do. I had an appointment today and felt like I should share the love and highly recommend this office and Dr. Sparks. I had to see another dentist during Covid because Sparks was mid move and didn't have an opening and I was leaving town so I couldn't be flexible. Oh my, I knew how good I had it at Sparks but after going to this other office it really made me appreciate it even more. I drive over an hour to get there because I trust their work. Speaking of driving... they used to have a free lot before moving during Covid, but now there is a valet parking garage under building. It usually runs me between $8-$14 depending on what I'm getting done, but it's very convenient. And there might be some free street parking if you wanted to drive around, but not positive on that. read more

I had a lot of decay and old fillings that HAD TO be dealt with. I put it off for too long because I've been afraid of the dentist since I was a kid, had a bad experience. So a friend recommended Dr Sparks and after our first appointment I was very relieved by how patient, considerate and professional he was. We made a multi visit plan, final appointment was last week and now my mouth is as good as new. Dr Sparks got me through this frightening situation with minimal pain and a few laughs. Dr. Sparks is a thorough, kind and skilled doctor who's gentle with his patients, has incredible manners and is honest about what your teeth and oral hygiene need. I've been a patient for a few years now, he came to the rescue after a reckless and horrendous dentist caused some damage to a tooth, and fixed it. Most recently I had to treat a small cavity and he's been taking all the time needed to adjust a troublesome filling. The hygienists and staff are wonderful too and they make the once dreaded trips to the dentist office a pleasurable experience, now. Once upon a time I had a dentist who I was happy with, but she sold her practice to two guys fresh out of dental school. Since it was up the road from work, I stayed on and tried them out. I think they were eager to pay back loans because they instantly recommended I have a dozen fillings, when for the previous 5 years I averaged less than a filling a year. When they did do some work, they rammed the needle in to inject local anasthetic, and while doing work managed to cut open the corner of my mouth badly enough it took two weeks to heal because it would rip open every time I took a large bite. Because of those jerk-offs, I went to Dr. Ron, and I've been happy ever since (2.5 years). The staff is very friendly and there are no vibes of shadiness. If it's not clear you need a filling, he'll mark it to be observed for 6 months. If you do need work done, Dr. Ron is very good with the needle, you barely feel it at all. I followed my girlfriend to Dr. Ron and more of our friends have started going to him, and everyone seems to be happy. read more

The receptionist is a doll who made me feel very welcomed upon arrival, the x-ray technician was quick and Dr. Ron sparks came in shortly after for my examination. He's an amazing and very honest dentist who told me that I need my wisdom teeth pulled and gave me the right info to take care of it. Angela (the dental hygienist) might be the nicest person of all time. I usually dread a teeth cleaning but she was very gentle and did a fantastic job! My teeth look and feel amazing. I'm not even a patient here, but after my wife came home nearly in tears after a visit with the hygienist (can you BELIEVE it??), you can be sure I'll be warning people NEVER to come to this office. She has TMJ and recently underwent surgery, and not only did the hygienist REFUSE TO ALLOW HER to see the dentist (due to a concern about a possible cavity and to discuss her oral hygiene regimen while recuperating - both COMPLETELY valid concerns), she was literally made uncomfortable in every way possible. Probably because the hygienist did such a - frankly - horrible job, and knew it, too. I cannot believe the complete UNPROFESSIONALISM, and will urge everyone I know to steer clear of this horrendous practice. Perhaps this hygienist was new, but if I had one as simply awful as this person, I'd never visit the dentist again. Shameful, and incredibly bad medical practice. You can be assured everyone we know will be warned, and I personally will make sure no one in my family EVER visits this practice. I can't vouch for their services due to the office staff. I booked my appointment a month out. When I booked I asked do I need to check with my insurance. They said no, they would verify. A few days before the appointment they sent a million forms to fill out. Then the day before my appointment they said they contacted my insurance and I'd have to pay more because I'm not assigned to them. So now It's a month later and I still don't have an appointment. And then, I was pressured into getting a filling i dont think i actually needed. they found a 'cavity' via xray that i had no idea was there. i've never had a cavity in my life. but, being a conscientious person, i wanted to get it taken care of immediately. i blindly trusted dr sparks' business because it was A) in beverly hills and B) recommended by a friend. FAIL. the filling SUCKS and now it hurts every time i bite down on something hard: a potato chip at the wrong angle, sprinkles on an ice cream cone, pretzels, etc. Buyer beware. read more

Dr. Sparks is by far the best dentist in town! I've been visiting his office since I first moved to Los Angeles years ago. The staff is friendly and Dr. Sparks is always available to help answer questions. Their office is located in Beverly Hills without the Beverly Hills snobbery. I always find parking when I go (their parking is free, a rare find in Beverly Hills) and I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes in the waiting area. I usually go weekdays early afternoon so that probably helps. Plus it's an added benefit that Dr. Sparks goes in at least one Saturday a month. Overall, I'd recommend him anytime. Oh, and his dental hygienists are the best! I haven't encountered one in his office I didn't like. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sparks for over a decade (soon after my move to LA) and have nothing but praise for them. They're extremely laid back and easy to work with in EVERY aspect of their business. This goes from scheduling (and cancelations), to insurance, to payment plans, to the staff themselves. This is also the kind of office where they know your face and name when you come in and even remember the things which make you uncomfortable, or you like. Dr. Sparks himself is a great and often humorous guy. I personally don't get nervous around dentists, but I've sent in my mother who does. I've happily returned for my checkups and cleanings, and referred several friends to him as well. He never tries to upsell you any services and is very conservative in his recommendations, often preferring to revisit small issues at a later date rather than race to do something immediately. I've been going here for a few years now and I really like Dr. Sparks and the dental hygienists but the new front desk staff is the ABSOLUTE WORST. I was told by Dr. Sparks that they could call my insurance while I was there to see if a procedure is covered so I wouldn't have to come back but the front desk person told me that she was too busy to make the call but would check and get back to me the next day. She then forgot to return my insurance card and had to mail it back to me. I didn't hear back for a week so I called again and left a message. Two weeks later nobody had called me back so I had to call AGAIN. At this point she tells me that someone else handles that and that she would check on it. Great! She called back an hour later to tell me it had been handled. WTF does that mean? It means the other person called my insurance and confirmed that I have to go through my primary care physician for referral and they can't help me. So I waited nearly three weeks for them to tell me that they couldn't do the work. Nice. I think it may be time to check out a new dentist. UPDATE: Just called my insurance company and they informed me that the info shared by the front desk staff is not accurate and that even though my dental insurance is separate, they still need the dentist to submit a preauthorization document and medical records to confirm. When I called back and asked to speak to someone about getting this info, she insisted it was correct. I JUST NEEDED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WTF THEY ARE DOING. read more

I have to admit, I was not looking forward to going back to the dentist. It had been about 2 years since my last cleaning and I was avoiding taking the steps to go under the light. However, I used Yelp to find a 5-star dentist that accepted my insurance and found Dr. Sparks! There couldn't have been a more pleasurable experience! There was free parking, the receptionist was extremely friendly and accommodating, the technician that took my xrays was funny, knowledgeable, and quick and the office was clean. To top it off, Dr. Sparks put me at ease while cleaning with good conversation and explanation of what was going on in my mouth. Had a lot of problems with a couple fillings and getting the bite right. My new dentist says they were done wrong, and that they had cracked. So chewing was terrible on my one side for weeks. Also when I got my teeth cleaned, I had a thin, deep horizontal line etched into two of my molars, causing immediate sensitivity to cold in the etched area from that day on. I wasnt sure what to do, because i wanted it fixed, but I didnt trust that office near my teeth anymore. His office coordinator gabriella is possibly the sweetest woman on earth, and his location is convenient, but don't let the 90210 zip code fool you into thinking he's any more experienced. read more

I was in dire need of a cleaning and found this practice through my insurance provider list. The front end staff is super amicable. I had an interesting experience with the xray tech/dental assistant. I have a locked jaw and it was a little challenging getting the film in my mouth to get the xrays of my wisdom teeth. I usually am an easy patient but I needed a little warming up in this case and the tech wasn't really as patient as I would have hoped (or maybe I'm used to a little TLC?). Dr. Sparks is clear in his findings and very thorough at explaining everything to you, but I only saw him for about 10mins. I suppose because I was only there for a regular cleaning, so it's understandable. Angela, the hygienist is as amazing as all the previous reviews state. She is super gentle, explains the procedure step by step and always makes sure you're comfortable. She is a miracle worker. I hadn't been to the dentist in 4 yrs, so she had her work cut out for her. I felt I had a deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. I could've been there all day! Indya explained all the fees, what my coverage was and my out of pocket co-insurance and co-pay, which I greatly appreciate. There are no sneaky/hidden fees. Gabriella was super sweet, from the moment I called to make the appointment to the moment I checked out. The office is cozy and very intimate, but highly functional. They gave me a whole list of things to be done along with a total cost AFTER insurance - it was nearly $4,000. I decided to go to Dr. Sparks to get a second opinion, which he provided for FREE. His examination matched the first I had gotten from the other dentist, BUT his cost breakdown was less than half of what the other dentist was proposing - even without my insurance. Not only were his prices unbeatable, but he also did AMAZING job on the work I had done. Best experience I've had at a dentist. I had an extremely bad cavity in my muller that caused me pain for close to half a year and was referred to his office through coworkers, and he saw me the first time I went in and through one x ray he was able to sit down and explain to me in detail how bad it was and how exactly the root canal procedure would fix it , and I didn't have medical insurance so I was a bit scared of it emptying my pockets but even without a payment plan or credit check it was not crazy expensive even though it was done in Beverly Hills. I've never experienced this kind of professionalism or kindness in any doctors office in the 6 years I've lived in la. I never once waited more than 3 minutes when I came into the office. It almost felt like I was the only patient they had for the day. It was very quick and discrete , and I didn't feel a thing. I was awake for half of the procedure and could hear every bit of what was going on and didn't feel an ounce pain the whole time. I was also proscribed two different medications which were not expensive , and I haven't even used yet, because it doesn't feel like I had anything done. Dr. Sparks opened the tooth cleaned it out, patched it up and sent me on my way. It was literally that easy. Aside from being a tad but sore every other symptom I had prior surgery is gone. Simply the best dental experience I've had in a long time & yes even after finding out I have some dental work to be done...not happy about on my end, but I feel better to know I'm getting it done by Dr. Sparks & his team. When learning that I did need some work down they basically mapped out the process letting me know what needed to be done first & how much it would cost. I also felt the staff wasn't about making you feel bad about what made you have the tooth issues, they were about solutions. No up-selling either.
